I'm fine with them trying to go for a psychopathic version of cinderella. I just wished that maybe towards the end they could have portrayed her psychotic ways by ordering one of her sisters feet to be cut off (instead of the sisters doing it themselves), probably due to her making up some lie about them. Kiyoko can also kick out people who doubt Kiyoko. Since you can keep only the dolls you like, by the time her sisters-in-law come to the mansion, there are already only gullible people left in the mansion.

I haven't seen this anime and was expecting this clip to be about Cinderella snapping and finally killing her abusive step mother. I really want an adaptation that does that.
Kiyoko’s a psychopath, manipulator and a skilled « Chessmaster » version of a manipulator. She’s a textbook psycho but charming. Quite an intriguing character.
I LOVE HER. she's my embodiment of pure sophistication and joy. 🥰 I mean, who wouldn't want to wreak havoc if you have that burning dark passion in your heart, right?
The story still retains the events of the original, but at the same time adds mysterious details to Cinderella and the characters, gradually leading viewers to the true context of the story. I like how the characters don't really see who's right or who's wrong in the story, there's only acting, lies and who's being manipulated, who's manipulating and who's going to be freed.
So, unrelated to this particular story, but here's a theory: -I think Gretel did exist at some point, but due to an old japanese superstition of twins bringing bad luck, the parents, in the anime, must have killed her, leading Hansel to create his own Gretel. But then he travelled to another world (which I'm starting to think might be ground 0 for a future adaptation of Peter Pan), and unable to let her go, especially because he was the only child there, he created a split personality, leading him to become that woman in Pied Piper. The question now is how he got the cloak, which must be the explanation as to how he acquired that form in "Pied Piper".
I rather liked this unique spin of the story Atleast way more refreshing than Disney just telling the exact same story again and again with their remakes Also them being japanese actually made sense with them being in Japan, not just race swapping for no reason that Disney also loves to do Like I dunno, maybe Little Mermaid remake would have been more accepted if everyone else were also person of color aswell, not just Ariel
I wasn't expecting an evil Cinderella... and The count will her doll forever What an adorable little psychopath always the cute and innocents you got watch out for....
I wonder what "Kingdom Hearts" would look like if it had these stories and their vibe. Perhaps then, finally Riku and DiZ would meet some karma. Naminé too, but the former two deserve it more. I can actually see "Red Riding Hood" story being integrated in the "Union Cross" storyline. It would be SOOOOO fun to have her as an antagonist. Perhaps someone who's rejected by both light and darkness, due to how insane she is.
Speaking of "KH", there are two fics of it that may interest those in this fandom who know that saga: "The Twilight Will" - a Roxas centered fic in which he refused to merge back with Sora. Gathering all of his power, he escapes, travelling to realms beyond "KH" that were unnafected by the war, as such, maintaining light, darkness and nothingness together. Worlds include "American Mcgee's Alice", "God of War" and "Bioshock"; "Sea-Change of Fate" - this one is a fic series. Kairi deviates from the script predicted for her, choosing to accompany Sora, Donald ("Ducktales" reboot version) and Goofy on their journey after "KH 1". Now, the author uses mostly the manga elements (making fights more violent), along with exploring the sexuality of the cast more, it's true. But they integrate it well in the story. Plus, it's refreshing to see Kairi, Sora and Riku behave like actual teens whose hormones and emotions are all over the place. And seeing Maleficent, though a bit unwillingly, bond with the likes of Riku, Vanitas and Naminé is very cute. The cast may feel kinda dirtier, but also more sincere than in canon. So yeah. I suggest these stories here, because like the "Grimm Variations", both explore a dirtier side of whatever it is Nomura may executed more poorly in canon. I highly recommend them.
Yandere's at least have an object of obsession that they express their love for. In Kiyoko's case, she doesn't have anyone like that, she just sees everyone as dolls to use and throw away when she doesn't need them.
That's what Disney should do , embrace Source materials darkness in remakes There's even an anime Little Mermaid film that does more justice to source material than both Little Mermaid films
Anime needs more Kiyokos in my opinion. Love characters who create horrible drama and sow seeds of destruction everywhere they go for nothing but petty amusement.
