I am originally from Japan. My family had many Kokeshi dolls back in the day from my grand parents. You can buy those different prefecture in Japan as souvenirs but I forgot which prefecture, they are known for original Kokeshi doll are made, they are all handmade them with hand paint by artist which cost a lot of money and those artists are not many exist like used to be, so some of them are very expensive.
🎄 Evening Tina, and thank you. Slowly I’m learning that some of these really do have great value, and like you said it seems to be depending on who made it. 💚
That first vase is gorgeous!! Same with the signed amethyst, and the blenko! Tissue boxes are cool, love them! Love the blue light cover/vase?! A smiley face sheet???!!! -Love!!!!
Love thrifting with u!! I love the blenko and the signed small amethyst vase!! I love how honest and sweet you are! I’ve learned from watching you and other RUclips re-sellers (free education!!). Thanks for the video Yvone!
🎄 evening Tina, you are welcome and thank YOU. I learn a lot from other trusted thrifty reseller RUclips channels as well, I actually taken a lot of RUclips content, sometimes I’m only listening while I am listing or shipping.. But it is very helpful for learning ... for Freeee like you said 💚💚
Love the tissue box! You are such a fun RUclipsr to watch! You really stay up to date with the trends. And you are such a great teacher. Love love love this vid!!
I'm loving your videos and learning so much. You're so positive and generous with your knowledge. Thank you for sharing with us. I'm pretty sure the characters on vase essentially says Made in Japan. Lol. The decorative bowl/light cover is cool either way. Love the pattern.
🎄 i’m not 100% sure what it is but I think it should be a vase or planter... it has a little flat surface on the bottom and sits nicely... that shape is really interesting ... i’m glad I bought it 💚💚
I love the smileys, they were my thing when I was in school, people still associate me with them. Smiley even became my nick name at one of my 1st jobs out of school! I'm glad you're keeping the smileys going
Hi red was your colour today thanks for sharing your life. ENJOY YOUR VIDEOS IM A PICKER FROM 1977 been collecting I love so many things to look at and displayed all over the house I have to start purging and selling tons of clothes I have and collectibles. Selling everything you can think of including a kitchen bathroom sink lol. Wish we had a for market in windsor ontario I would love to stay all day AND sell sell sell.
Hi Yvon, I love your videos. I really enjoy your thirst for learning. And you have taught me so many things that I didn't know. You make it so exciting. I would thrift with you all day long.
🎄 evening Denise, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that so many of you support my channel and just let me be myself. I mean I do try to edit my videos, and you know add some interesting elements but I really don’t like to spend a lot of time worrying about them... And I know if I make a mistake on something I said that one of you will fix it for me and everybody. 💚💚💚
Yes I I am always pulling back those stickers to find out the item I’m purchasing. I film with my phone too. That’s a nice red ombré vase. Enjoyed the thrifting and haul.
🎄 evening Miss Sunny, I am so glad to know that many of you are enjoying the clothing as well... there is money to be made in reselling second hand clothing for sure 💚💚
🎄 evening Helen, yes it had been a little stretch since I posted, sorry about that... You and I hang out in some of the same other Channel’s side chats so we get to see each other a lot 💚💚

Learning so much from your show. I'm new at this and having so much fun. Also, doing youtube shopping! Take care. Millions of questions...but learning. Love when you talk without the mask!!! lololol
🎄 evening Cheryl, thank you I definitely try to share some valid tips, I don’t know everything, and I miss things that have value that I haven’t learned yet... but what I love is that somebody will comment for me and teach us all... it’s a win-win for me 💚💚 i’ve noticed that I’m getting a lot of people that are new or wanting to try reselling as well, perhaps the pandemic has a lot of people off of their regular jobs and needing to make some cash or they just think it’s finally a good time since they’re home more anyways ... I think I should add a weekly live chat Q&A 💚
PS, I know the mask really muffles the sound of my voice and sometimes makes it hard to understand, I’ve started trying to lift it up a little bit if there’s not too many people around me, but it is the law here and plus I do not want to get sick 🤪
Yvon • Thrifty Rich -Thank you so much for your reply. I was going to ask if you had a Facebook page and then found it! So happy to see! I am finding it ‘interesting’ For lack of a better term, how many times when I watch over my videos afterwards that I am missing important items that I should have picked up. But I guess I Should not be so hard on myself as I am in the learning stage right now. My regular RUclips channel talks about travel and cruising but I picked this up mainly to advertise things that I’m selling on my Etsy store. Been so much fun. Looking forward to your next video. Thank you so much and happy holidays.
