Was 10 when this song came out in '89. Back when MTV actually played rock still. I remember sitting on my living room floor and loved this video. Brings back memories.
I just want to say thanks to the cult and the label for not taking this down. I listen to this at work even though I own all the albums sometimes I need my fix and this is the way I get it... Thanks for not being assholes, I will keep buying your label and when my cult CD's get scratched, I go buy more :)
I saw these guys live 4 times in the 80's and 90's...they were exactly this awesome live. Maybe more. Saw them with MEtallica, Billy Idol, Guns and Roses, and as a headliner. WOW!!! Listen to them
My wife's Native American name is "Lowak Ihoo" (Chickasaw Indian interpretation of "Fire Woman", and she LOVES this song (and The Cult) with all her heart!
I used to love doin 125 mph in my brand new '92 Firebird with this song blasting out the CD player down IH-35 on the way to the border, brings back memories, tnx.
Astbury was one of the 80's great frontmen. What a song. Reminds me of cruising in my 1983 Toyota Corolla with holes cut in the back shelf for speakers with this song on full ball.
This reminds of whats good in America, rock radio stations!! When i was Fort Lauderdale in 86 cruising around in my hired Pontiac Grand Am,this song was always on the radio.Cool song and is still cool today.
Fantastic song...no matter how often I hear this song (even though I know what's coming) the searing guitar intro just blows me away each and every time! Great musicianship! I just checked out one of their 2011 videos here and they still rock the world!
The Cult is one of the biggest under rated bands of all time. They should be bigger than they are. They rock harder than any other band and you don't hear a voice like that coming from bands today. Ian has one of the most original and powerful voices today. Just my 2 cent. Merely my opinion.
I never get tired of hearing this tune. If you're having a bad day or just can't get going...pop this tune on. Before you know it your banging your head and stopping your feet!
I can never get enough of this video and this band. Ian was just incredible and the hair added to it..Amazing vocals and they kicked butt on those instruments. The Cult was one of the best 80's bands, but there were so many compared to the thrash that's on the radio now..This is real, heart pounding music. Love it!
Back in the night I would walk into the Rainbow Bar and Grill and head upstairs for the dance floor... when the deejay saw me on the floor he would put this song on for me. BEST song to dance to! OH YEAH!!!!!
GREETINGS FROM THE GREAT STATE OF ARKANSAS SO GLAD TO KNOW THAT YOU FINALLY GOT SOME MORALS AND AND AND STUFF LIKE THAT TRY TO FIND GOD NOT BEING AN EXOTIC DANCER GLAD YOU DID THAT'S NASTY AND DISGUSTING THOSE ARE JUST WOMEN WHO DON'T WANT TO WORK A HARD DAY AND DON'T WANT TO CLEAN THE BATHROOM OR GO CLEAN THEY JUST LIKE TO DO THAT STUFF IT'S JUST AN EXCUSE CUZ THEY'RE DISGUSTING AND VILE AND MN HORRIBLE PEOPLE THEY HAVE MENDED ALL KINDS OF NASTY KIND OF SICK PERVERTED MEN GO TO THOSE PLACES WHAT WHAT WHAT IN GOD'S NAME WOULD POSSESS A WOMAN TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT SICKO HO-HOS SICK TO THE CORE MENTALLY ILL ARE COMPLETELY MENTALLY ILL ANY WOMAN WHO WOULD DO THAT THEY'RE JUST A GLORIFIED PROSTITUTE UGLY INSIDE AND OUT DISGUSTINGTHEY WANT MEN TO LUST AFTER THEM THESE NASTY MEN THE SICK PERVERTS THAT GO TO THOSE PLACES AND THEY THINK THEY'RE GOING TO HEAVEN WHEN THEY DIE
This song kicks ass!!! The Cult are one of the most overlooked bands of all time. They consitantly put out scortchers like this. This video is like going to the most major kick ass concert ever!!!
No matter how ill or down I am, this song always picks me up. I think it's vecause it reminds me of my lady. She loves it also. She truly is my "Fire-woman" I love you Melyssa babe.
I was in a cover band in the late '80s and early '90s. Every single average girl who drove a Subaru liked to imagine SHE was a "fire woman" . We must have taken a hundred requests for this song, but refused to degrade it by reducing it to a bar song. I'm glad we did... this song was and is unique; it has deserved "classic" status from day 1!!
Good job. Thought the level was a little low in very beginning...then forgot I was listening to volume....and just rocked! That's a sign of good work... Thanks for uploading the jam...
This is one of the songs of that era that initialized an epiphany: that my (late gen X born 79) generation's music (90's trash) was garbage, and to appreciate quality tunes, one needs to look to the past. Long live Classic and 80's American Rock Music.
I was about 11 years old when this song came out. Sonic Temple was the very first album I ever bought. This is my all time fav song not just from the Cult but altogether. I need a daily dose of this song like oxygen. Can not get enuff of Firewomen. I prob have listion to this song about 500.000 times in my life...lol
I saw these guys open for Metallica 89 or 90 ( And justice for all). I slurred my words until lunchtime the next day because of the volume. I wish I could rewind time and pay more attention to the warm up act. I love this song travelling/cajoling the wife.
good memories from the past years,.,., specially from the city of houston, i really like the cult,.,,.,., to those from houston, i still remember the 101 klol radio station,.,.,. playing goood music as this fire woman!!!!!! wow shes getting closer,.,.,.,.
Cult fucking rocks man, no matter the sound or genre every band has brought something to the rock scene, these guys brought the alternative sound. This is an awesome song, fucking classic. \m/

In 1990 I thought this was the best thing I had ever heard in my life. I still think so today.
The Cult is one of the biggest under rated bands of all time. They should be bigger than they are. They rock harder than any other band and you don't hear a voice like that coming from bands today. Ian has one of the most original and powerful voices today. Just my 2 cent. Merely my opinion.

This is one of the songs of that era that initialized an epiphany: that my (late gen X born 79) generation's music (90's trash) was garbage, and to appreciate quality tunes, one needs to look to the past.
Long live Classic and 80's American Rock Music.
The most under-rated of the great rock songs.

I dedicate this song to Mark Hayes.... one of the funniest best friends I ever had... and he could ROCK this song! RIP markcell...
It always amazed me how Ian went from looking like a pirate/Axl Rose hybrid in the She Sells Sanctuary to how he looks in this video.
Love this video. The video Love Removal Machine is ultimately what precipitated me leaving my husband--now ex. I fell in love the first time I saw Ian. Love you!
