a belt kit is a great option, the best part being that you can still add a fairly large pack above it for the 3 day+ trips. which translates to a helluva bugout setup if the need ever arose, and you'de be prepared for the work already having been carrying the stuff to begin with. great video

I use to wear that pistol belt and holster. As you know those holster suck. One of the people I worked w/had me replace the flap w/a thumb snap.
However, in your rig, that flap is working as designed. One of the things the guys I'd worked w/would do, is on that poly ring on the flap is attach a woven paracord laynhard. To assist on hooking the flap. Something more substantial than that ring.
I really do like your belt set up. Others have already commented on possible additions.
I might add an energy bar or something editable. However, I LIVE to eat, Not eat to live...😁
    GREAT SETUP!!!

I have been wearing an EDC belt like this for about 10 years now. Current set up is mostly Maxpedition pouches of various types. Wallet, Leatherman multi-tool, Bandana's on a carabiner, medical pouch, Fire kit pouch, electronics pouch, Admin/misc pouch, large drop pouch for carrying liquids, Carabiner for keys, secondary small drop pouch for misc things on the fly, fire arm (depending on situation), and phone pouch.

I built a belt awhile back, intending for range use. One thing led to another and its a fairly good survival belt now. Similar to yours, but with Esstec pistol and PCC pouches. One thing I added, and worked amazingly well, was I added a stand alone drop leg pouch system. Cut its belt off and using long molle straps, affixed it below my mag pouches on the left side. A little hillbilly'ish, but it tripled my storage capability.

Have a huge bag full of bits and pieces of belt kit, from cheap Chinese stuff to some very good American stuff, some British, Dutch, French. At my local surplus store American service men from the local bases sell their gear there and the webbing bits and pieces end up in the bargain bin unless it's brought in complete. I've been picking up the odds and ends for years for very little money. Time to make it all fit together some how!!!

Great video my friend! Nice belt kit. I also put together a belt awhile ago and call it my bushcraft belt. It's all military surplus and as well as knofe, water, fist aid, firekit, it includes a headlamp, small flashlight, snack pouch, etc. I love it and wear it often. I actually wear it with my pack too just in case something happened where I lost my pack. They both work well together. I too am always changing it up but I enjoy it. Again, super video and I like your channel. Marty from MinneSNOWta.🙂

Great Video ! With your Belt Kit add the Chest Pack ! For the Survival Belt Kit add the Dump Pouch so you do not leave a trail to follow ! The Canteen is great for it includes a stove for Tea or Hot Chocolate ! Some proper Canteens can connect with a Gas Mask ! Carry the Leatherman "Mutt" to repair a M-16/AR-15 left on the battlefield ! Topo Map and Compass of your area is a must ! Also a GPS is also good way to find your way back to the car or home ! tjl

The only 2 things that I would say to add is a flashlight. Even if it's just a led keyring style. And for "survival" maybe a snack. Granola or jerky. Just a snack to hold you over til you can get to a meal. But it's a great kit! 👍

a few years ago got a multi - pouch belt pack from cabela's. simliar to this. when i got done packing it. with what iwanted in it, i had a pack that weighed in at about 10lbs. way too heavy for a day tripper belt pack. one thing i have done like you just mentioned on the fat wood sticks. is i drill a small hole in the ends of a couple. an have added them to my edc fire kit in my pocket.

Not a bad kit but I think a bit short in some areas! Food: energy bars or dried fruits and nuts; need to keep your energy level up. A second canteen with packets of your favorite beverage mix instead of a second canteen cup & stove. Depending on how available water is where you are at or expect to be. A poncho is a must and 2 construction trash bags for a ground sheet because the space blankets are NOT durable and sleeping (trying to sleep) on wet and/or cold ground isn't likely! Make a debris bed and then place the trash bags on top, then you, then the poncho and maybe the emergency blanket as a cover tarp! Why do you need the Esbit stove if you have a canteen cup stove? Candles are great for fires and light as well as other things. I would add a flashlight and/or headlamp with extra batteries! Do you have extra ammo and/or mags for your pistol? Unless you have a bad back, you probably don't need the back pad, just extra weight. I'm glad to see that you added shoulder straps for extra stability and comfort! A larger syringe without a needle can be used to flush out your eye(s) or you can add a small bottle of eye wash as getting something in your eye can be disabilitating. Thanks for the video!

other than no way to carry ammo mags for your pistol or ar-15. it is a good start.
just make sure your ifak, is fully stocked. and you should have two tourniquets on that belt.
flashlight( not a cheap trash or a “tactual” , but a good solid real one, using D cells).
spare batteries for everything you use.
( me 4-D, flash light 5-AAA, hearing protection/ mounted radio. 2-N, gun sight, spare for the hand held radio).

  • @nickmartino2839

Maybe some good tape for your ifak and maybe a ace bandage as well..I find i use them more than anything else... for minor accidents that is..a sharpie and maybe a way to flush your eye or a cut with clean water.. like a empty syringe.. if you get something in your eye can help to get it out

    Nice load out. 👍🏼👍🏼
I’m curious, does that utility pouch not have straps on the bottom? That rig could hold a military poncho rolled up tight and placed on the bottom (or top) of that pouch.
Imho a poncho is essential for a scout rig, if just to use if it rains, or if you need to stay overnight.