Impresionante es lo que puedo decir de la serie de Netflix las variaciones de grimm, la historia de la Cenicienta 👌👌. Lastima que las hermanastras escaparan de las garras de Cenicienta 🤣
Are you saying what you've been doing with the sisters? ok, I have them too and I'm glad they're free. But the STEPMOTHER AND FATHER WERE UNFAIRLY KILLED. And she manipulated their deaths, it was very cruel
Damn and I thought I was a psychopath. I couldn't imagine doing what Kiyoko did to her mom, her dad, her stepmom and her stepsisters. How come the two stepsisters never got a sample of one of Kiyoko's teas that she was making their mom and get it tested? They could have outed this malicious brat!
How? How did they do that? With these Cinderella horror movies remakes they’ve been trying to make over here in the West. None of them give me a sense of dread, but rather complete boredom. I mean, there is one that is legit going be Carrie with Cinderella name. And yet, in just 3 minutes. This made me tense, and it doesn’t even try to overly subtle. The girl is a psychopath. She’s fully aware of it and even loves it. That what make this unsettling.
I'm just frightened for any heirs that Kiyoko and the prince have together. That kid will really have the same tale as the one found in Cinderella, Kiyoko would be the evil "mother". How can a "mom" even see their own kids as a toy? God, just the thought of what Kiyoko and that doll will do to her future offspring, it's the bigger unsettling possible future plot point. Kiyoko will have three daughters of her own, she'll treat two of them like how the stepsisters were treated in the fairy tale while the youngest one gets nothing but her ire and abuse. I really hope the count wises up to her act and doesn't let Kiyoko take abuse their daughters with her sick Cinderella fetish.
Does the brothers appear in all the stories? I know they are two of "missing children" in Hansel and Gretel at the end and a pair of photographers in The Elves and the Shoemaker
God damn i never seen a character like this that had no motivation behind those kill and sees people as a DOLL ? even a Most viled Murderer Had at least One and that had lil bit of sense in it but her.
I can’t tell when she became so messed up and manipulated person. I keep asking myself if her talking doll corrupted her, if her suddenly changed personality happened after her birth mother's death or if she was born messed up.
Come to think of it, The Grimm Variations remind me a lot of Code Geass in a way, given the animation settings of the show. Would you say I'm wrong, my fellow anime fans?
I wished we had a Marvel based horror game/mini series focused on Power Pack (Warp World version), Franklyn and Valeria Richards. Something "Grimm Brothers" like. Please, tell me there is !
I did like the concept of an evil version of Cinderella but the episode is predictable and the ending wasn't dark enough imo. Would've been better if it was revealed the step sisters didn't get away from kiyoko and she was keeping them imprisoned somewhere for her to take "good care" of them
No, I think it's better that they got away, but through no method of their own. Every method they've tried, only had them deeper in her clutches. The one time they left it up to chance, they finally managed to get away. With no money, no mother, and no home... But they had each other. I think that's good enough for me.
@@akobe4785 Yeah, since you probably don't know any version of the Cinderella other than the same old story. I know I don't. If you enjoyed it, good for you. But I didn't. And as far as this series is concerned, it is the least innovative and interesting of the bunch.

Kiyoko is what I'd describe as psychopathic cinderella syndrome, manipulation and death are the only things she knows and finds pleasure in...though not all psychopaths are killers, it's amazing the act she put on so that everyone pities and adores her with no one ever questioning it. She even killed her father, because he thought that his stepdaughters were menaces and was going to deport them, and that would mean Kiyoko losing her two favorite dolls.
0:48 They be the Most Perfectly Timed Musicians Ive Ever Seen
@FRISKYBABY Every episode is themed on another famous musician, right? I don't recognize this one, but I especially loved the Beethoven / Western - Crossover. 😊
Is it an original soundtrack or a variation on a classic piece?
@@mk-ki4ls some are based like Beethovens 5th Symphony in the wild West had guitar also playing I think the other music minus fur Elise is original to the anime
@@AnimeOpZombie In the Elf and Shoemaker story, it's Bach and its Impromptu Fantasy ; in the Bremen story, it's Beethoven ; in the Pied Piper, it's Debussy and its Arabesque ; and in the Little Red Riding Hood story, it's Edvard Grieg. For the rest, I don't know but I heard some Mozart pieces in Cinderella
@@art_hist_2000 it would be nice if there was a ost list for this anime
I haven't seen this anime and was expecting this clip to be about Cinderella snapping and finally killing her abusive step mother. I really want an adaptation that does that.
