Beautiful, that's about the size of it. Call it adagio or andante? It's beautiful. If I could have a discussion with M Schiff, I would bet he says he appreciates and cares more about such quiet contemplative pieces than other sorts of music.
I heard this on the radio last night and had to keep checking my phone. It didn't sound like Mozart to me. I thought it was by Beethoven with some of the strong dynamics later on in the piece. Very great music! I wonder why I've never heard it before.
@@carolusBA333 well... I understand that you have made a comment on my comment 🙄 but why in a language I do not understand? Were there some special intent in that choice?
I find this piece by Mozart refreshing, it makes a change to hear something that isn't yet in another major key and that Mozart was certainly capable of such emotional depth and maturity in his piano works.
Peccato, perché Shiff a me piace molto…. Sono deluso…
@@salvatoremartella5397 Whatever. Take it up with Mr. Schiff. I’m a pianist and I think I know the meaning of adagio and andante. This is adagio. It’s the correct tempo, He actually okays the piece more slowly than some other great artists.
@@salvatoremartella5397Schiff plays the piece in 12:00 minutes. Compare that Roth other great pianists. Uchida, 11:00. Haebler, 10:15. Brendel, 10:11.Ashkenazy, 11:18. Horowitz plays it in 8:00. There are a few who do play or more slowly, such as Arrau, 16:00.

As usual, with mastery and great beauty. Thank you. Everything András Schiff touches turns to gold.

That is not Beethoven´s composing style. It´s not the brilliance of the music but your lack of understanding that led you to think this isn´t mozart.
You make a good point, it definitely differs from his normal sound. It's in a minor key and oddly dissonant (for Mozart) in many places.
Marvelously!!!
01:32 lovely, mozart as his best
I love Mozart, but... it is same "story" over and over again, with little variations. Dear herr Mozart... my friend... you bored me with this one.
Escuche mejor la pieza. Tiene opinión apresurada

That clap was insane. Wtf 😳
Lo trovo realmente troppo, troppo veloce!
È UN ADAGIO! Qui sembra un andante…
No. He plays it adagio. Not andante.
