Thank You for all the very positive feedback about featuring all your favourite ukes and ukulele collections. I'll look into the best ways of sharing the photos and info with me and let you all know as soon as I have a plan. Ha! I LOVE a plan. Thanks guys :-)
I want to say my favorite uke will be my next uke, but I'm gonna have to say it really is and always will be my Oscar Schmidt concert. It was my 1st ukulele and I got to play it for my Mother so there is no beating that.
Enjoyed the latest ramble Rachel - keep them coming! Think I am now favouring a purchase of the very same Flight uke when I pay my return visit to Matt in the Uke Room. It does look and sound lovely. Keep up the good work. Diolch 😊
I reckon you've bought a purple canoe and the photos are of two matching paddles for you and Mr ukulele Wales (don't forget to sing Michael row the boat ashore!)...🤣🇬🇧👍
Have a great school year. I’ll look forward to all your videos in the future. I presently only have three ukuleles. Two u-basses and a Fender Montecito. I have nine bass guitars. Thanks to you , I have a great interest in learning to play the ukulele. Thank you so much. Cheers and best to you. Michael J.
As noted in the video, the Flight Voyager was made with the the passive piezo pickup up to mid-2020. They changed mid-year to an active pickup with controls placed underneath the sound hole (internal vs external placement) so no holes needed on the shoulder of the instrument for a control panel. The model number changed to EQ-A (A is for active pickup.) You may still find the passive piezo pickup in older stock in store/dealer inventories or in a used uke so be sure to ask for the pickup of your choice before you buy.
Always enjoy your posts. My goal is to learn how to post a photo of my ukuleles including my u-bass and Cocobolo long neck 5 string concert, what a beauty.
I love your videos Rachel & I’ve found so many hints & tips that were especially useful to me re pedals & effects. I was picking up on your excitement going to The Uke Room last week…it was almost as if I was going there myself! Like you, I get super-excited when I know I’m going to purchase another uke. Trouble is….it’s so difficult to stop as there are some cracking ukuleles coming out all the time! Skint & nervously exhausted…that’s me! Lol! 😂 Thanks for all the time, effort & fun you put into your videos…so much appreciated!
Another great Rachel's Rambles video and I can't wait to see the mystery birthday pressie. I have 3 ukes plus a banjolele which I have acquired since I started playing last October and all are special to me in different ways, I would love to share a photo and a short explanation of each one if you are not inundated! Best of luck for the Autumn term..it was always my favourite when I worked as a TA in primary because of the run up to Christmas with the children. x
Thanks Sue, so glad you are enjoying and for all your support here too, much appreciated. Would love to see your pics, will sort the sharing details soon.
I actually ordered my favourite ukulele from Matt. It's a green Magic Fluke concert scale Flea that I've nicknamed Safari. I've named it that because the first thing I played on it was the riff in Safari by The Breeders. I also record most of my videos with it.
@@UkuleleWales Diolch, I really like the necks on them. The string spacing is good while they have a flat surface I like to rest my thumb on while playing.
I was just typing a comment and somehow managed to lose it. Jules's Jottings, take 2. 8^) Oh the pressie ukes look so very cool! OMG, they are going to be quite amazing, I can tell. Can't wait for the big reveal! If you decide to do the Uke Photo Share-a-thon, I'm in. Just tell how to send the photo. I truly love Rachel's Rambles. p.s. I did read this when you posted Jules as I had been waiting to see your reaction! LOL Definitely going to do the share-a-thon, will sort details soon. I knew you'd like the new pair, seriously killing me now though the waiting, the bass is fretless too!!!!!
I love the Flight Mustang ukulele, looks and sounds wonderful, as does yours. I have a Pete Howlett Revelator with a spruce top and I've fitted a scratch plate as the spruce, being a soft wood, started to wear, you may want to keep an eye out on yours over time! Thanks for the ramble and looking forward to seeing your "big Birthday" present!!

