Awesome. I'm excited to check this one out!
We can't wait for it go live either :D
Thanks R, backed it today. Can't have enough train games :D
Thanks for your support!
Rahdo did you play the original? My original only cost $10 and I am not sure if it’s worth changing to this version for ks price plus shipping. The original game had 54 cards and this new one have like 73+ cards (not that much more)
the passengers really do add a lot. i wouldn't want to go back to playing without them. but the original game was very good too :)
Hey Ylei
We've treid to make the game as affordable as possible. You are right about the card difference. However, there are also three sheets of punchboard, a bag, and 19 meeples in the box. So there's a lot more for the price.
All this adds loads to the game play. Think of it as the base game with a massive expansion included.
Plus we are 8 years later. Postal costs, freight costs, and material costs are all at a very different price to what they were back then, unfortunately.
I hope that helps justify it for you. But if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. 🙂
Do the solo rules work if the original release?
yeah, i think so. you'd have to do a bit of house ruling, but the core ideas i think would work without the passengers (though maybe not as well)
It would be a lot shorter for sure, and you won't score very well. It's untested. The rules are on BGG if you wanted to try it out now though.
The campaign definitely won't work with the original though.