Just found your channel today Yvon and subscribed! Enjoyed today's video - you found some great items! Love the amethyst Smyers vase 💜 and the Blenko jug 🧡. Good luck with your postings. Hi from 🇨🇦!
🎄 hello Stephanie, thank you for giving me a chance and subscribing, I really appreciate that. Yes I had another good trip to that Goodwill, that is my favorite location for sure 💚
🎄 Evening Sandy, Thank You ... I got a lot of help on that one in the comments and it turns out that is worth a little bit of money, I just listed it about 10 minutes ago ♻️💚
🎄 evening Rachel, girl, I literally was just standing there while filming trying to recall some basic information that I used to know off the top of my head 🤣🤣🤣 I even edited out a little chunk of it ... hopefully it’s all still in there somewhere and as I start working with clothes again for a few weeks my brain will switch modes for me and help me out 🤪😅
🎄 evening Anna, well I admit I’ve done better in other videos, I really didn’t have the lighting set up very well for showing tags... so I at least tried to make sure to write in the name for anybody interested... thank you for watching and so much for leaving a comment of support, I really appreciate it
Hi Yvon, New sub here. I love Ikebana, I used to have a beautiful blue vase that I would place a single branch from a blooming Redbud, it was stunning!
🎄 morning vintage conversation, I can totally understand the principle behind it.. I think I will do one for my home as well 💚💚 PS thank you so much for subscribing and giving me a chance, I really appreciate it.. I hope you’ll always add comments of your adventures or if you see something you have information that you can share with all of us 💚
The Blenko pitcher is lovely. Great haul. Hope the purple vase turns out to be worth plenty. You might ask Nancy on thisOverstuffedhouse. She grew up with a Japanese Aunt and knows a lot about Kokeshi doll artists.
🎄 evening Beth, thank you for the comment and support, yes I will have to work on that little purple vase some more, probably get to it next week... thank you for the referral to Nancy.. I think I follow her on Instagram??
We don't have to put flowers in them, I know what you're talking about with just one flower. But I love just the look I never did put flowers in my vases. I love just the beauty of the vase. I am so jealous of you, lady you have the best thrift stores ever. It's beautiful, I hope you get a bunch of money for those vases. Ask Scott if it's a light cover he knows. New Years is coming up so maybe you can sell it soon.
🎄 this is true, we can certainly do what we want ha ha ... do you mean Scott the curiosity shop? Yes my thrift stores are still so good right now, y’all know I am grateful 💚
Some great finds! LOL at the Senior moment, my husband and I have started a Senior moment short hand, not sure it's working as we just stare at each other and say you know what I am talking about, right you know? . Love the Blenko and that blue glass piece that you thought would be a light fixture shade. Would be gorgeous on an entry hall table or sofa table. I think Pier 1 closed all of their stores. If not all most of them.
🎄 evening Lynne, I seriously was just standing there while filming, I edited out at least a minute 🤣🤣🤣 yes I think Pier 1 is going online only from what I’ve heard, I haven’t googled that story yet 💚
The tissue box is from Iran. This type of work is called Khatam Kari and it’s difficult to make. They are typically very expensive. You can search by the key words.
🎄 morning N M , thank you several people have commented that it is Persian, and that it is worth the money and that I did well .. so thank you for adding more to the testimony.. I appreciate the way so many of you leave comments to help me out and anybody else watching 💚💚
🎄 Lisa I think I answered you on one of your other comments about this, I left you a little link to my listing which I think is priced a little high now that I compare it to what others are saying on eBay
Are usually start with EBay, and then I’ll back it up with a general Google search and see what’s going on on other platforms, if it’s a really unique item there might not be any on eBay or just a few and perhaps people didn’t really know what they had so I always check a few different sources 💚💚💚♻️♻️
Yvon, the elephants plate/bowl, what is it? Please let me know in here. I picked up one recently and put $35. On it. I think mine has an elephant and rhino, or zebra. I will look and see come back.
