You are a generous artist sharing so many processes on RUclips for free. Your courses are great value and not too expensive, and now you've offered a free course. Big hearted artistic woman you are. Appreciate you and your encouragement and inspiration. Thank you Helen. Rachelle, Australia ❤
Wow, thank you Rachelle! What a lovely big hearted comment... I'm so happy that you enjoy what I share and I really appreciate your enthusiam and encouragement....I put a lot of effort into what I share so it means a lot that it is appreciated...
Thanks so much helen, I'm going to try and make this later. I have all this scrap and I'm just pissing money away on buying new sketchbooks that I never finish- hopefully this will inspire me and I'll be sketching away in no time! Very grateful for this tutorial, I usually get lost on all the steps on others but you explained it perfectly. Thank you, have a lovely day! 🥰🥰🥰
I absolutely loved doing this! I have so many scraps laying around and this turns them into something very inspiring. Thank you for sharing this with us!
Thank you Helen for generously sharing how to do this. I had already planned to spend my morning working through some exercises in your book that I recently purchased, but now I'll start with making a special sketchbook just for that. Again, thank you!
Thanks so much, Helen!!! Great class and thorough instructions. Love this and can't wait to try it. So grateful for all that you share. Also, beautiful sketchbooks!!! Sondra Borrie
Such a great way of using old, unwanted work. And this method avoids the problem o starting with a clean page - there are already marks that can be used as a springboard to inspire the new piece. 😀
THANK YOU.....I JUST LOVE YOUR ENERGY....hoping you will get me crafting....I'm a newbie at most things but when I'm creating/making I have a lovely happy kind mind.....I like the look of the little mini one as I haven't the large paper.....somehow I've also lost your recent email videos being inky and messy. Thank you for sharing
Ah how sweet thank you. If you ever want to refer back to any of my emails the content mostly sits on my website here: helenwellsartist.com/blogsandvideos
I will try this technique on a large scrappy paper that i clean my roller on whilst doing Gelli printing....it's going to be fabulous!! Thanks again Helen x
Fabulous! Such clear instructions…..can you share the brand of paper you are using here? Also, do you think one could use this tiny sketchbook for small collage work?
A few years ago, you posted another video on how to make a sketchbook using a different method. While I found that method a bit more complicated (my feeble brain LOL), I really like the final book better. Which way is your favorite?
It really depends on what I’m using to make the sketchbook… this one is great for large pieces of paper and creates more pages…the other one which is here ruclips.net/video/U5Qp_T48EnI/видео.htmlsi=ecNy2XNT0fYVqlYD is good for any size paper. I probably the original more often…I actually find it quicker as it’s only one cut…but it creates a sketchbook with half the number of pages. Xx

@@HelenWellsArtist yes I did!!
Thanks a bunch, I'm now going to spend my evening getting sore knees and paper cuts making many different size books on the sitting room floor 😅💜
Your knees may not thank you but hopefully your creative spirit will! Have fun x
Fabulous! Such clear instructions…..can you share the brand of paper you are using here? Also, do you think one could use this tiny sketchbook for small collage work?
Yes you could definitely use this for collage…it’s perfect for that. Here I’m using academia/student paper from Fabriano I think it was 160gsm x
Had to do it twice, thank you. first time fail second 🥈
Well done for trying twice…hopefully it will be super easy now x
