    It's what I carry. It's a life saver . You'll be using the nail clipper more than you think and it's a very good one too

      @@WhiteGloveReviewsI am confused between this and Victorinox Classic SD.
      In my job, sharp scissors and knife are more important.This has serrated scissors.
      Please guide

    I love this knife for backpacking/hiking, especially long trips. It is great for that. I have a primary larger blade in Mini-bugout, but this is in my med/utility kit for the scissors, nail clipper, and tweezers. Great for cutting tape or moleskin or blister care/foot care and sliver removal, plus I have a small backup blade in case I lose my primary. Honestly, could probably get by with just this knife and not need a primary if I was going really ultra-light, but I am an old boy scout and was told to be prepared and always have a backup. As they say, 2 is one and one is none.

    Thanks for making this video. It was the reason why I got this 580 last year. I pretty much use the nail clipper and the scissors only. Still works great after all this time. It is just kinda bulky though because of the nail clipper. But it will do in a pinch.

    What's the point of wearing white gloves, if you're just going to go ahead and smash the thing up using a metal tool to open blades and get the tweezers out?

    All the Wenger models were converted to Victorinox tweezers and toothpicks. They also took Victorinox can openers, and probably a few other little things.

    I kind of like it... thinking about buying one for my wife to keep in her purse.
    Curious about the knife you use to open the tools by the nail nick... Is that a production model or custom made from a production knife ?
    I've been making some custom Victorinox knives (just the scales at this point), and made a little nail nick tool from some brass stock to save my finger nails... works great and the brass is softer than the stainless steel SAK tools.

    I get it’s a part of the channel, and excuse me if I’m wrong about this (I’m new here) but the gloves just seem hella inconvenient. It’s impractical to use a tool to open an item you’re reviewing because you can’t really tell exactly how hard or easy it is to open, and I know IM not carrying around a tool to open my tools. I’ve encountered knives that’ll open right up or damn near break a nail, and there’s no way to gauge that or how it really feels in hand with thick gloves on

    • @strainfly7372
      @strainfly7372 4 года назад +1

      Hello, im sure the gloves are not on all the time, just a lil quirk to add some flavor to the videos. Only the alox collection of Swiss-Army knives has a nice secure spring tension. All other swiss army knives with plastic handles(especially the smaller ones) have nice, user friendly tools, that are very easy to access. For instance my 9yo brother cant open my Alox Bantam, but any of my plastic handled ones he can access no problem. Although i did buy an Alox classic for him and it is absolutely perfect, he loves it.
      And as for the specific Victorinox Nail-Clip in this video, i can assure you all tools are very easy to access, even the scissors

    Hi how can I get the nail clip 580 exact one u reviewed. My dad gave me his 20+ years ago and it was taken from me when someone broke into my car and stole my purse amd several other items. That is the only thing I have left of his. Please help!! I purchased the wood one but it is smaller amd does not have the pic or tweezers.

    What’s the withe on it? Would it be comparable to a huntsmen, camper, or a compact? I’ve been looking to buy one but I don’t want to get it and regret it because it’s as wide a a Swiss champ, and I need to belt carry it. Thanks for the review.

    We have that nail cutter but we lost it. It is older than my baby Sister

  • @aubreygmcghee
    @aubreygmcghee 4 года назад +1

    Kind of redundant for my taste. One of the main uses for the scissors is to cut my nails and that is the main purpose of the smaller pocket or key chain knife. Having scissors and nails cutters on this small knife is again redundant. If I have actual nail clippers what do I need the scissors for on this small of a knife?
    If I want scissors for other purposes then I would have them on my larger knife.

    • @frs2768
      @frs2768 4 года назад

      Travis Mcghee yeah instead of the scissors they should put cap opener with flat head screwdriver

    • @errolflynn7723
      @errolflynn7723 4 года назад +1

      I prefer a nail clipper than to use scissors on my nails. At the same time, I can imagine a ton of uses for scissors where nail clippers wouldn't work very well. I dont think it's any more redundant than saying a knife with a blade and with scissors is redundant.

  • @brianl3753
    @brianl3753 5 лет назад

    Does your scissors have a lot of play in them? Mine does and it’s not the usual sturdy feel that I’m accustomed to but I didn’t know if that was normal on this model

    • @WhiteGloveReviews
      @WhiteGloveReviews  5 лет назад

      Mine don't have much play in the scissors. The scissors are different in this version than the usual Victorinox version. They are based on the Wenger instead of the Victorinox style scissors.

    • @TheMasonator777
      @TheMasonator777 4 года назад

      Brian L Mine have play in the scissors on the fixed side at the slip joint. I think it’s normal, if a little unsettling. If you hold the scissors in a certain way, it’s not a major issue.

    Now this oddball knife I could get into. Very neat and would prove very useful! May have to pick one up.
    That knife you always use to open knives, what is that blade? It looks exactly like a watch caseback knife. I have one, and the blade shape is identical. Used for popping off press fit watch backs. What is it supposed to be on your knife, and what model is it?
    Thanks, and great review. This one really caught my eye and got my interest. I'm always losing my nail clippers, and it pisses me off. LOL.

      You are exactly correct about the knife I use to open the other knives. It's the Victorinox Watch Tool. I got mine from ebay. It was listed as Victorinox Uhrenoffner.
