I can only give Julian a break on that if Moana wasn't the titular character. Like it's fair to ask what's Elphaba's name because the movie is called Wicked but she isn't called Wicked lmao. Or a film like Coco where she is the titular character but the main character is Miguel.

Lin Miranda was the secret sauce of the first movie because his songs really did play well with the animation. My big issue with this film soundtrack is that it feels like a Disney channel original movie track which just makes me feel like this should have just been on there

While I think Moana should of been a standalone film (Disney's new ideal of ''sticking to sequels'' is a bad idea than brand new things) I disagree that Moana 1 is worst than the second one. I’d argue up and down that Simbas pride is better than the original Lion King, definitely has a better opening theme that was made even better with it’s inclusion in the broadway production
Frozen 2 also felt like it should have been a Disney+ plus exclusive. And with this, I'm more convinced not to be hype for Frozen 3 or 4 since those two are probably TV Series seasons made into two unnecessary movies.

Even the subtitle of this video made me sad. Moana might be my favorite disney movie, even though my first one was going to the theater to see Lion King when it came out. Moana's just so chill and the ending is sick.
The scene where everyone is singing and dancing on the boat and the old guy is hiding from them because he doesn't want to deal with that shit...I don't think the filmmakers intended to make us relate so strongly to the old guy.
