This is America at her best! Hard nosed squeaky rattly and almost impossible to handle at the limit BUT.... oh so beautiful. Pure America. The word for this car is FREEDOM.
The car is worth more than that it’s the most beautiful 76 I have ever seen whoever gave that video a thumbs down needs a slap upside the head wish I could afford it
The 455 was discontinued for 1975 Trans Ams and Formula Firebirds but was brought back the summer of 'that year. It was only available as a 4-speed. It was continued up thru 1976 then dropped. Power for the 455 was around 205 horsepower. The 400 cubic inch engines were rated at 185 horsepower but you could get an auto or stick. In 1974 the 455 was rated at 250 horsepower and the 455-SD (super duty) was rated at 290 horsepower.
The arm-power windows. It has a back seat but I don't know what far? You can't get 4 adults in that thing. Ha. I had 76 Formula 400 Dark Blue. So much fun. Automatic though. 8-Track, Booster-Equalizer 6x9 speakers. Plus the ole CB radio. Ha.
In '76,the 455,only was avaiable with a 4 speed. The 400 was available with either manual or auto. These 455's are getting hard to find with the original engine
With any vehicle, when you put bigger tires and rims on it, you also need to change the speedometer gear in the tailshaft housing to make the Speedo read correctly
One of my good friends back in my high school days had a 76 455 w 4 sp. Silver/black w a red interior and hood decal... SWEET!! Drove it and it was FUN! Love this channel, Nick!! Keep up the great 'work'!!😉👍
Have eternally been IN SERIOUS LOVE with the Firebird TransAm, but NEVER bought one 1) physical injury prohibits bucket seats & 2) no real HP under the hood: it LOOKS boss but doesn't "cut it" when put to the test... I'll spend 4x this much on a TransAm RENEGADE 455 SUPER DUTY custom build... Black w/red Hood insignia, red pinstrip, spoiler, T-bar roof, titanium drive shaft, track rubber, RACING BRAKES, custom audio, smart surveillance WITH forward scan radar... $124,995 as I've been quoted... Only ONE custom builder makes them...💜
I drove one of these to high school my junior and senior year. I had a red one I graduated high school 1984. Drove the car through college as well. Good times me and my friends had that car. Took a lot of road trips back then. Fuel was $.89 a gallon.
I remember my 77 formula...it was heavy low and a lot like driving a truck it was definately a hammer where as newer phony sports cars are more like a ball point pen. This Trans Am is heavy duty...a straight line monster and one of the very last American Muscle cars. Beautiful pure and confounding to the new generations. I love it.
Not a true muscle car as starting in 1975 government mandates required that automakers limit horsepower due to high price gasoline and EPA emission laws. 1975 marked the first year of the use of power robbing catalytic converters and dual exhaust was illegal or no longer available with a V8. Nice looking car doh. ......actually the only thing good about cars made from 1975 to 1979 is that the motors were not tied to a computer... yet. That meant if it was allowed in your state you could modify these cars for more horsepower. But starting in 1980 all cars’ engines were monitored by a computer and that meant for any performance modifications you had to reprogram the computer otherwise the car would run like crud. So really the moral here is to arm yourself with some automotive history so that you know what you are buying to avoid any possible disappointments
Yeah you can tell it started off as a good car before they restored bc of how nice the body gaps are. I’ve had a few of these and when they are rode hard they literally loosen up and rattle apart. Very hard to get the gaps right.
Whoever was forced to part w/this classic was either in tears &/or has serious regrets? If this was one of those “me or the car” situations, I’d of helped pack her baggage…
Rich Arab and Iranian students owned many of these when I was a freshman in university in the late 70's. I remember the demonstrations when they'd be screaming something about the Shah of Iran, and the American students would scream back, "Sell your Trans Am's and go home!" Ha ha.
Wow, really solid TA. Looks like you changed your route a bit...congrats on the lot getting paved...feel free to drop 3 of them cars off at my house. Ill take great care of them 😁
I had 77 Firebird Esprit. It had a 350, it was white, had rally rims, an automatic trans and blue interior with crushed velour (yes, velour) seats. It was very comfortable and made a good cruiser.
@@alonzoprovider2987 Find someone that can recalibrate it, mine always read about 10mph too high with the rear tires, very annoying when you are doing 40 but it reads 50, slowed me down i guess lol
I'm loving the 1970 Dodge Coronet in the background the yellow one and I really wish I could afford it but I'm on medical disability and I'm alway in over here in Florida and I just I've always wanted one but I just had cannot afford this type of Rice's but I do thank you for airing the car I mean it just takes my heart away oh my gosh I wish I could have it my credits bad and everything so it's not even worth the effort trying to finance it
this is a nice car...little to do to get it real nice. last year for 455 t/a and only came with 4 speed...auto required the 400. back in the the day, late 70's while working as a used car lot boy, biggest burnout i ever did was with a twin to this car, except red interior...epic. Lots of cheap used muscle back then...the lot boys would vote on their favs for burnouts...this was mine, along with a '72 Eldo.
Wrong Decals all around, the Decal behind the door is not suppose to be there. If I remember right the headlight ring are Chrome, Never seen Blacked out ones. Grill inserts have chrome edges on front
This car is nice, very nice. I have ridden many a mile in both a 76 and 77. I always loved pulling up next to one of these in my 68 396 Camaro that made about 525hp 4 speed and 514 gears. Usually a burnout in second gear on the line lock was enough to make em say, uh no. Sometimes they said yes and they were soon looking at the back end of a black 68 running off from them, no matter how much they tried.
This is a beautiful car I had one of these back in the 80s I loved everything about it except that 455 cubic inch engine packed a whopping 200 horsepower😖
Amongst other things as well. I had one brand new it came with a 2:41 ring and pinion. Pathetic ratio rear gears, 7:61 compression ratio, restrictive intake manifold.
Beautiful car. May have had a paint job and re-decal as I don't think those graphics were around in '76 (at least mine didn't have those). This is gonna sell fast!
Those are the 1979 decals. It looks like a repaint. It too white. Cameo white has a yelloish bud to it. I have a 79 white trans am with the same decals.
I bought a76 in1980 paid 3500 for it! Miss that car! It had a working scoop and SD 455 badges on the scoop and engine that looked original . Did they mark cars that were not actually SD455 ?
Those Crager style wheels take me back to when I was a kid in the 70's and thought white smoke out the tail exhaust was a good thing! 😆 the innocent mind! Not talking cold start white exhaust either!!😆
Beautiful car, but don't be sucked in by the 455....it's not an SD or HO. It's only 200HP. My 2016 4-cylinder Turbo Hyundai will give it a run for the money.
This is America at her best! Hard nosed squeaky rattly and almost impossible to handle at the limit BUT.... oh so beautiful. Pure America. The word for this car is FREEDOM.

