10 dislikes??? Who would not like a song about God? Yes it's true...The Messiah Will Come Again ! This is soulfully and spiritually played by Henrik ! God bless you, my brother ! you are a truly gifted and blessed guitarist and a musician...I admire and salute you.
now i heard 4 versions of,,the messiah will.... all great players but only roy buchanans version touches me deep in my heart.so sad that he can not see that all those great players give him tribute°!!
Agree and thank-you for saying it. I have to admit this was excellent, but he did like Gary b/c no one has touched Roy. You put that so nicely, but I can’t hold back. I love Gary, but this song is only Roy’s... when I hear another guitar player play it, it just makes me wish I was listening to Roy. I think it’s because it isn’t only the guitar skills that made this song, it was the tortured soul who wrote it and then could play it in an almost unearthly way. Roy was very religious, but, also an alcoholic. He had demons, and faith. He played it like a prayer and the devil was chasing him... he has no tricks, his soul just speaks in perfect emotionally. Gary, although masterful at the guitar, plays it in a rather earth-bound way. He’s just an excellent guitar player, that’s all. This is the only song I talk like this about... I understand if you’d think I’m goofy, but I still had to say it. R.I.P. both of you, enjoy playing together in heaven.
The very best performance of this song ever...Henrik just made that Les Paul screamed, cried and sung out for "pain"...what an amazing, talented and gifted guitarist ! Gary Moore would have been proud and amazed of this guy doing a tribute for him...:))
Seriously these tributes to Roy are fabulous, but there has never been a cover of this song that comes close to Roy's own guitar prowess. Still, Henrik has a much more soulful voice than Roy had, which is why I love listening to his songs like The Memory of our Love.
He did Roy's tune, real justice... Hat's off... Though it does sound different on a Gibson than Roy's Telecaster... When you hear this song, it's easy to see why Gary Moore, Jeff Beck, Clapton, and even Hendrix all wanted some of this style... Roy was truly a quiet genius who spoke very passionately with a guitar...
Absolutely. Roy Buchanan had a profound effect on me. I was lucky enough to see him twice. That's why I have a Telecaster and a Vibrolux! I never put the Gary Moore thing together until you mentioned it and now it's plain as day. By the way---Henrick is no slouch! Thanks.
So true Roy was a great player I got to see him down under Australia in the late 70's still remember it to this day and this song is simply one of the best to see Roy's fury is imbedded in my memory 🎶 🎸
Bravo! Henrik. Best of all Gary Moore covers I have seen on RUclips. Please continue keeping GM 's style of playing alive. Greetings from Maryland, USA.
This is no Gary Moore cover, the late great Roy Buchanan wrote this in 1971.This is some fine fretwork for certain but nothing compares to Roy's original in tone or feeling, the original is just mind-blowing and mesmerizing.
The hell with all you negative people and your negative comments ! This cover of Henrik is the best, he was trying to pay tribute to Gary Moore...Gary Moore's version and this one of Henrik's the best, bar none...Disagree with me or not, you can all go ahead and learn to play like this guy or Gary Moore, and see how you will sound, you won't probably even come close...LOSERS !!
Oh what a GREAT guitar player, too awesome for me to imagine even......so so cool & beautiful. Glad i found this on line to give a listen...thanks xo LoLa xo
I really like this guy! Yeah this version is based on Gary Moore's take of the song. I just read a bio of Henrik Freischlader and it listed Gary Moore first on a list of guitar influences & didn't mention the great Roy Buchanan. Apparently Henrik got his ideas on this version from Gary Moore. Roy may have died before Henrik had a chance to see him play live. Well I just noticed Henrik says "Gary Moore" at the end..so there you go.
Check out greek Billy Merziotis playing this cover live in high quality .. thats probably the best cover on You tube .. bIllys tone and playing simply is much better
John Winters This guy has much better feel, and a better tone. From the first minute or so of that other cover, Billy Merziotis is over-bending all over the show.
James Wilson Henrik is just good, Billy Merziotis is best by far...! Henrik he has not the feel of Gary,no vibrato and Not the same attitude and sound! and of course he don't have the voice... I'm sorry but Billy have it all!
Henrik uses realtone amps usually but at this gig he had a problem with his amps half way through his set and had to borrow a fender combo (i think it was one of the hot rods maybe a deville) from someone in the audience. He sounded just as good as with his realtone amps. Its all in the fingers.
i wouldn't like to consign anyone to the "sounds like" circus, and i dare say this man has his own view on it......but this is the closest i have heard to that special tone and emotion! maybe not quite as good as gary...but beautiful all the same!
Gary's version was played on my sisters funeral, but this version also give me goosebumps..... Cheers Henrik, Danke schön..... 😢
Glad the man's Les Paul didn't catch on fire, did a great job !
Roy may smile in heaven, bravo!!!

