Im going to college to study art in september! I’m very nervous but whenever I watch your videos they always help me out when I'm struggling with art. Just recently bought your craftamo brushes, IM SOO EXCITED FOR THEM TO COME IN!

As a tip: remember grades aren't everything when it comes to degrees in things like art (or degrees in general). As long as you're happy with the work you make and pass the classes (while learning what you need) you'll do fine.
Don't push yourself so hard you burn out just doing schoolwork, but also don't slack on schoolwork to do fun work.
Also, most schools don't teach the business side of art- self employed or contract work type jobs- so learning that alongside the main creating fundamentals is super important for success.
Finally remember there's no shame in dropping out, transferring schools, or going on a self-taught hiatus if the classes aren't really teaching you much anymore. I personally dropped my classes at my state University for that reason (plus it was pandemic time so things were heavily changed up in my painting classes to avoid oils for students who hadn't learned safety information to use at home)

Exquisitely done! Solar’s skin is heavenly and you captured it so well. Seems like you were patient and savored the process rather than aggressively pushing towards the outcome. I am starting to see the importance of that in my own art. Thanks for sharing!

LOVED this video Ham!!! I can see the confidence in your strokes. A good painting session is the best feeling in the world- when everything just seems to fall into place. Thank you for talking about your struggles, it's a familiar experience! I have those days (or weeks, or months 😅) where I feel like I've completely forgotten how to paint. I'm so glad you were able to work through it and come out on the other side with this beautiful piece! Also that underpainting color next to those sienna hues - GORGEOUS 😍 I need to get my hands on that Holbein color haha

I love these narrated paint alongs because you'd never know all the thoughts that the artist is thinking as they paint without it😅 You'd just see a beautiful painting and not know all the choices and self-criticisms that the artist went through to paint it! ❤

I'm sick right now and can't paint very much until after surgery. I miss it so much. Can't wait to get back to it in 6 weeks time. Your videos are always so inspiring. I'm glad you found a way to get back into loving gouache again, it really is a versatile medium. Keep up the good work!

This is absolutely gorgeous -- thank you for sharing!! I love how you showed the build up from more transparent, easily-buildable, to thicker opaque consistency. It's the main reason I love gouache - it's so versatile and forgiving!!

Some brands have warnings in the tubes and or packages, but if not you have to google the pigment. Hazardous pigments can be in any colors (watercolor, gouache, acrylics, oils etc.). For safety you can also use either protective barrier cream in your hands or protective gloves. (I’d use cream if oil painting or using pastels, but ofc then ventilation is very important as well).
Regarding HIMI, I did not find actual pigment info, but several sites do mention they should be non-toxic/non-hazardous (ASTM D-4236 and EU EN71 certified).
