Mate of mine from down the pub was a Major in the Royal Marines, he's in his 70's now but the other month a couple of blokes tried to mug him late at night while he was walking the dog... Needless to say they didn't get very far. "I introduced one chap to the cobbles and his companion had second thoughts." Were his exact words afterwards... Legend!
marines are elite versions of soldiers who specialize in multiple scenarios whether thats entering by sea, by air or land. so personally i think everywhere is the perfect place for a marine.
Want evidence of the Royal Marine's elite standards? Look at their training. It's 32 weeks long (I believe). That weedles out the unfit, the needy or basically, the undesirables. The Royal Marines (and the Parachute regiment) form what is known as the SFSG. The Special Forces Support Group. So they train and support the SAS (you know, the best Special Force in the world). Also, the majority of Special Force selection comes from either Para regiment of Royal Marines..
Not quite airborne insertions via parachute is now the exclusive domain of the RAF Regiment! The Paras now fast rope from choppers, as it is a more direct and less dangerous form of entry to the LZ. The only other dedicated parachute force is the SAS's Airborne Troop, but which is typically a small number of operators.
Quite in Comments! That was some impressive shit. A little basic training in self defence can help everyone especially those vulnerable or those who live in rough areas.
No it would and does work, it's a martial arts move that I picked up from Shotokan Karate, it's all about the placement of your hand, you get a hold on their thumb and twist away and they can't help but lose grip then all you have to do is twist their wrist into a rather uncomfortable position. Besides it depends entirely upon the person you're against.
Its a demonstration of some ways they might fight, but obviously they don't want four marines ripping each other to bits to show it, so they are trained to do it safely
I agree but clearly if you look closely in this vid you'l see that they have some sort of protective thing where they get struck with the baseball bat.
His back right foot was perfectly suited for a sweep so if it was indeed that way it wouldn't have been to hard to floor someone after they grabbed you.
@TRIPPYbugger Royal Marines are pretty much the same thing as the Recon Marines, who are also commandos. There are people out there that think Royal Marines are the same thing as the basic USMC rifle man.
I think i went to that place with the sappers and did a raft race while i was on my officer selection? The far bank and size of the lake looks identical?
@LordWellington15 Actually it does come from some one who did 3 years of service in combat units and brushed shoulder to shoulder with some of the guys who served in those forces. The things I said here are coming from actual knowledge and not just empty talking.
uk RM commandos are special forces as they are trained as elite troops able to fight as a small group or on there own behind enemy lines hence the term commando
+Kkl Kkl why does every fucking person on RUclips say "you're brainwashed" bitch you're fucking crazy don't be replying to me with some stupid paragraph about the government or some shit. Stupid ass nigga you're fucking crazy that's what you are .
@CoffeeFiend1 i completely agree with everything u jusy said except i know that the SAS selection can take up to a year and is longer than the marines, but i dont know which is the longest in the world... it could be the SAS but i dont know for sure.
Hardly a fanboy. I live near Taunton near to where their base is and I had 3 Rm come to a class I take for a period before they were deployed to Afghanistan. Nicest blokes you could meet and their story was bit different to the one you tell. I assume you are either an ex RM, know one or have served with?
@killerclown789 there are about 7'000 royal marines and over 200'000 US marines. although the royal marines training is longer (32 weeks as appose to the USMC's measly 13 weeks), the USMC also has elite units like marine force recon which will be just as capable as the commandos. these constant comparisons are childish; they are allies and share a bond of freindship
They do train for commando style operations but due to the nature of the current engagements that they are fighting it its not possible to use that type of tactic so yes they are out there on the front line fighting like regular marines. In a larger conflict they would use these commando skills but its not appropriate in Afghanistan. It appears that you are american how do you come to the opnion that they are not commando's and how do you know how and what they are trained in?
yea yea looks good in practise but dont forget these guys are trained to kill you so in real life i could imagine there being a lot of blood and a few throats being cut.
@trommbas i wasnt comparing RMs and SAS i understand the roles each play in a war, SAS is special forces, RMs are a part of the Royal Navy. some1 earlier said the RMs had the longest selection process in the world, i was pretty much just sayin the SAS slection is much tougher, harder and longer and i understand this is because they need only the elite, only bout 5% pass SAS selection from the amount that started. there is a reason SAS are the elite and RM are just tough as fuk lol.

Royal Marines Commandos are BEAST! Respect from Holland!!
I'm training to join the Marines (Reserves) this time next year. This video has now fully taught me not to piss off any of the other boys in uniform!
Love how they play Pulse of the Maggots at the beginning
Proves how solid a royal marine is, cant wait to be one

I've been treking through that weird part of RUclips... But thankfully I ended up back in the awesome section.
it doesn't matter how hard you think you are or who you are, don't mess with a royal marine!
they go in first in the hard hitting parts mainly amphibious assault and you still get commando detachment like groups
so happy i can hear my favourite band slipknot
Quite in Comments!

I cannot wait to start my training

i love how they use the Black Hawk Down soundtrack;)
If you look closely, you can see the "Para Wings" on their right shoulders. You can only wear that badge if you're parachute trained.
Great showmanship
I agree but clearly if you look closely in this vid you'l see that they have some sort of protective thing where they get struck with the baseball bat.
Im English, im Christian & proud of it. Long live our Queen and luck forever be with our troops.
I sleep a little easier at night knowing these guys are protecting my country.
no, the RM's are specialised in the ability to be Amphibious, however, they can get their Para wings...
source (three years as a Royal Marine Cadet)
His back right foot was perfectly suited for a sweep so if it was indeed that way it wouldn't have been to hard to floor someone after they grabbed you.
that is brutal.....ly epic!
YES THEY are
@TRIPPYbugger Royal Marines are pretty much the same thing as the Recon Marines, who are also commandos.