🎄 well Lisa, I have another place that has that African safari seen in a little lake sauce bowl and I think there’s some kind of soapstone, I have to go back and look at my listing now it’s been a while
www.ebay.com/itm/293524795866 That’s my listing, it has a few watchers but no one has sent in a good offer, I may need to re-vamp that listing and try harder to know exactly what it is, But pretty sure they’re souvenir pieces of course
I figured I'd stop by to let you know I commented about your iridescent iris plate on one of George's videos because I had a trout plate from the same place in Alaska. Mine just sold for $45! I hope this helps you a little bit :)
🎄 evening Kayla, i’m sorry I did not see it, of course I don’t get notifications on other peoples videos... I haven’t started working with that plate yet, but I can tell you I’m not sure if I will even sell it... I love the dichroic finish on it... but wow $45 is a decent profit so ??? 🤣🤣🤣 yes that plate is signed by an artist and said Alaska if I remember correctly... it’s still sitting in a box of cool stuff that I need to make decisions on 🤣🤣💚
Hello Yvon, nice video, but I have to share. I went to a new (to me) auction house last night, and they had NIB smile face blankets 50×60 so like a throw size, after looking at the packages they were all different smile face emojis, which I thought of you when I saw them. Kind of went fast. But if I got one I was going to show you. Not sure of the quality which worries me, but wanted to share. I was also watching your video at 1:30 Am eastern standard time, and exhausted. But take care.
🎄 awwww Charlotte, you are always so sweet and supportive to everybody... I know it has been Several days since I posted, the holidays you know, Little related chores keep popping up 💚💚
🎄🎄 evening Rosemary, nice, thank you... it helps to hit the notification bell too, not that that is any guarantee you will get a notification in a timely manner.. but maybe🤣🤣🤣💚
Laura at Leftcoastrevivals buys those dolls and knows a lot about them. Apparently there is a video on u tube that shows how they are made in three parts.
🎄 I think you’re the one that first told me that Florence was like a little touristy antique Center, I’m definitely going to go down there when the pandemic settles down 💚
Hello I replied to you first and have to reply to everyone else after I do my shipping... The tag says size small and here are the measurements: Shoulder to shoulder is 16 inches Sleeves from top shoulder down or 19 inches long The bustline area, Measured across the back because it is open drape in the front, is about 20 inches, as flat and unstretched Fabric is pretty luxurious and has a four way stretch Comfort The embroidery is quite nice as well, if you want more pictures contact me on Facebook instant messenger or Instagram direct message I will probably list this for about $38... But if you want it, I can do about 28Dollars
@@janesalganik8411 how interesting. why do you collect those, can I ask? I think one would have to be a fantastic artist to hand paint so small in great detail. I have a few bc I appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into making them.
Any style, like Regular candlestick I wouldn't want anything like 2 too 23 tall I wouldn't want something that big I like the little round ones with the little put your little finger in in it I like to stag room different heights candle brass candlesticks I did purchased 1 pewter candlestick but I haven't been able to find another 1 I would like to have another peter it was round with the little size to it pretty much Any style in in I like to mix and match things and I like different heights of things. Thank you so much for responding I appreciate it.
🎄 evening Deb, no as far as the vases I sell most of them, I keep a few every now and then because my husband does buy me flowers every week... but mostly I just resell... on planters, same thing I sell some and I keep some but I put live plants in them ... Some fake because I’m doing a jungalow style section in my home and some areas don’t have a lot of sun
Just FYI: That little black lacquer trinket box at the thrift shop is Russian and some of them go for quite a bit of money. Just search Russian black lacquer trinket box on eBay.
🎄 Evening J Lynn, yes thank you very much, several other comments came in about Palekh... I spent some time looking at comps over on eBay and wow some of them go for a lot of money so thank you too
Yvon, you are so beautiful! Thanks for the great videos! I’ve just started selling on ebay. Like you, I’ve been watching a lot of youtube videos and always learn something new from each one. Good luck with the booth! Btw, why is the image in the second half of the video reversed?
🎄 Hello 811, well I hope you’re having fun with it, I know that there was a bit of a learning curve with EBay but it is totally worth it. I think the software I used to film that flipped it, I noticed that too and I don’t even have a clue besides that?? 🤣🤣🤣
Yvon, I love your videos! So excited for you that you are getting a booth. I have had an antique and vintage booth here in north central Pennsylvania ( about 2 hours north of Jocelyn) since September and it has done really well. I have that system too where I get an email every day that tells me what has sold. Black Friday blew me away! I sold 3 times my rent plus. Anyway, good luck with your showcases and your future booth! ❤
@@adelaidemorningstar1870 🤣🤣🤣 girl I know what you’re saying, but I can’t say it to loudly because I live in Colorado Springs, The home for van Briggle 😎
🎄 morning Rhonda, I can tell you this is an excellent time, with the pandemic worldwide online shopping is blowing up again.. now there is a bit of a learning curve to EBay but I can assure you it is totally worth it. There’s definitely one of the best platforms out there. Now depending on what you have a passion to sell, I can help direct you to other RUclips channels that have great content for selling on eBay... I will probably start to do an eBay Q&A live show again since so many new people want a little help getting started Right now 💚💚♻️🤑
🎄 I don’t think very many of them were bobble heads, I’d have to go back and look at her solds now, but I’m having fun learning something new, we’ll see what happens💚
I think that tiny small black lacquered box could have been Russian. I can’t remember the name but if that was what it was might have been worth something.
