Rockhaven Sanitarium in Montrose, California provided restorative mental health care to multiple "ladies" with celebrity ties, earning it a reputation as the "Screen Actors' Sanitarium." Friends of Rockhaven's Joanna Linkchorst describes how residents such as Billie Burke (Glinda the Good Witch from The Wizard of Oz), Gladys Baker (Marilyn Monroe's mother), Clarke Gable's first wife and others sought respite from overwork and exhaustion at this historic facility, founded in 1923.
