We spent two days exploring the most beautiful place in Italy, the Amalfi coast and Positano! With dramatic cliffs plunging straight into the crystal clear blue water and picturesque mountainside villages, this truly is one of Europe's most spectacular holiday destinations. What we did is 3 nights in Naples (included a day trip to Pompeii), then left Naples to Salerno in the morning and got to the hotel there around 10.00am and spend the entire day and stayed one night there. Next day was the Amalfi Coast journey starting early going through Ravello and stopping at Amalfi and Positano for a few hours each before we ended in Sorrento where we stayed 3 nights and did a day trip to Capri Islands from there - best parts of Italy IMO

Lovely coast road, but so scary. Food looks terrific. They say exercise is good for you, but l think l might give that part a miss. To hilly for old ladies. Stay safe.
It really is a workout to climb to the top of Positano. But nothing can beat the views from down by the beach in that lovely cool water 🥰🥰

im a spaniard and italy and japan are my favourite places on earth , and been to most countries because of my job. italy is a living museum and is a living art work, there are so many areas in italy like the amalfi coast like tarameah i think thats how you spell it , its in sicily an hour drive from catania and is like the amalfi coast. go to puglia a province on the heal of italy and its breathtaking or the cinqueterra area wow.
Yes, Italy is amazing, so much beauty everywhere. Spain has some beautiful places too though.
Japan is also really high on our list, but we haven't been able to make it there yet.

a week, and then for a few more days we lived in Castellammare di
Stabia. From there, we went on excursions to these wonderful cities of
Amalfi & Positano. Nothing has changed since then. Only in the lens
of your camera there are a lot of people in masks. Six years ago, there
were no masked people...

I was there 2 years ago as part of a day trip that included a) the Amalfi Coast, 2) Pompeii, and 3) Positano. By the time we got there, I was exhausted from climbing around Pompeii, and the last thing I wanted to deal with was even MORE climbing. I wish I had known about an elevator somewhere. Positano is GORGEOUS, and 3 hours was not enough to cover it. I need to go back.
Oh yes that elevator is a life-saver haha.
Pompeii sounds really cool and we're going there next time. We would also love to visit Naples and hopefully make it all the way to Sicily.
Hey, Kim & Naick! Have missed a few of your videos and am looking forward to catching up. This one had great drone footage! Loved the comments about the stairs (and the heat). I feel your pain as I’m not far from you. Yes, I finally made it over to this side of the pond! Yesterday we were in Sonagno and I thought of you when we visited the falls. We opted not to climb up, but went down onto the rocks and soaked our feet in that refreshing water. Thanks again for all your videos that kept my hopes up for the time I’m having now!

It is piece of heaven. We visited in 2018 we had great time and food. Highly recommended for honeymooners. Just get your legs ready to climb 1000s steps everyday.

Strong drone work naick and Kim! Just curious, any info on who is traveling these days? Is it mostly Italians doing staycations??? Or are there a significant number of other international travelers? Are they doing vaccine passports?
Yes in August there are loads of Italians on staycation there because a lot of people in Italy are on holiday from work then. But there are a lot of international travelers too, we heard many people speaking Dutch haha. The covid rules depend on your nationality and it changes all the time but for Europeans you need a covid passport so either be fully vaccinated, have a negative covid test or recovered from covid. For US citizens there used to be these 'covid tested flights' where you would have to get a test before leaving the US and then get another after arriving in Italy, but I think that was relaxed recently. For up to date overviews of the covid entry requirements you can easily fill out the questionnaire linked here and it automatically tells you what measures apply to your specific situation in just a few clicks: infocovid.viaggiaresicuri.it/index_en.html

In Italy you can rent a scooter with a regular car license until 125cc (which is what we rented). Above 125cc you need a motorcycle license

Yes you do need a license in all of the EU now. Various countries are implementing it at different rates, so it's not super clear yet.

Positano is beautiful ...... But Capri is better! However there is also Sorrento, Ischia, Procida, Bacoli etc .... You should take at least a month of holidays to discover all the places in Campania!

What is the name of the restaurant at 13.30
is it doable to just rent a scooter for a day from atrani to positano then back since we only have 1 whole day to spend since we are planning to go to capri the next day.
In terms of time that should be possible if you are experienced driving a scooter (Amalfi coast is not the place to learn, trust us). Atrani is right next to Amalfi, about a 45min to 1 hour drive from Positano. I think you can rent a scooter in Amalfi but you'll have to book ahead. With one day you can browse the towns a bit but you won't have time to explore too much so keep that in mind when planning

We leave our bag on the beach and keep an eye on it when we're in teh water.
