Whatsup man, greetings from Russia. I used to play this game when I was 9 years old. This is amazing. I thought about remaking this game on modern engine, but keep minimalistic style of the game, just enhance some effects. Maybe it already exists.
I remember first seeing it in 1997 on a friend's computer with a Voodoo card. An egyptian level with Heretic E1M1 music. I fell in love. Still love it.
When playing through the first time I did so totally blind, so I had a huge-ass grin on my face when the enchanted cathedral music came on since I have been a huge fan of heretic since pretty much before I could read.
I well remember the music at 35:20 while playing that level the first time. It felt a bit like living an endless nightmare . As you walk around the level with this music it almost seems to say "oh my god no it's a nightmare without end I have to get out of here soon" :)
I found out, just google "Hexen 2 CD music" Open up the "Missing Music image download" link - it's on steam forum download from the last link and put the files in data1/music folder under your Hexen2 install directory In options select: music type: all codecs That's it
I like this game for its awesome combat and deranged puzzles that make you feel like an IQ 450 genius when you compete them (the pyramid part anyone? I solved them all myself! no walkthrough!!!)
I bet there's no kid that completed the game without cheats :D Puzzles were cryptic and weird indeed. Sad that the game had almost nothing to do with Hexen 1 atmosphere and world.
Meh, nothing special... Not many of us played the midi version when we were kids, CDs were kind of expensive back in the 90s :) If you have no nostalgia for the OST, then it just sounds... Mediocre.
Huh this sounds more high quality than the music in the Steam version. Did Steam basically do the same thing they did with Quake 1 and 2 and not put the high quality CD music in their release? Because for me I swear the soundtrack is actually midi music akin to Heretic and Hexen 1.

hematogen50g check out Graven coming out on PC, similar to Hexen, you will probably like it
I played hexen 2 in 2002.
Thumbs up if you're hearing this soundtrack for the first time because the game wouldn't fucking run on your computer.

The remake of Heretic's Cathedral level is simply amazing. Probably my fav song there. Simply gives the chills. :)
My favourite game of all time!
Good Lord, give us Kevin Schilder's music again 🙁

Same with Winnowing Hall, throwback to Hexen 1's first level

*The Winnowing Hall*

這個遊戲是個大傑作
The beginning of "The Tomb of the High Priest" sounds a lot like the demo music from the psx version of Doom.
Really really does. I was listening to the PSX soundtrack just recently and couldn't quite place it when I heard that track! Until now!
The mp3s you used for this are pretty compressed. Great soundtrack though!
If you play at 0.25 speed it sounds like doom metal.
SOME philarmonica [orchestra] should play such stuffs LOL
WTF. E1M1 from Heretic!
just hit the same track, really caught me off guard there
doesn't the court of 1000 warriors have its own theme?
Nice melodic dark
Glad you guys liked it man!!
Anyone knows how to get the CD music working? I only have MIDI :(
I found out, just google "Hexen 2 CD music"
Open up the "Missing Music image download" link - it's on steam forum
download from the last link and put the files in data1/music folder under your Hexen2 install directory
