The Black Prince in War Thunder is a Premium British Heavy Tank at Battle Rating 6.0 that's ACTUALLY good! This upgunned and uparmoured Churchill is the final form of the chassis which gives it over 150mm of armour at the front and 90mm on the sides!
The 17 pounder cannon was added an along with it came the APDS round giving it just under 270mm of penetration at point blank. This means you can damage Panthers through the front plate and pretty much any other heavy tank is at your mercy!
The Black Prince is just... really REALLY slow! :)

idk, probably just the T-72AV (TURMS-T), as currently my GRB 10.7 lineup is just the T-80UM2 and i really dont find that helpful to my team

@@Imzeboss the T-80 really isnt too special, its more of a small medium tank then a light tank imo. overall its a nice tank with fine armor, a mediocre gun, and good speed

It is so interesting to see Odd going through the same frustrations I do with my Brit tanks, absolutely pasting a target multiple times, only to get one shotted

I mean it was available for years and years in game outside events by just purchasing the pack as it was. And it also did go on many sales in the past on its own too. I guess you're just too late now that it is removed from the store and is only there during events.
It's not worth the money, it's way to slow and you're Cas fodder.

Something is indeed seriously wrong with APDS.
Look up the protection analysis of the Kugelblitz with for example the FV4202's Shot mk.3. The APDS just disappears and the shrapnel does barely anything.
Gaijin severely nerfed it with their new physics, the same physics that broke HE for planes

APDS now shatters after penning one piece of armour. Anything spaced or overlapped just eats it

Having used the black prince to grind out a large portion of certain ranks and with it aced I can say now that it will not fair well at long ranges. It doesn't have enough zoom and you need a custom sight. Honestly I really would recommend using it in medium to short ranges and being aggressive with it. Push the enemy team and the caps. Be careful about your flanks. Planes for the most part are just an annoyance. Your upper front plate and turret mantlet are the weak points so don't be afraid to angle the hull. It is a Churchill hull after all
It's good for brawling, for slugging.

In world of tanks, one of my favorites. Its a tier 7 there. Slow as can be but great everywhere else. Has clutched so may times. Love it.

Been told many times when playing the Black Prince - is to use CC1 as a usable stabilizer and just keep moving.
That goes for every Churchill. The ONLY benefit of being so slow lol

A little correction, the black prince has a lot of side armor, 95mm of it. If you angle it's pretty strong
Great video, my grand father worked at Vauxhall's for over 40 years, during the war he was exempt from serving in the armed forces because he was helping to build Churchill tanks. Not sure if he worked on the Black Prince prototypes. The time I got to touch a Churchill tank (Shuttleworth collection I think) was emotional because he could've touched that actual tank also.
if you went in a straight line to the B cap in this game without stopping or adjusting, you would take 7 minutes to get there with this tank

Black Prince has great side armour. Angled the BP has 200mm+ front and side armour. Plaus the side has multiple layers of armour filled with tracks etc
The problem is that theres actually small gaps in the armour model so when aphe shell can pen deep enough into the tracks the explosive filler can damage through the incorrect gaps in the armour
Bought this and the premium firefly when they were first two added ahead of any other British tanks. The had unlimited backups at the time on account of there being no other vehicles so I could keep coming back. Was so much fun.

If it’s a pretty even game, Churchill at late game is a lifesaver

Give the Ratel 20 a try, a tank so bad that despite fighting Tiger I's with mouse guided missiles in a downtier is still getting swapped with the G6 and moving down to rank 4 next patch.
Black Prince is one of my favorite tanks to play. Love getting her in a good spot and watching the enemy team do nothing to the armor.

the black prince is not an up armoured churchill!
it’s literally just a wider churchill to fit a new turret, the armour is exactly the same thickness on both.
When I was playing WoT a long time ago, Black Prince was my favorite tank.
In fact, this is what a Churchill should look like that can stand up to other heavy tanks.
It's a shame that it's so high in BR here, because it would be perfect for my 5.3 set - I have 3.7 RAM and AC IV, and the Church VII has a terrible cannon and can't handle Tigers and Panthers. Sometimes I even take Alecto to the squad, with which I have already shot a few Tigers ;)

By the time you get to the battle in this tank, u can find half the enemy team have lost their main BR tank so you can mop up their backups/spaa while bouncing everything fired at you.

i had one fantastic match together with another black prince. it was hürtgenwald and it was our last push. we drove side by side the mainroad and shootin down everybody around us and won the match. never had this experience again. after the match we both giggling and laughing at the chat. ..for my opinion 6.0 is too high for this. 5.7 would be fit a little bit better. at 6.0 u facing the RU251 and all the other fast heat slingers

When you say replenish ammo, and how expensive they are, do you pay real money for them? What can you buy with real money in game?
The ammo is payed with the in-game silver currency. There’s no “premium” for-real-money ammo or similar consumables.
Arent backups real money only?
