Anyway these are pickup trucks designed for torque, longevity and ability to be used off-road which the Amarok fails at. You can wind the boost up on any engine it will make more power. But an Amarok will not last 500,000kms. There is a reason they have given up and the next one will be a Ford.
yeah theses are tuned, l200 and dmax an very slow stock, all those can`t be as fast as an Amarok, which in other vids, clearly show that it leaves all behind, even the 4 cylinder one, but it`s a pickup not a race car, so that doesn`t matter
The Isuzu with the D-Max engine seems to be the hotrod of this lot. It has a pleasing exhaust note with a good sounding intake roar and it clicks off each gear with authority.
I own an Isuzu Dmax 1.9 and that is just how Isuzu usually does things. It accelerates quickly however it doesn't have much acceleration above 100. And that is definitely how it sounds.Althought I believe this one might have some soft tuning done to it cause I dont remember any Isuzu sounding like that when it shift gears.
And about the acceleration you have a truck transmission made for pulling more than speeding If someone can put a VW DSG transmission and that engine you'll see the fun 😂
Mitsubishi L200/Triton or locally named Strada [here in the Philippines] were being already an acceleration test within kilometers per hour among meters per hour
Is the triton and dmax really 8 secs?....i thought they were more like 10 secs....anyhow...the amarok is the best once tuned...can get 5.5 secs....mine did before i put 33s on it
the MR triton is 10 ish seconds (i own one) the Dmax i drove felt slower but was manual and my triton is auto. triton can get 7.5seconds with a safe tune probs more if you don't care about breaking it
They all must have been chip tuned, since engine lights are on. The Ranger normally is limited at 170 km/h and the 2.0 stock would also not run any faster. I own a 3.2 and there is also a limiter at 175 km/h Tachometer Display. Even the 3.2 does not accelerate like the 2.0 shown here.
I would go for the Toyota Hilux Revo 2.8 Might not be the fastest or quickest at acceleration but it will be the cheapest to service and repair and will last longer than the others.
Buh Mitsubishi are the best, till to date the older models are very fast comfortable compared to some modern cars tho maintenance it's expensive En this l200 it's better in moose test tho it's airbags are not as good as the Toyota Hilux

Some of the trucks are clearly not a stock (standard) truck, and definitely the written description of truck's specification are not the same as they represented in the video.
Variable total odometer readings, fuel loads, outside air temp differences between 16 deg & 31 deg C. Two cars had the check engine light on. With turbo diesels, all those variables make a huge difference. Worthless comparison in my opinion.
lol ive had my pj ranger for 14 years and the fastest ive ever pushed it was 150 kph , didnt see the need to go any faster but it happily towed a jayco camper trailer at 130kph for numerous hours in remote northern territory albeit with great fuel consumption , that being said after 13 years it still drives extremely well ,no smoke or problems at all .
Was the test done on the same surface and with same camera mounting styles? The shakes on each car seem a little different and i am interested in that.

Being honest if you get one of this trucks you won't use it to speed race most of the guys who get this trucks they use them for off road and outside jobs like on the fields and stuff like that however all of them run super fast specially that Amarok and the D-max I love them! 🤩
I had a Ranger T6 3.2L (brand new) for 3 years and sold it after the warranty expired (Ac problems, rear axel problems). I replaced it with the Amarok V6 3L and never looked back. They should not even be compared and in the same class. The Ranger was built in Thailand and the assembly was terrible. The suspension was also terrible (truck platform) and was the same price as the Amarok. The quality of parts were mostly crap for the price as most of the part were purposed built for the truck (Not shared on any other vehicle). On the other hand, for the same price. The Amarok (also bought brand new) is built on a Audi Q7 platform and assembled in Germany. They pulled the engine from the Porsche Cayenne with the beefier 8 speed transmission. The parts are all higher quality (seats, steering wheels, head lights, interior finish) as they are shared on other vehicles at VW/ Audi and Porsche hence the economy of scale. Also, the four wheel drive system is way superiors to the Ranger's who's 4WD system looked like it was from the 1980s When driving them side by side, there is no comparison. The Ranger should be 10.000$(us) cheaper but isn't. Note: The Ranger I had was built in Thailand because it was built for the Asian market.
Makes me laugh the amount of people who look for speed and acceleration from a pick up truck. It's a truck man, built to be a workhorse, as long as it's got the torque to shift your stuff around who cares. Buy the one that does the job you want it to do well and make sure it's a reliable one, it's a workhorse after all 😂
shit's changed man, they expect that diesel need to have a comparable performance against gas engine I do hate this because it kills manual truck, but race for the efficiency is not so bad as long as the truck don't broke itself

In my place, trucks like listed in this video are tend to run faster than normal cars on highway. I once owned L200 and that is more comfortable over 70 mph and quicker than my Suzuki SX-4. Also in my places, most companies drives mini trucks and commercial trucks for delivery their goods. Compact cars and sports cars are less affordable in my places, so they drive US styled pickup trucks just for acceleration.

Nada concluyente. Cada quien hace los videos como puede, pero si se trata de comparar, se debe tener en cuenta la cilindrada del motor, el modelo y los kilómetros recorridos. Es evidente que la Ford tiene un fallo de motor, más de 20 mil kilómetros y únicamente es 2.0, aun así estuvo a la par de la navarra.
mmmm el isuszu y la ranger con el motor alterado( la computadora) check engine on mode, ósea y de alli bueno los motores muy forzados no es buena señal al final se desgasta muy muy rápido el aluminio del block , de alli la comedera de aceite y echadera de humo...
@@duncMAC150 yes, in my experience speedometers tend to be less accurate the faster you go. Mitsubishi speedos tend to be the worst. I’ve seen them reading 7km/h out at 100km/h.

that's pretty close to where she'd top out, i had a manual 3.0L PJ and it didnt have much more over ~160 down hill
I have mine for same time and got 180kmh. That test was not fair as it was a 2.0l not the 3.0l
The Ford Territory is better than Ford Ranger.
i got 210 when the max speed was 200 but that was because the place was cold and diesel engines run better in cold dense air

You know in order to approach to these speeds it is better to put the cover carpet in the wagon so the air flow through it and not inside the wagon

you could probably give a 5-10% inaccuracy to the speedos
@@duncMAC150 yes, in my experience speedometers tend to be less accurate the faster you go. Mitsubishi speedos tend to be the worst. I’ve seen them reading 7km/h out at 100km/h.

Manual transmission could give the best results
So the Dmax was manual!!! Clearly not a fair test, different outside temps too!!!! And some had work done to the motor!!!!