I feel sorry for Prince Charming. He has no idea what he’s getting into
Kiyoko’s a psychopath, manipulator and a skilled « Chessmaster » version of a manipulator.
She’s a textbook psycho but charming.
Quite an intriguing character.
I bet her kids are gonna be just like her. I bet once they get bored of her and their father, they're going to get rid of them.
@@myaparker5510 Maybe
I don’t think there’s going to be a sequel though
@@biancamariavalenti8050 I know there won't be a sequel. It's just a thought.
I LOVE HER. she's my embodiment of pure sophistication and joy. 🥰 I mean, who wouldn't want to wreak havoc if you have that burning dark passion in your heart, right?
Are these stories really as disconnected as they seem ? I can see connections between that of "Pied Piper" and "Hansel and Gretel" for instance.
Children can be such monsters
The story still retains the events of the original, but at the same time adds mysterious details to Cinderella and the characters, gradually leading viewers to the true context of the story. I like how the characters don't really see who's right or who's wrong in the story, there's only acting, lies and who's being manipulated, who's manipulating and who's going to be freed.
I think that’s the idea behind “Grimm Variations”.
So, unrelated to this particular story, but here's a theory:
-I think Gretel did exist at some point, but due to an old japanese superstition of twins bringing bad luck, the parents, in the anime, must have killed her, leading Hansel to create his own Gretel.
This version of Cinderella is Pure Evil.

I was starting think "Never Gonna Give You Up" was starting to play.
Cinderella becomes a villain
Cinder Fall from RWBY: Hey! Wanna join our fairytale villain league
Let happily ever after be damned, I say. Let the blood crazed queen reign.
May all our tales end so well.
Until next time.
This isn’t the last time I see Cinderella as villain
Cinderella as the villain. That is a cinderella version I haven't seen before
right here 1:44 , she was behind her biological mother death as well. Not only her stepmother.
Thinking all of her evil schemes is so cool andso cool to watch
I rather liked this unique spin of the story
Atleast way more refreshing than Disney just telling the exact same story again and again with their remakes
Also them being japanese actually made sense with them being in Japan, not just race swapping for no reason that Disney also loves to do
Like I dunno, maybe Little Mermaid remake would have been more accepted if everyone else were also person of color aswell, not just Ariel
kiyoko is like half keoghan's character from saltburn and half cartman. I mean come on! She has conversations with her dolls for crying out loud!
LMAO…i like the cart man reference 😂😂😂😂
Yo this ain’t the Cinderella I used to know
Yeah this was fun to watch it was a very twisted and different take on Cinderella but that’s why I found it so enjoyable 🥰
I think Kiyoko would hate me. I've hated dolls ever since the age of 10. Something about their emptiness deeply upsets me.
Damn this Cinderella story is dark, and I’m all in for it
Now this is my kind of fairytale
Another anime that is almost unheard of because it’s on Netflix.
Disney's Cinderella: 😱
I wasn't expecting an evil Cinderella... and The count will her doll forever
What an adorable little psychopath always the cute and innocents you got watch out for....
Speaking of "KH", there are two fics of it that may interest those in this fandom who know that saga:
"The Twilight Will" - a Roxas centered fic in which he refused to merge back with Sora. Gathering all of his power, he escapes, travelling to realms beyond "KH" that were unnafected by the war, as such, maintaining light, darkness and nothingness together. Worlds include "American Mcgee's Alice", "God of War" and "Bioshock";
"Sea-Change of Fate" - this one is a fic series.
This is the best part in the episode
Riliane liker spotted
@@UnluckyGolfsih Hi another Riliane enjoyer
So, if she doesn’t live happily ever after… does she die a gruesome death?
I love the piano music it’s somehow is calming
Yanderella
Yanderes at least can feel some love(even if it is toxic), she arguably doesn't really feel any love for her peers.
Sociopathic sadist more like. For Yandere she lacks any dere.
