2012 World Series Ryan Theriot getting a bloop single in the 10th inning, Brandon Crawford laying down a perfect sacrifice bunt, and then Theriot coming around to score the winning run on a Marco Scutaro base hit to complete the sweep of the Tigers is a perfect sequence to describe the 2010-14 Giants.

I love this segment so much and I am very good at it. It's hard to wait long enough to show my wife how obsessed with stats I was as a kid, to pull players from deep in my memory that I haven't thought about in over a decade. I legit yelled "Yes" after finding out I pulled Ryan Theriot out of nowhere. Thank you for this Jolly.
Love this series! I was on the Amp channel when the manager one was recorded and you all know how much I support these videos! I also can’t wait for the player batting stance sillhouette series that I suggested! ❤
Me when I see the title of the video “man, as a cubs fan, I’d love to see Ryan Theriot featured” also me *screaming at my phone laughing that he’s the hard mode*
Got the Wilson and Figgins almost instantly. But my brain went the other direction on the hard round. I though of Mike Fontenot instead of Theriot. Which granted I always thought of those two together.

That hard level gave me an idea for a prompt yall should use for this: Players who have won back to back WS (with different teams if you want it to be harder, granted most teams don't win back to back anyway).

Wade Boggs just made the trivia question with 601 games with the Yankees. Johnny Damon was close he played 597 games with the Red Sox and 576 games with the Yankees.
I always seemed to forget Ryan Theriot when filling out the Sporcle quiz on lineups from 300-win games. Want to stump people? Just do a RefGuess with players from primarily in the 90s.
I think about Ryan Theriot way too much in my everyday life solely because of that 2011 team. During that crossword type challenge where they had to think of a guy that played for the Dodgers and Giants he was literally the first guy that came to mind and that irritated me.😭

I gotta give Dan the people's champ crown on this. He did get it right, he's just a maverick that plays by his own rules

Giants deep cut
Giants were doing chaosball before it was coined
printed out a picture of that run Theriot scored and put it on my dorm room wall. good times

Cubs legend Ryan the riot theriot
Fun RefGuess idea: Players who played for 2-3 (or just all 3) of the bird teams, i.e. Cardinals, Orioles, Blue Jays.

It's nice that sometimes it IS Chone Figgins.
Funny enough the first three names to come to mind for me in the bonus round were in order, Ellsbury, Damon, and Boggs
3/3 once again. So happy we finally got the GOAT Chone Figgins. And as a Cards fan, ofc I knew Theriot

This one was surprisingly easy. I usually have to dig deep, but these guys were basically the only guys that came to mind on these stats.
My main question is why is ryan theriot worth remembering unless you are a Cubs/Cards/Giants fan?

I only knew hard, because I saw a fun fact about Theriot winning rings in back to back years with different teams.

fun refguess idea (inspired by ryan theriot): players who played for back to back WS champion teams
With hitters I look at:
#1 Teams
#2 position
#3 HRs
With pitchers I look at
#1 Teams
#2 Games played/Games Started ratio
#3 ERA
Ryan Theriot seriously won 2 straight WS at 2 different positions
Let's go Dan! Yeah baby!
I'd be interested to see "One Time All Stars" with 10+ years in MLB. Could be brutal but it could work
