    Just a little story about how my dumb ass got robbed. Totally my fault. Let me know if it has happened to you.

      We simply get comfortable and complacent and just want to live a life of peace and then wamo we get reminded of which world we live in.

      Hey Scott, hope you're well, I understand that as a man events like this can be emasculating, not saying you feel/felt that way, but in case you did, just a friendly reminder that you were not only the victim of a crime but also of unfortunate happenstances. Had the landscapers not been there, you would've been alerted and could've confronted prior to (or like you said, after he obtained the gun). Had you happen to have been in the kitchen that moment, same outcome. Had the lock happened to have not gone out, no gun from the car but who knows, maybe he would've tried the main house. You just never know and it's easy for us men to beat ourselves up because we feel like another man "got one over on us" but that isn't the case. Like you said, and to reiterate my earlier point, you never know what might have happened that day. You could've confronted him and killed him and you regret that for the rest of your life or worse, he could've managed to fatally injure you in a shootout, you just never know. And not because he's a better marksman or what have you, you just never know in these situations. The same way cops get killed in gun fights by criminals everyday, it's just bad luck, not poor use of the tool by anyone. So, in short, you know a few things to check every night from now on AND no one died as a result of this "lesson". That's worth celebrating and I hope you have a nice glass and a cigar to celebrate the best outcome possible which is justice served, you and your family are okay, and you got your weapon back. Cheers on a lot of WINS by you and yours, my friend.

    Hi Scott, Greg sent me here. Nice to meet a fellow anorak. I lived in Baltimore city for 50 yrs. I was never broken into. Shootings, car jacking, arson and petty theft all around me. I retired to a nice small town in NC. The community is made up military and retired military. But the first thing to go up in the house were cameras. I was still living in bmore and watching the house in NC. I left my liberty safe in bmore and got a bigger and newer liberty in the new house. I have lessons learned. Lol. It just sounds like you had a series of unfortunate events adding to a perfect storm. Lol. I subscribed and look forward to watching the rest of your videos. ✌️

    I'm happy no one was hurt. It's also good that you're self aware enough to realize you had made some mistakes. Yes in a perfect world it shouldn't matter but that's not how things are. When I was a kid we lived in a neighborhood that was devastated by the 80s crack surge. We had people enter our homes while wr were there and awake. Had several other incidents with storage as well. They never found any of the stuff or caught any of the thieves

    My friend I agree that you were complacent but in no way shape or form was some piece of 💩 breaking into and stealing your property “your fault”. This is exactly why I carry 24-7 even in my house, I have been asked why I do that even by my family members and my answer is always the same. It’s because 100% of home invasions happen when the homeowner is at home. There is no way we can be ready to go and on standby all the time especially at our home when we are supposed to be relaxed, but we can minimize our response time to a home invader by carrying our firearm and a small flashlight in our pockets all the time.

    • @ScottUrbach
      @ScottUrbach  Год назад

      VG - needless to say I have corrected the mistakes of the past. As with you, someone breaking in to the main house with us at home will have some serious consequences to deal with. Thanks for watching.

    Well that F’ing sucks!!! Glad it worked out in the end and the firearm did not fall into other bad circumstances that could have caused harm. I would hope the thief has learned his lesson but sadly I doubt that is the case.

    Are you sure it was random and he hadn't scoped you out beforehand? He strolled up so casually looking like he knew exactly where he was going. And then got out of there so quick, as if he knew what he was looking for. 🤔
