When I was a child, my favorite spots in Manteca were Chaka's (closed now but you can buy their sauce online still), Forum Dynasty (i think thats the name. Over by Raleys if that still exists), Imperial Garden, Chubby's and Chevy's.
I agree with Panera, Chipotle & In n Out... I would suggest Luu's Chicken Bowl as well... these were our 4 go to spots. I agree that El Jardin and Strings are also excellent but we rarely went to those

This list lost credibility with Panera Bread and it just kept going downhill and crashed badly.

How about The Hole in the Wall Pizza? Oops, you probably weren't around in the 70's. They made the best pizza I ever had.