I love watching these videos. Only thing is they break my heart because I’m not rich. But I can still daydream.
My suggestion would be to find an isolated road or highway and NAIL IT !!!! Wide open throttle!!!
Who agrees with me?

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the wheel and tire combo on this one. Beautiful Car!
That is a beautiful ride
I owned a 77 Firebird and 78 Trans Am with a 400 and both automatics it’s a nice car. Enough to relive my youth LOL.
In '76,the 455,only was avaiable with a 4 speed. The 400 was available with either manual or auto. These 455's are getting hard to find with the original engine

Only if you change the diameter more than an inch or so, up or down. Width changes nothing. Just to be clear.
Maple motors inventory, love it!
One of my good friends back in my high school days had a 76 455 w 4 sp. Silver/black w a red interior and hood decal... SWEET!! Drove it and it was FUN! Love this channel, Nick!! Keep up the great 'work'!!😉👍
That is going to sell fast!
Now that’s a car that’ll get you attention, especially at gas stations
Nice

455 , yeah it will be sold fast . I love to drive along . It's awesome. I'm waiting for my ( that's it car ) and buy on the spot . 👍🏻👍🏻
This thing is a monster. I’m in love! Have to have one now! ❤️😍🥰
not really it has to be the SD modal the regular 455 was a dog
@@vinniecatullo6037 No SD in '76 ... and yes, that 455 was a super dog.

Looks like a small tear in the front seat...car only needs 3 things...headers..a small cam..and sitting in my garage...I really like this one!
Yeah you can tell it started off as a good car before they restored bc of how nice the body gaps are. I’ve had a few of these and when they are rode hard they literally loosen up and rattle apart. Very hard to get the gaps right.
Agree, and maybe some lower rear gears.
cool car and matching number makes it worth more
Thumbs up for that bit of tire spin. Nice care too.
That looked like a real pleasure to drive, quiet interior on the road. Quite obviously well taken care of.
Whoever was forced to part w/this classic was either in tears &/or has serious regrets? If this was one of those “me or the car” situations, I’d of helped pack her baggage…
I really like this one. The old school cragars are a perfect fit.
Rich Arab and Iranian students owned many of these when I was a freshman in university in the late 70's. I remember the demonstrations when they'd be screaming something about the Shah of Iran, and the American students would scream back, "Sell your Trans Am's and go home!" Ha ha.