🎄 evening Nancy, yes I am learning now from so many other comments that I need to pay attention to those... several have dropped the name Palekh... And when I used that to look up comps on eBay, some of them were very very interesting
🎄 hi Susan, I will look into that, I think we’ve settled on that it is Persian, i’ve got a few comments and private messages that it is Persian... but regardless I want to google what you just told me and know what the heck that is 💚💚
🎄 awww it was kind of sweet, I did pick it up and look at it for a few seconds for sure, thought about it... i’m sure someone else came along that really really loved it and it’s got a happy new home somewhere 💚

I picked up that same 3 smiley face vase, thought of you when I found it 😊
🎄 evening Sammie, I know it’s modern but it’s still cute as can be, I’ll be keeping that one for myself of course
Josilyn love ❤️ the Japanese dolls
🎄 yes she’s been all about those lately, i’m following along as she learns 💚
@@YvonThriftyRich I have seen them but don’t feel the urge,,,I stick will old old,,,not into trends
I love them too they’re just darling
@@YvonThriftyRich Yes The old curiosity shop, He does a lot with that shape globe if It's a globe.
Don't know if it's true, but a dealer told me once that RED glass used at Corning Glass Works has GOLD in it so it costs more to make.
I’ve heard that from several sources as well, not sure if that’s still happening
Yes, rhino and elephant in more of a peach color. $25. Is that good. Do you know who makes it? Thank you for all your help.
🎄 Lisa I think I answered you on one of your other comments about this, I left you a little link to my listing which I think is priced a little high now that I compare it to what others are saying on eBay
What do you use to find the value of the items? Ebay or something else?
Are usually start with EBay, and then I’ll back it up with a general Google search and see what’s going on on other platforms, if it’s a really unique item there might not be any on eBay or just a few and perhaps people didn’t really know what they had so I always check a few different sources 💚💚💚♻️♻️
Yvon, the elephants plate/bowl, what is it? Please let me know in here. I picked up one recently and put $35. On it. I think mine has an elephant and rhino, or zebra. I will look and see come back.
🎄 well Lisa, I have another place that has that African safari seen in a little lake sauce bowl and I think there’s some kind of soapstone, I have to go back and look at my listing now it’s been a while
www.ebay.com/itm/293524795866
That’s my listing, it has a few watchers but no one has sent in a good offer, I may need to re-vamp that listing and try harder to know exactly what it is, But pretty sure they’re souvenir pieces of course
🤣🤣🤣 yes that plate is signed by an artist and said Alaska if I remember correctly... it’s still sitting in a box of cool stuff that I need to make decisions on 🤣🤣💚
PS THANK YOU 💚
Hello Yvon, nice video, but I have to share.
🎄 thanks for watching, don’t lose your sleep though 🤣🤣 I’m glad to know I’m not the only one that likes smiley faces
This video made my weekend 😘🥰🥰🥰
🎄 awwww Charlotte, you are always so sweet and supportive to everybody... I know it has been Several days since I posted, the holidays you know, Little related chores keep popping up 💚💚
Lol I was wondering why I wasn't catching your videos 😅, I really thought I had subscribed to your channel! I did it now, I pushed that button!
🎄🎄 evening Rosemary, nice, thank you... it helps to hit the notification bell too, not that that is any guarantee you will get a notification in a timely manner.. but maybe🤣🤣🤣💚
Blenko pitcher/Worthpoint - honey color sold in 2017 for $20.50, Amethyst $75 in 2011, Olive Green $26.75 in 2018, teal $29.99 in 2020
🎄 whaaattt? Some of those prices seem way too low for a piece of Blenko from1967... well we’ll see what happens???
Laura at Leftcoastrevivals buys those dolls and knows a lot about them. Apparently there is a video on u tube that shows how they are made in three parts.
💟💜 hi Monique, I absolutely adore Laura... Selena too of course 💕
@@YvonThriftyRich 💞
Your so cute, I'll put it in the cart a minute...thanks for your videos so I know when to put items back...which is my problem
I had a booth on Florence Colorado,,it was good before Covid
🎄 I think you’re the one that first told me that Florence was like a little touristy antique Center, I’m definitely going to go down there when the pandemic settles down 💚
Can you tell me the size of the champagne velvet embroidered jacket?
And how might I buy it? 👍❤️😉
Please reply.....