Couldn't agree more.

Harry Waddington the SBS used to be part of the Royal Marines to later be part of the UKSF.
I still wonder how do they decide who takes the blow to the stomach when they do the disarm and bat to the abdomen part...
Scarily motivating
Yeah, Pulse of the Maggots playing when they start to fight.
haha the guy who won king of the mat is Cpl woods our Troop PTI
No but there are royal marines reserves aswell as regular royal marines commandos..
JIMI HENDRIX IN THE BACKGROUND "VOODOO CHILE" MARINES ARE ELITE AND ALSO HAVE GOOD SONG TASTE =D I'LL BE THERE SOON!
luv this video
amazing
+Kkl Kkl why does every fucking person on RUclips say "you're brainwashed" bitch you're fucking crazy don't be replying to me with some stupid paragraph about the government or some shit. Stupid ass nigga you're fucking crazy that's what you are .
Well, now i know what i wanna do when im older
@CoffeeFiend1 i completely agree with everything u jusy said except i know that the SAS selection can take up to a year and is longer than the marines, but i dont know which is the longest in the world... it could be the SAS but i dont know for sure.
loved that well done lads
OMFG THEY PLAYED JIMI HENDRIX MADD RESPECT!!!!!!!
woah i think the corporal speaking was my section corporal in training
Love it!
Don't mess with our Marines!
True that, but this is entirely choreographed. There's no denying that
Few pints was it last night son? I was in the Paras for 15 years.
It's a proven fact, Royal Marines, love Hendrix!!!!
How does one fight unarmed? These people all have arms, so the title is a lie.
***** So, true.
Arins Father They're trained in all kinds of situations, in case they don't have a weapon for some reason, this is what they are trained for.
partyrocker1159 They have arms, so I don't believe them.
Arins Father Like I said, trained for any situation, these tactics could be useful.
partyrocker1159 This is a unarmed display, I don't see any unarmed displaying.
what music they are listening ???? the name Please
basic moves are the usually the most effective!
When I'm 18 I'm joining the royal marines, can't fucking wait :)
Obviously had something protecting their mid sections but was pretty cool :)
0:56 and onwards do I hear Slipknot - Pulse of the Maggots?
really funny, nice education, do they say the part about getting killed or limbs blown off?
im guessin these lads have already earned their berets
@nightcry96 Royal Marines are commandos, US Marines are basic rifle men. Royal Marines would kick their ass.
this is class. do the marines actually do a lot of this training?
whats so different between a soldier and marine
@CoffeeFiend1 They can only be from Commonwealth countries.
@armatulo I'm sure this is coming from someone who has even tried to sign up for any of those forces you listed.
@ZombieModzTV ok then id like to see you try to take a marine on in unarmed combat
well actually in a street fight your less likely to encounter to fight someone who is faster than a royal marine
in 1 minutes music name - old rock ??? the Name ????
had 1 too many did we?
Wipe your tears.
You take internet warrior to the next level lol
Love our british Marines!
Clever boy!
And the last time Paras actually jumped for a full airborne assault was WW2.
looks like some really vicious form of judo!!!
I'm joining 45 commandos Royal Marines not just because of that to protect my country
I bet they have balls of steel
Hardly a fanboy. I live near Taunton near to where their base is and I had 3 Rm come to a class I take for a period before they were deployed to Afghanistan. Nicest blokes you could meet and their story was bit different to the one you tell. I assume you are either an ex RM, know one or have served with?
Yes indeed, made me smile! :D
I think ill go get myself a cuppa
It's just a bit of fun. Lighten up.
This style of H2H combat is quite similar to Systema Spetsnaz

UNBEILEVABLE
"the rear Japanese strangle!" wrong wrong wrong
Soldiers don't live in a state of perpetual childhood. Some are childish, most live in a perpetual state of Service!
Why do they keep kicking each other after?
What country do you live in ?
They play Jimi Hendrix that makes it cooler!
the first song isnt it under siege
you seem to know all about it ducky
Well considering the Regular Army is trained just as well as the U.S Marine corps, I'd bet on the Royal Marine.
...................SEMPER FI!!!!
what do you mean at your disposal
@nightcry96 not if the spetznaz and korean soldiers were teamed up
They do train for commando style operations but due to the nature of the current engagements that they are fighting it its not possible to use that type of tactic so yes they are out there on the front line fighting like regular marines. In a larger conflict they would use these commando skills but its not appropriate in Afghanistan. It appears that you are american how do you come to the opnion that they are not commando's and how do you know how and what they are trained in?
nope the rmc have there own parachute regiment..
Where was this?
voodoo child by jimi hendrix, nice
yea yea looks good in practise but dont forget these guys are trained to kill you so in real life i could imagine there being a lot of blood and a few throats being cut.
harsh but true.
@trommbas i wasnt comparing RMs and SAS i understand the roles each play in a war, SAS is special forces, RMs are a part of the Royal Navy. some1 earlier said the RMs had the longest selection process in the world, i was pretty much just sayin the SAS slection is much tougher, harder and longer and i understand this is because they need only the elite, only bout 5% pass SAS selection from the amount that started. there is a reason SAS are the elite and RM are just tough as fuk lol.
somehow i think the leapfrog bit might have been a joke