Very solid transam there, keep in mind the speedometer never reads right after different sized tires are put on the rear.............
how to make it read correctly if i dont want to change the tires?
@@alonzoprovider2987 Find someone that can recalibrate it, mine always read about 10mph too high with the rear tires, very annoying when you are doing 40 but it reads 50, slowed me down i guess lol
What a great car for a great deal. All I would do is headers, cam, and a lower rear gear. What a beauty!
I'm loving the 1970 Dodge Coronet in the background the yellow one and I really wish I could afford it but I'm on medical disability and I'm alway in over here in Florida and I just I've always wanted one but I just had cannot afford this type of Rice's but I do thank you for airing the car I mean it just takes my heart away oh my gosh I wish I could have it my credits bad and everything so it's not even worth the effort trying to finance it
Does the shaker lid work it should be functional on the shaker
And it’s a 4 speed stick. That’s awesome.
Give me a Diablo sandwich and a Dr Pepper, and make it fast I’m in a dead gum hurry! LOL! Love the car, keep them videos coming

Nice to see the dash isnt cut up and has original AM radio with console 8 track..
Wrong Decals all around, the Decal behind the door is not suppose to be there. If I remember right the headlight ring are Chrome, Never seen Blacked out ones. Grill inserts have chrome edges on front
Love those crager steel wheels very much the period of the 1970s style very cool
That's spot in looks wise, especially with Cragars
Had a orange one with black interior same motor and transmission. Had 53,000 in 82 she was a nice ride with some power .
Nice TA Nick.. those 455s ain't no joke
Matching numbers....that's what I like!
Me too!
3:27 Whoa! The music just turned on!
Talk about a period correct time trip! I love the Crager's, but wonder how she'd look with honeycomb or rally wheels. Sweet ride!
Since I've been watching your channel your prices just keep going up and up and up. Very cool TA though
Beautiful Trans Am! Sounds very healthy and strong. Someone got themselves a really nice car! Wish it could have been me,
Beautiful car, they might not be a horsepower champ still had a good torque band that car would be a nice cruise car and the horn works sold.
Wow my car beautiful looking amazing car beautiful colours thanks Nick
Glad you like it!
More often than not it's fuses causing your electrical issue.

12:47 15:51 Sounds like Beaker from The Muppets in the back seat or something! Hahaha!
The most important question is does the 8 track work. 😁
Always loved the t/a’s
40-45 yrs between paving's..sounds about right
Sweet T/A with a 455.
Absolutely beautiful
Very nice car, I wish they put the correct bird on it! Great color combo.
Would have been better with a 77-78 bird on hood, instead of ‘79
This is a beautiful car I had one of these back in the 80s I loved everything about it except that 455 cubic inch engine packed a whopping 200 horsepower😖
Nice 👍!
Oh man I want to drive this 🛺💨
Back in high school I could buy that car for about $ 2500.00
Fantastic car. Thanks.
That would be super sick if it had the Honeycomb Rims, Nice condition i'd buy it.
200 net h.p. stock. Catalytic converters killed the 1975 engines.
Amongst other things as well. I had one brand new it came with a 2:41 ring and pinion. Pathetic ratio rear gears, 7:61 compression ratio, restrictive intake manifold.
Love it!! Let's see if the kick down cable is hooked up!👊
If I had the money I would buy that in a heartbeat
Hope to c the NEW lot construction 🦺‼️before n after,,,👍
Beautiful car. May have had a paint job and re-decal as I don't think those graphics were around in '76 (at least mine didn't have those). This is gonna sell fast!
Very cool!

Hue* it’s not a creamy white but it’s not bright white either.
T/A at Maple Motors!
had a black one just like it bad ass in the day
nice dash for a 70's car!
Sweet ride. That will be gone by this weekend.
Looks like somebody got themselves a nice '76 TA.
I bought a76 in1980 paid 3500 for it! Miss that car! It had a working scoop and SD 455 badges on the scoop and engine that looked original . Did they mark cars that were not actually SD455 ?
Good looking car for Speed Yahoo Good Times :-)
Ok, test drive it brother. Blessings.
Getting famous off comments day 193, so I can live the dream, live everyday like it’s your last day🤙🤙
I guess you know now how low to go, without dragging the light for the undercarriage shots now. Lol Nice T/A thanks Nick.
Those Crager style wheels take me back to when I was a kid in the 70's and thought white smoke out the tail exhaust was a good thing! 😆 the innocent mind! Not talking cold start white exhaust either!!😆
Amazing find
awesome TA
Thanks!
Takes a big block a while to warm up. Once it warmed up, get that baby out on the interstate and let the horses go!
O yeah, thats the ticket right there
That's my style!!!
Beautiful car, but don't be sucked in by the 455....it's not an SD or HO. It's only 200HP. My 2016 4-cylinder Turbo Hyundai will give it a run for the money.
This one was somewhat decently/properly priced.
man if I didnt live in another country and I had the money I would be buying this one
Sweet ride.
She’s so nice it hurts to watch.
Beautiful car
Keep posting those beautiful cars hopefully one day I will be able to buy one from you
