Siptah seems pretty simple to me on the surface, though The Exiled Lands also did at first. I suspect there's a lot more buried beneath just the basic lore
A- Thank you. As a permanent resident of Siptah I appreciate this greatly. B- Very well done. C- to quote a few much more important than I..."more please", & thank you.
They do have some initial similarities with the Black Ones from the source material, but also some small deviations. My initial no-research impression is that they're an evolution of the Black Ones, though it requires a lot more digging
Thank you for the video. I always felt that Funcom didn't do a good enough job of delivering the story of Siptah. It's one of the major reasons I don't enjoy playing on this map as much. I welcome your deep dives. I'm looking forward to the next ones.
Thx for video. A month ago I started exploring the secrets of Siptah, the most knowledge is contained in mini dungeons in the monoliths of older races. Unfortunately, I can't run the game anymore, so all hope is with you Mate, give us more knowledge.
Thanks Piotr, glad you enjoyed the video. I'm happy to provide some fun content where I can, hopefully Funcom will get the old saves bug fixed ASAP, it's astounding it's gone on for this long tbh
Neither Lovecraft nor Howard could have predicted how great of a mix Sword & Sorcery was gonna be with Cosmic Horror. Even after they are long gone we get the biggest mood at the idea of primal humans ducking it out against the powers from the dark beyond.
S&S and Cosmic Horror really are a great combination. I already liked cosmic horror before I got into Conan, but mixing the two together just hits different
@Eradicati0nn They both deal with a nameless, forgotten past and a knowledge of powers and places since lost to modern men. Both Howard and Lovecraft write about fledgling humanity huddling around the light, while paying tribute to dangerous entities looming in the dark. It's no wonder they fit like hand and glove.
Id love to know more about those that sailed to the lands and you read his notes fairly often all over the island in different broken civilizations. He speaks of coming here because of the Malestroms crashed them there and I'd love to learn more of them.
There's plenty of meat on the bone there I think, both for people like the player who crash on Siptah, and Kraxus' men who attempt to settle there. Definitely earmarked for a future lore video
Hey, i have a question. Did funcom make it where foundations no longer stop enemies from spawning, because what i like to do in my game is conquer NPC camps and make them mine like a true conqueror, but now NPC will just spawn in the foundations. They didn’t do it before, but foundations still stop ore, but thats it. I play on ps4.
Glad you enjoyed! The story in this video was actually really easy to find. For everything related to The Elder Races, it's told through the vault cutscenes, and fortunately the full transcript is on the wiki too. As for The First Men, some of their history is mentioned in those cutscenes, there's a bit of natural continuity of their growth across Thuria whilst they're not in the spotlight, then the story of them getting trapped is told through the Primeval Chestpiece item description. Item descriptions are invaluable for lore hunting, you'd be surprised how much is buried there

I would absolutely love to hear more about Siptah, I love the exiled lands but Siptah seems like it has so much unexplored mysteries!

Loved it! More Siptah lore please.

Now we need to figure out what the Grey One's are.
I think they’re meant to be from another planet.
They share many similarities to the Black Ones from Conan lore
Stranded ETs? Decendents of ancient ones

This is awesome! Thank you. Can't wait to hear more of the lore of Conan!
Love this!
I want more lore dives into the setting.
Glad you enjoyed! I think there's more to dig into with Siptah for sure, the environmental storytelling seems like it has a lot to say
Thank you for the video.

I'm still yet to properly "play" Siptah, but I love the setting. I might have to give it a go myself one day