+BRUCE ALCORIZA Amen and amen.
What a fantastic version!
Great!! I take my hat off to you, sir!!
A lot of Gary Moore's feeling is expressed here!
This dude is killing it.
Holy Jesus! My mind is blown! Fantastic!!!
Mind blowing tribute to one of the greatest tones.
now i heard 4 versions of,,the messiah will.... all great players but only roy buchanans version touches me deep in my heart.so sad that he can not see that all those great players give him tribute°!!

Wow, I've just uploaded a version to RUclips - but now I want to take it down again! Henrik is fantastic, I REALLY enjoyed that.
The very best performance of this song ever...Henrik just made that Les Paul screamed, cried and sung out for "pain"...what an amazing, talented and gifted guitarist ! Gary Moore would have been proud and amazed of this guy doing a tribute for him...:))
Watch Gary Moore from Montraux 1990 then make the statement.
@@johngoodchild6949 Gary Moore's live recording in 1990 is the best. By far.
Seriously these tributes to Roy are fabulous, but there has never been a cover of this song that comes close to Roy's own guitar prowess. Still, Henrik has a much more soulful voice than Roy had, which is why I love listening to his songs like The Memory of our Love.
blues isn't about skill..... soul n emotion...... bravoooooo
Keep Roy and Gary alive!
hell ya
Stevie Ray - Gary Moore - Keep Roy
Magnifique, wow ❤❤❤
Well played Sir.
This guy killed it! And that is in entirely a good thing! Awesome, the spirit of Gary is here in this tribute.
Wonderful interpretation! Thank you!

Amazing skills!!! Both Roy and Gary would have been very proud to have heard that performance.
Powerful!!!!
Thanks for sharing, Tripsybon
Sure didn't expect that. Very good. The vocal intro Roy does adds such poignancy...would love to see that added. Such a passionate song, nice cover.
Bravo! Henrik. Best of all Gary Moore covers I have seen on RUclips. Please continue keeping GM 's style of playing alive. Greetings from Maryland, USA.

This is very much a Gary Moore cover. It sure as hell isn't a cover of Roy Buchanan's original.@@williamhiggins842
Love this song..great tribute to the late greats gary&roy..and the song has great meaning especially now ;)
The hell with all you negative people and your negative comments ! +1 This guy did an amazing job, great tone, great feeling. On par with the best players.
Dam Brucie Chill

Oh what a GREAT guitar player, too awesome for me to imagine even......so so cool & beautiful.
Glad i found this on line to give a listen...thanks xo LoLa xo
Excellent. Thanks for another great video! :)
Kopfhörer an...Welt aus! Yeahhh Henrik :-) Megaaaa
Hendrik....you make me happy :D
Mastery on par with Roy and Gary!
Seems more like a tribute to gary moore, than it does Roy
I like this - agreat tribute to Gary Moore and Roy Buchanan, but still a personal touch
cool we have the same favorite guitarist: Mr. Gary Moore
but Hendrik plays it very well,
I think the dislikes are because he credited the song to Gary Moore when its Roy Buchanon song
Congratulations, man. Feeling!
Best version ever damn it !
Excellent
...luv it
Great video and excellent sound Tripsy.
Really Excellent. Aloha, Evan
How can anyone "dislike" this???????? They must be possessed.

What an amazing tribute to Gary Moore! Same guitar sound! Love Henrik’s Blues For Gary tribute album.
Great video Tripsy.

Yeah Tripsybon, Henrik is a best german-blues rocker!!
sehr geil !
Great ¡
Roy Buchanan's son.
That was so pretty!
O YES...pretty!!!
So very eloquently executed
Anyone giving a heads up to gary is fine by me.nice playing, nice tone too.well done that man.
Grande suono bravissimo
Roy Buchanan, Gary Moore and Henrick Freischlader. Three Gérard hère.
Great 👍
This is an admirable cover. Still prefer Gary's cover, Gary had this song down to the root of his soul: but this is damned good.
Das ist verdammt guter eigenständiger Sound. Weiter so, Jungs!
Is amazing! Is the best fusión than i see betwen Roy Buchanan's, and Gary Moore! (JS)
BREATH ty ty ty
👌🤝🙏
Glory to Christ
It is more like Gary's variant, than Roy's. But somehow he makes the impression lf Gary's song sound along with Roy's sadness.
The band did a great job too ;)
👏 👏Bravo 👏 👏
Except for Gary’s, this is THE best version ever played. Just stellar. 👏🫡
❤Really great & good played!! Enjoying it!! Who is meaned with the" Messiah"/his name? Lyrics please?🎉

Guuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut!
no he playes real tone amps, that is a german boutique amp company, on the pedal site, I think there are some fulltone pedals in action...
👍🔥🎸🦅
WWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW !!!!!!!!!!
***** I agree with you, Gary is extremely intense, but Henrik is also deeply intense !!!
Check out greek Billy Merziotis playing this cover live in high quality .. thats probably the best cover on You tube .. bIllys tone and playing simply is much better

A pair of Matchless amps. Maybe two Chieftons!!
Why is he constently adjusting the tone and volume knobs