@@mrksimka1159 She is actually a psychopath because she has always been like that since young.
Yandere's at least have an object of obsession that they express their love for. In Kiyoko's case, she doesn't have anyone like that, she just sees everyone as dolls to use and throw away when she doesn't need them.
I thought she was a yandare at first, but turn out she is more of a yadepycho
Bro she plays her role so well
I like this version of Cinderella. It made it look like her stepsisters is treating her terrible.
Johan Liebert reincarnated dear god
2:49 Kamen Rider Evolto is really interested on this Cinderella Dark Side.
Where can i find the soundtrack in this video??
Busco lo mismo jajj
This was the only episode l really seemed to like.
That's what Disney should do , embrace Source materials darkness in remakes
There's even an anime Little Mermaid film that does more justice to source material than both Little Mermaid films
Good Dance Anime 🎉
Anime needs more Kiyokos in my opinion. Love characters who create horrible drama and sow seeds of destruction everywhere they go for nothing but petty amusement.
God love the music and storyline and everything else 💙✨💙✨🎉🎉
No, she is a sociopath not a psychopath
What's the difference? Because I never understood what is a sociopath.
Was the doll real or was that in her head like Hansel
Is this a song from an original soundtrack or does anyone know the name?
Are these stories really as disconnected as they seem ? I can see connections between that of "Pied Piper" and "Hansel and Gretel" for instance.
For people who are into classical music....which track is this? It sounds a lot like La campanella
Does the brothers appear in all the stories? I know they are two of "missing children" in Hansel and Gretel at the end and a pair of photographers in The Elves and the Shoemaker
Ame mucho esta historia
Was Cinderella always like this in the original Grimm story.
In one of the versions, at least. It wasn't the brothers' though.
@@JabamiLainOh you caught me curious, author of that version? 😲
God damn i never seen a character like this that had no motivation behind those kill and sees people as a DOLL ? even a Most viled Murderer Had at least One and that had lil bit of sense in it but her.
Did she kill her birth mother or her stepmother I haven’t seen the anime yet?
Her stepmother, but now that you're saying it, it would not be crazy to think that she killed her birth mother too. Even if the anime doesn't tell us.
I can’t tell when she became so messed up and manipulated person. I keep asking myself if her talking doll corrupted her, if her suddenly changed personality happened after her birth mother's death or if she was born messed up.
@@deenaozaki2583I interpreted the doll as her talking with herself. There’s no talking doll she’s just lost it long ago
@@mrksimka1159 , so she was just hallucinating her doll. If you says is true, then that might means she must of destroyed doll during the timeskip.
@@deenaozaki2583I don’t mean hallucinating whole doll. Just movement and speech. The toy is physically there.
I think i watch the wrong cinderella
What is this music piece??
She is truly sinister
This real evil.
Alguien sabe el nombre de la canción (Vals) ??
Come to think of it, The Grimm Variations remind me a lot of Code Geass in a way, given the animation settings of the show.
Would you say I'm wrong, my fellow anime fans?
I want the name to that tango... is incredible i love it ❤❤❤❤ who know the name to this tango, if can tell me?
I wished we had a Marvel based horror game/mini series focused on Power Pack (Warp World version), Franklyn and Valeria Richards. Something "Grimm Brothers" like. Please, tell me there is !
This episode is so interesting and referring I forgot the episode was called Cinderella
Please let this ball music be on Spotify someday
Cinderella wins
Flawless Victory
Fatality !
I did like the concept of an evil version of Cinderella but the episode is predictable and the ending wasn't dark enough imo. Would've been better if it was revealed the step sisters didn't get away from kiyoko and she was keeping them imprisoned somewhere for her to take "good care" of them
Tf is wrong with you
Why?
Why the original story but Cinderella actually being evil an interesting concept for you?
No, I think it's better that they got away, but through no method of their own.
Every method they've tried, only had them deeper in her clutches. The one time they left it up to chance, they finally managed to get away. With no money, no mother, and no home... But they had each other. I think that's good enough for me.
@@ibrahimihsan2090 because it's the most different and unique version of Cinderella for me.
@@akobe4785 Yeah, since you probably don't know any version of the Cinderella other than the same old story. I know I don't.
