If I recall the stories behind Richard, he was suspected of cheating (much like the one guy on the original Press Your Luck...who was exploiting a non-random "randomizer"), but it simply turned out that he was a huge fan of the show and had memorized the prices of items that commonly appeared.
I believe there is a documentary on him. Think I saw it on Netflix.

I loved seeing the first clip from “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” because I have a great memory associated with that day. I was in Girl Scouts at the time, and my troop went to a Ringling Bros. show at the Allstate Arena. We had our own skybox for the show, and while the kids were watching the circus, the parents were watching this episode on tv. All of us girls turned away from the circus to watch this moment.
I remember a funny moment of Wheel of Fortune where a contestant nailed Shaggy and Scooby-Doo and the host made a hilarious Scooby impression

Did the people forget that the last prize in the price is right is always three separate prizes to win? They sure as hell aren’t paying 20000 for furniture and carpet. Plus his podium even said motorcycles so you know he had more than just a living room. Poor guy though. I’m happy that they allowed him to change his answer, which I’m sure they only did because they couldn’t actually fit all the numbers but they at least gave him another try. Showcases usually average around 20-50 thousand and the bigger ones are for special shows like anniversaries or holiday specials. That woman next to him had the most evil smirk because she knew she already won 6 prizes.
