Greg, I’m a huge fan of the Southern Rock genre so all Lynyrd Skynyrd songs are great to learn and play. This one has quite a busy bass line but that’s what makes it interesting. Awesome job with the breakdown of the parts! Makes learning more practical and fun. Thank you Greg for sharing your wonderful work.

Hi Greg, your usual easy to follow, and enthusiastic, bass lesson. Not a song I would normally go for, but having been invited to join with a u3a group and asked to choose a new song to learn it was going to to be Key To The Highway, but this looks a better fit for the others. And for me to see if I can master the bass riff by Monday. Thank you JC

Go for it John. You could always simplify the bass line a little if you need to.

Thanks, Greg for another great Bass lesson! This is one of my favorite Bass lines. I moved the playing position down to use the open strings to play the A's and D's without fretting. That is what I had to do in order to play the line at full tempo. Cheers, Steve P.

Brilliant lesson, hadn't heard this recently, it reminds me of the Blues Bands version of 29 Ways.

Cheers. Currently looking at a Blackfoot bass line for a lesson. On a Southern Rock theme at the moment! Was that Banner Thomas on those two Molly Hatchet songs?

@@GregsBassShed Hey Greg, Not southern rock but Blues check out Showdown! with Albert Collins, Robert Cray and Johnny Copeland. The Moon Is Full has a killer bass line with Johnny B. Gayden on bass.
