I was going for a Brutalist Dystopian vibe but admittedly some of them are more "exotic sci-fi future" than Dystopian

@@AlternateRealities4732I see a subtle dystopia, because of the militaristic (is that a word? Military type, I'll use the word anyway) setting, like an underlying message of a possible military dystopia. Reminds me that the end of one way of life is the beginning of another.

honestly the heavy duty prompt engineering happens in Midjourney creating the baseline image. For example, something like "dystopian brutalist city, in the style of Neill Blomkamp and Denis Villeneuve". But its also more than that since I use images as style references sometimes. I also use Midjourney's "personalization" feature which uses my own "style" to influence the image generation. (based on all the images I have ranked and liked and whatnot) On the Runway Gen-3 side the image-to-video prompts are usually very simple. Something like "drone view, the camera pans left". The image-to-video works better on clearer, more realistic, looking images, generally speaking.

Great stuff dude. I've used several AIs (free) to create sh-t tons of scifi environments and i usually optimize the results in photoshop, but it seems like MJ is still the best. Do you use advanced prompts? And what's the animation AI called and is it free? If i manage to produce the quality like your clips got then i would consider paying if it's not super expensive
I am using Runway Gen-3 to do image-to-video on Midjourney images mostly. I also use Gen-3's text-to-video and occasionally use the free versions of Luma and Kling AI as well. I do pay for Gen-3...you really need the unlimited plan to get decent results since the lower plans just don't allow enough generations. In my experience it takes A LOT of generations to get good results, like 20% of the generations at most will be usable at all. Most of my prompt engineering is on the Midjourney side.

Possibly, unless floating buildings are actually rare and expensive. Also it depends on the population density, energy costs, etc. I haven't fully fleshed out the lore for this setting.

its due to the limitations of the current AI technology. It can only produce short clips and it isn't very good at very active scenes. It will keep getting better

Well done! Makes me want to travel there and find out what's going on inside the structures. Questions like: What is their economy? What are they producing? How does their government work? What technologies have they perfected? The list is endless. It awakens my imagination.
oh, me to ;) I'd love to delve deeper with some of these videos and have more lore/narrative. Its always been my intent but my editing skills haven't caught up to my imagination yet ;)

yes, Midjourney images into Gen-3's image-to-video. It takes A LOT of generations to get good results though, unless my prompting is just horrible which is possible ;)

This is just Star Wars
kinda/sorta. It looks like some of the more dreary urban planets of Starwars I suppose, in the general sense that Starwars resembles all sci-fi.

This video, however nicely made, makes me sad. I sincerly hope that mankind won't destroy Mother Earth, so that our grand children can walk outside without a protective suit with breathing equipment. I would have rather the Earth being hit by a monstrous asteroide, then that this kind of future is awaiting us.
well, it is intended as a dystopia afterall. In reality I would prefer a solarpunk type future where most industry is in space and most of the Earth is undeveloped liked a wilderness park
