Musicals that use existing songs in them are referred to as jukebox musicals. And Moulin Rouge is my favorite jukebox musical movie. Mamma Mia is probably the most famous jukebox musical.
What a great surprise! I’ve seen this so many times, and Nicole Kidman is an Aussie legend 🇦🇺 I’m guessing it’s even harder to not get copyrighted on a musical! 💜
I've seen this movie probably 100x and it still makes me get misty-eyed. Love this movie! If you enjoyed this, might I suggest Little Shop of Horrors... more comedy with all original songs, or Rocky Horror Picture Show... which is just all on it's own.
When they first meet satine is acting strange bc Zeidler told her that the Duke might prefer a "smoldering temptress" approach and she thought Christian was the Duke at first 😂 she was acting that way cause she thought that's what he wanted. But Christian was really trying to just recite poetry and tell her about the play idea. Once they're caught, everyone just improvises on the spot so the Duke doesn't leave and not fund their endeavors. They all just want to make a living entertaining.
😅" what's the movie called?" The song lady marmalade was rearranged a bit and sung by Christina Aguilera, Mya, Pink and Lil Kim. It was originally sung by Patti LaBelle. It fits perfectly with the movie since Satine is a high class escort/courtesan. She was basically seducing the Duke so that he'd finance the play and keep all the other people employed. Also absinthe is a really strong alcoholic drink but back then they added other mind altering substances which made the high even more intense.
This was supposed to be uploaded on Friday but copyright 😭 make sure to watch party 2 ruclips.net/video/U24K_bdUOc4/видео.html

As a Nicole Kidman fan. If you have not seen To Die For you should and please react to it. My favorite movie of hers!
I wanna watch all her movies, I've seen a lot though I think few left
I saw this during the Summer I was at KC Art Institute on the Big Screen when it came out.
