Mozart was not Austrian, but Salzburger, because Salzburg, where he was born and lived there until the age of 25 years, was an independent archdiocese from 798 AD till 1803 and was not part of the Austrian monarchy in all this time. It only finally became part of Austria in 1816 - 25 years after Mozart's death.

This is one of the first pieces of classical music that I ever heard. In the 1950s, when I was growing up, children’s records had children’s music on one side, and classical music on side two or side B. So, I would play my Little Golden Record, until I was tired of it; then I would turn it over and almost reluctantly play the classical piece recorded there. This is how I first heard Mozart’s, Turkish March. 70+ years later, I am still captivated by Mozart’s genius.

To clarify some confusion in the comments, it's called Turkish March, because it is composed in the style of Turkish Music. Not to be confused with music made by Turks, Turkish Music in this context is an early style of classical music made by Europeans, inspired by Turkish military bands. After the Treaty of Karlowitz between Austria and the Ottomans, Ottoman Sultan sent an army band and other performers to Vienna for the celebration of peace. Austrian court was really impressed by the music they played. Especially after Poland got a military band sent by the Sultan as a gift in the 1720s, every other major European Country got a military band in the same veins to not to be outdone. Then it jumped to classical music from military bands.
Turkish Music in this context has the connotations of "eastern" and "military". It generally used extra percussion instruments to a standard orchestra(by standard I mean for those times) like a bass drum, triangle, and cymbals. Turkish style is always lively in tempo, and almost always a march.
Mozart himself titled it "Alla Turca" because it is an imitation of Ottoman Jannisary bands. But you should be wary that it is what European imagination or idea of what Turkish music is, if you compare it with an actual march from a jannissary band of the time, the similarities are superficial imo, like the very lively tempo, but that's it. To start with, this is a piece for piano, Jannisarry bands had no similar instrument to it. They consisted of wind instruments and percussion, no string instruments. So here, Mozart is trying to imitate a type of music that's been shaped and changed by European minds and understanding of it for at least half a century. Nonetheless, it still is beautiful.
Mozart be cultural appropriating before it was cool. :P

The Turkish March by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is actually not a stand-alone piece, but the final movement of Mozart's Piano Sonata No. 11. This movement received its “nickname” because Mozart imitates the Turkish military music of the time (the “Janissary music”) by musical means.

The Turkish influence on western music came through the Turkish military band music (Mehter), which was at the time was the only military band in Europe. ... That's why theTurkish-influenced music works by Mozart, Beethoven or Strauss are in march ritm as they are called march.

You're basically saying that if two people were exactly the same their race and culture doesn't matter but it does.
I'm not a racist and have several Turkish friends myself but saying "Let's disregard all the negative aspects of their culture and just love each other!" is childish.
In that case, why not completely remove the concept of independent states and make the whole world one united country?
Right, because that'd mean the loss of culture for every single state.
The whole "we're all humans" argument is kinda weak in and by itself since by that logic you should also like terrorists because they think their deeds are good and, since they're human, you should love them as well! Fuck morals, we're all humans!

I'm a huge fan of metal and rock, and their origin lies in the classical music, so I'm therefore interested in classical music.
I think it sounds great, and it often has a depth that you don't find in most of the music made today. Sure, some of it is really simple and not really that great, and doesn't deserve the credit it gets. A lot of it gets a lot of credit because a certain person made it, and that person happened to make a lot of great music.
Let's put this into perspective; I love the band Kamelot, and they have some really great songs, but then there are those where you feel like they took the best out of the worst just to fill up an album. Sometimes, classical music feels the same. They simply couldn't find those gems hidden away every time. That doesn't mean the music is bad. It simply means it is less good.
If you don't agree with me, that is fine. If you want to voice your opinion, feel free to do so. Kindness receives kindness in return.
However, if you simply want to complain, then here's to you: "Fuck you and everything you stand for."

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart[a][b] (27 January 1756 - 5 December 1791) was a prolific and influential composer of the Classical period. Despite his short life, his rapid pace of composition resulted in more than 800 works representing virtually every Western classical genre of his time. Many of these compositions are acknowledged as pinnacles of the symphonic, concertante, chamber, operatic, and choral repertoire. Mozart is widely regarded as one of the greatest composers in the history of Western music,[1] with his music admired for its "melodic beauty, its formal elegance and its richness of harmony and texture".[2]

Turkish March Beethoven (part of Op. 113 No. 4): Die Ruinen von Athen (The Ruins of Athens)
2014 yılında Macaristan Milli Kütüphanesi arşivinde bulunan 11 nolu La Majör Piyano Sonatı’na ait 4 sayfa orijinal nota yazısının arasında Türk Marşı’ndan da bir kısım bulunuyor.[1]
Türk rap sanatçısı Ceza, sonatın üçüncü bölümüne 2012 yılında Türkçe söz yazdı ve parçaya bir klip çekildi.[2]

Many countries around the world have certified that Turkey did 2 genocides at least (Armenians, Greeks in Minor Asia) but Turkey acts like they never happened.

I often wonder what it would be like if RUclips adverts was around during the time of Mozart. I can see the advertisements now.
*Get the new IQuill 6 now by Newton's Apple. Now with a 7 inch feather length and Colored ink option for downdipping!*
If not a product advert, perhaps an advert by another artist,
*Out now in Symphony halls near you, new songs by artists such as Sebastian "Gott" Bach and Basshoven's top single "Fur Eloose Lady". Only in Europe!*

Turkish March is a composition by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. During the early Renaissance years, the Ottoman Empire aroused admiration in Europe, and Europeans imitated Ottoman art styles by following a movement called turquerie.
