  • What will happen when the increase in automation causes our jobs to cease to exist? Will it be necessary that we all receive a universal income for just existing? Eduardo Levy Yeyati ponders on this alternative for a future of uncertain work. Eduardo Levy Yeyati, a civil engineer from the UBA and PhD in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, is an Argentinean and founding partner of Elypsis, professor of economics at UBA and Torcuato Di Tella University (UTDT) and research associate at the Research Center In UTDT Finance (who ran between 1999 and 2007) and the Center for International Development at Harvard University. He has been Visiting Professor of Public Policy at the Harvard School of Government, Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CIPPEC (ad honorem), Head of Research for Latin America and Head of Emerging Markets Strategy at Barclays Capital , Financial Advisor to the World Bank for Latin America, and Chief Economist of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic.