Hello I replied to you first and have to reply to everyone else after I do my shipping... The tag says size small and here are the measurements:
Shoulder to shoulder is 16 inches
Sleeves from top shoulder down or 19 inches long
The bustline area, Measured across the back because it is open drape in the front, is about 20 inches, as flat and unstretched
Fabric is pretty luxurious and has a four way stretch Comfort
The embroidery is quite nice as well, if you want more pictures contact me on Facebook instant messenger or Instagram direct message
I will probably list this for about $38...
But if you want it, I can do about 28Dollars
Yvon, who does the shipping for the fragile items? Do you do it yourself or somebody else??
I do it all myself
Some Russian folk art lacquer trinket boxes go for good money.
O' Yvon get through brass candle sticks.I will buy them I looking for some.
🎄 evening Vernell, what kind of style or shape .. and size are you looking for? 💚
The small black lacquered box you left behind is hand painted russian 'Palekh' , and has value.
I would have picked up the Russian hand painted black lacquer box to resell too.
@@audrawilkens6640 I actually collect those, but I've never seen one in the thrift store, probably was a bargain
🎄🎄 ohhh girls, yes... I just googled that over on eBay so I could teach myself what you were talking about, OK it is noted and thank you very much 💚💚
PS Hi Audra 💚💚
@@janesalganik8411 how interesting. why do you collect those, can I ask? I think one would have to be a fantastic artist to hand paint so small in great detail. I have a few bc I appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into making them.
At 5:10 that vase just says "Japan" in big writing :D - as for the sticker though, I don't know.
🎄💚 OK I think I have a general idea of what you’re looking for, ones that are kind of classic??
Yvon if I send you a picture, if you don’ t mind, could yo tell me if it is fire and light?
🔥 Sure Jewel, you can use Instagram or Facebook instant messenger if you don’t have those I’ll give you my email
I enjoy watching your videos, but this one needs better lighting. It is hard to see.
Red glass is always worth more because of the pigments they have to use to get the red.
Do you make arrangements in all the vases you buy
I spent some time looking at comps over on eBay and wow some of them go for a lot of money so thank you too
Not every vase needs to have greens or flowers! A piece of pottery or glass can be placed by itself on a bookshelf or case or table.
They used to have to use real gold to make red glass, so it cost more to make.
Is your video is dark or is it on my end..love your video
🦋 Hello, no my video is not dark when I watch it?? My thrift stores use bright fluorescent lighting
🎄 ohhh, thanks for the testimony that is very inspiring 💚
Pier one closed in CT
🎄 they closed here as well, I haven’t googled it yet but someone mentioned that they are going to do online only?
Red glass is more expensive because it has gold dust in it. thats why. :)
🎄 ahh, I kept meaning to look it up because I heard different stories and really wasn’t sure
Sometimes the dullest vase has the most value,,like van brickle
🎄 LOL, I hear you about van Briggle, I look at some of them and think, this isn’t even finished yet 🤣🤣
@@YvonThriftyRich I just never saw they captivating quality of van briggle,,,,it’s like a lump of something

I’m thinking about selling on eBay but I don’t know how to go about it
🎄 morning Rhonda, I can tell you this is an excellent time, with the pandemic worldwide online shopping is blowing up again.. now there is a bit of a learning curve to EBay but I can assure you it is totally worth it. There’s definitely one of the best platforms out there.
Now depending on what you have a passion to sell, I can help direct you to other RUclips channels that have great content for selling on eBay... I will probably start to do an eBay Q&A live show again since so many new people want a little help getting started Right now 💚💚♻️🤑
Josylyn hers are bobble heads....I think.
@@YvonThriftyRich I have a little box my brother gave me many years ago. That’s how I knew that. But thanks for filling me in on the name.
It takes gold to make red glass and red glaze.
Yvon you're so cute!
🎄 🤣🤣🤣 well thank you Deb ... sometimes I can be very serious but often I feel like a little kid fascinated by life‘s mysteries and adventures 💚
16:23 i collect russian lacquer boxes but have no idea how to tell their worth
🎄 well down below the girls throughout the name Palekh... and I went and used it over at EBay to look at comps, it was pretty interesting 💚
Look for the signature
The tissue box may be Moorish Spanish design.
🎄 hi Susan, I will look into that, I think we’ve settled on that it is Persian, i’ve got a few comments and private messages that it is Persian... but regardless I want to google what you just told me and know what the heck that is 💚💚
Please, dear Lord, get the flowery one. $2.59 beautiful.
🎄 awww it was kind of sweet, I did pick it up and look at it for a few seconds for sure, thought about it... i’m sure someone else came along that really really loved it and it’s got a happy new home somewhere 💚