Hi Rachel, my favorite Uke is a Kmise Baritone Uke. It was awful. Shiped with GCEA Aquilla Baritone Strings. Before giving away I changed the Strings to DGBE Baritone Strings by D'Addario. What a diffrence. Great sound and so good playable. Now I love this instrument and it is my favorite. The sound is so great like a real Nylon Guitar. Thank you for your great channel. Greeting from germany.
Hi Christian, lovely to hear from you. it is amazing what a string change can do isn't it, so glad you changed them before you gave it away. Warm wishes to Germany from Wales.
I just got my hands in my new Flight Victoria tenor (the one with the active pickup not the soundwave). Yay! It is gorgeous and sounds amazing and quite different from my cheap Makala concert. It will be a great ukulele winter! Thank you Rachel for all your videos including the ramblings, they are a joy to watch although they are filled with so much temptation. I almost bought a multi-effect pedal the other day 😂
Hello Rachel, a fellow walian here. My favourite ukelele is my Pono pro classic mahogany back and sides and spruce top. It’s the sunburst model. I also own the Risa cherry burst electric, and an Ohara tenor pineapple, which I’m very unsure of. I’d go as far as to say it may be up for sale soon. My Pono tops everything.
Sounds like the Pono is your top uke. Interesting about the pineapple, haven't played one but shame it's not doing it for you. Where are you from? I'm Swansea Valley.
Rachel I have had plenty of koaloha ukes in my hand and my favorite uke is also a flight! The flight nighthawk concert is my all time favorite uke! Check it out if you get the chance.
Great taste Chris. Don't get me wrong, one day I will get an expensive Hawaiian uke but totally agree, I think the Flight ukes are awesome and for the money......... Saw, but didn't play a Nighthawk, will try one if I get the chance again though!

I could never consider anything happening to your ukulele during the process. it really is very kind of you Thanks but I really must say no. How are you enjoying it though because that really is the important question.
Why do you like passive piezos better than active ones? Is it because they are lighter, or because of difference of sound? Just curious 😉 I would love to share a photo of my favourite uke.
Great question Anna. A few reasons really, I find they are a cleaner sound if that makes sense, more predictable and dependable with sound and less likely to cause issues with amplifiers and wireless equipment and less hassle with no batteries. I also love the fact that there is are additions to the ukes such as the EQ/Tuner or extra battery compartment. Don't get me wrong, I own and use active ukes and basses but I have a little more confidence in passive pick ups. Will love to see pics of your fav uke(s), I sort the sharing out soon.
@@UkuleleWalesI haven’t noticed a big difference of sound on a entry level Kala that I just purchased (EQ/Tuner included). Maybe on higher quality models, or the ones with Soundwave system. My equipment is still pretty amateur 😅
Have always thought your videos are informative, friendly and so down to earth. Love the sound and look of your favour Flight Voyager. (Bet it's expensive). Have you ever reviewed a Noah, hand-made uke, or a Snail electro-acoustic? These are two ukes which look interesting to me.
Hi David, Thanks for your very nice comment. The Flight Votager ares around the £250 maek depending where you're from. I have an electro acoustic Snail uke which I love and haven't actually done a proper review on it, although it does feature in quite a few videos. I did actually look at Noah ukes a while back and one of our uke group has a Noah and he loves it. Sorry I can't give a personal opinion on the Noah but will certainly try and do a review of the Snail uke.
Ukuleles I’ve; made, known & loved, favorite ukulele, a collection that is memorable, a song made up about a collection ✅. So how do we share files with you? I’ve got some content that fits these categories.
Hi! I've been wanting to get the voyager uke for a while, but I keep doubting between the concert and tenor size. I think the tenor sounds nicer but I wonder if a concert plays better, because Flight has a wider nut and I have small hands. Do you notice a big difference with your other ukuleles because of the nut width?
Hi Ukelise, I agree, I think the tenor sounds better but I do find the concert easier to play, especially for longer periods. This might be because I am more used to playing concert but I do still love playing the tenor and have been picking up that one over the concert recently. Sorry, I'm not helping am I!? LOL
