I used to listen those songs from Windham Hill , Narada labels, Hearts of Space and many others back from the beginning of the New Age , now I'm 52 and I still love those compositions , truly inspiring , beautiful . Folks we need that today !
Gracias....
A true standout on this disc, which is a high compliment. Thank you Wil Ackerman and Windham Hill for putting New Age music on the map, long before its path was charted. Still amazing music to this day. Can’t wait for the documentary!
My Dad used to listen to Windham's album as he wrote his book, with me in his lap as a baby. Even now, I love listening to this music as I study my homework, because it gives a perfect balance- not loud enough to distract me like other musical pieces, but interesting enough to stimulate my mind as I work. I love this.
I can honestly say that I've been brought to tears by the haunting overlay of the cello during the middle of the song. It is truly moving. Thanks Danny and Eugene
I have loved Eugene Friesen ever since I first heard him with the Paul Winter Consort many, many years ago. His heart dances on the strings of his cello whenever he plays it.
What a nice story - would you believe I'm writing a script while listening to Windham Hill? Approx 20 years ago, I also used this same song to study for the biggest test of my day job, career.... and Passed.
Bellisima ,esta canción, solo los músicos de excelencia pueden lograr tal nivel de perfección y estridencia con los violines e instrumentos de cuerda. Gracias por recordarme mis tiempos de Universidad, se los agradezco mucho...
Thanks for posting this. I owned this album back in the day, but it was stolen. Recently went sorta crazy trying to remember the name of this record so I can buy it again. This video proved this was indeed the album! Thanks so much.
That first Windham Hill Guitar Sampler was something else, none of the others compared, really. I found a vinyl copy in excellent condition- it's even better in analog. If I recall from the footnotes, Heines played some special, unique type of guitar that I've never been able to find out anything about it on the net- I assume it's the electric playing arpeggios in the background. The harp guitar on "Night Crossing" is cool, too.
my precious! I'm not familiar with windham guitarists except ackerman & hedges. But this is so shiny in my mind just like twinky cristal on top of the small peak.
to me it is a pleasant walk with a loved one at night when it is warm and so humid there is a mist... passing from street light to street light... holding hands... taking an extra lap to make it last.
I'm looking for a guitar album by a middle eastern player. It was avante garde and had a white cover... searched the entire catalogue of Windham Hill on Discogs and couldn't find it, so I don't think its on that label... any help would be hugely appreciated!
this album "guitar sampler' truly was a moment in time...
Wasn’t it, though? Life was so…..untainted then for me.

I love this album, great when traveling through Vermont.
And traveling the outskirts of Los Angeles.
Brings back memories of Fall back in the late 80's
Beautiful music. Windham Hill is such a class act.
This is one of my favorites in my CD collection, ever since it came out !!!

Beautiful cello on this, played by Eugene Friesen.
Oh wow, that's him? His work with Scott Cossu is pretty awesome too!
So beautiful sounds. I love all!!
this is what music is.
Sountrack for my life.
I have always loved this song...absolutely beautiful..I used to play this for nap time at the child care center..

same.
So beautiful. It is so calmative.
It's the sound of 1000 lonely souls pressed in a bottle. Pure, liquid, elixir of one mans sorrow, love, hopes and dreams.
Mysteriously beautiful - there is always mystery in real Beauty.
Danny is a complete guitar master.
1988❤
The sound of liquid water.... what it feels like to be floating 💧🌊💧

I think i searched the internet all night long for three nights before i finally found a copy of the entire Danny Heines CD that this song comes from.

Tomas Kurjan Remember their sample discs they used to mail out with their catalogs? Nostalgia.

I love it omg thank you
This is entrancing and lovely.
Wish there were more videos of Mr. Heines' performances. Have loved his music since 1989.

True magic.

@@Unaomnia01 This..oh my.. yes. Exactly this feeling
The phenomenal Danny Heines hasn't put out any new music since 2002. I guess he has given up playing?

Wondering if anyone knows how we can get a license for this song?? I've tried contacting Legacy & Sony but still no contact from them. :(
So beautiful. Try explaining the feelongs going through you to a bunch of teenagers while listening to this. It's frustrating.
I *was* a teenager when I first heard this.
