I'm using the same viv but the slightly taller one, and it has worked wonders for my baby cresties. Got a little dalmatian harlequin breeding pair. But this video helped me get the ideal conditions to put in there for when the babies hatch
I think the mold prevention has a lot to do with the kind of substrate. I’ve never had a mold issue with coconut fiber. I think it’s more resistant to it. I like to use it for my animals that need higher levels of humidity. And I try to spot clean if I see anything, but I’ll change the entire substrate about once a month. I hope that helps. 😊
You dont have to change the substrate if you take the time to make it bioactive. Layer leeca around an eggcrate base, mesh, charcoal then add springtails then substrate then add isopods. All of that wil prevent mold and you can add real plants.
What's the diet like? How often and what do you feed him? I've heard every day to every other day to every couple of days. Oh also im planning on getting a baby and wamt something small but big enough to hold him or her untill theyre maybe a juvenile then move him into a 18x18x36. Im thinking a 12x12x12 or 12x12x18 don't want it too big so he cam fins his food. Im konda leaning towards the smaller of the two.
That’s not always factual. I had my baby crested geckos in a big average size enclosure and they refused to eat anything when I brought them home for weeks. I got so concerned then I downsized them to something very small and they started eating. Sometimes big too soon before they get accustomed to you and a big unfamiliar place is too much for them.
Hatchling crested geckos notoriously have a difficult time finding their food dish. The proven solution is to rear them in a very small enclosure. I keep my babies in the smallest size critter keeper, and they're doing great! Once they hit 10+ grams, I move them up to a larger enclosure.
What size is the tank
@jessicafitch I would like to know too
Baby crestys are the cutest :)
Yes! They’re so adorable! Thank you 😊
This was very helpful. I just got a little baby crestie and I was thinking of ideas. Thanks for the video
I’m so glad this was helpful! Congrats on your new Crestie! They’re amazing little geckos 😄

Awesome! I’m glad this video helped 😊 that’s a really cool breeding pair project!
How do prevent mold from growing? Also, when you clean the tank do you replace the entire substrate and moss? Thank you.

I love that little enclosure. Great video, thank you! 😊
Thank you so much! 🙏 I can’t wait to scape his larger enclosure when he gets bigger 😊
Do you use a UVB light?
Love the new video
Thank you so much! 😊
Hi, what is the brand of this tank ?

This is suitable for a jumping spider at most, surely not for a crested gecko of any age, that is just too small...

It is suitable for a crested gecko but only a hatchling
Umm how big is the tank I’m going to get one but I want to know ❤
That is knowwhere big enough for any type of reptile.

Im actually looking to get a crested gecko and the pet store i go to only sells babys and i was going to get this exact enclosure
That tank is really small for a crested gecko
