I remember this performance like it was just yesterday. We were watching this in the Philippines, and I was 11 back then. I can literally recall how our entire family got upset when they didnt declare her as the winner.
This songs captures you because of the conviction in the performance by Jennifer Holliday. Jessica Sanchez really did amazing as well, it's a passing of the torch type of performance. I love Jessica's reaction to Jennifer's vocal power about 2 minutes in, she just starts shaking her head in awe, and I guarantee she is thinking, this woman is so incredibly amazing, I'm graced to be performing with her. This is called, "putting the stank on it"! Also, I would like to believe every guy wants his woman to feel this way about him, because, when Jennifer says, I'm not going to leave you, your the best thing...you really feel it, and believe it, without any doubt whatsoever.

T-T I was already rooting for Jessica because she was insanely talented and i LOVED seeing a beautiful filipina getting so much love and recognition. THEN AMERICAN IDOL BROUGHT OUT JENNIFER HOLLIDAY SO THEY COULD BOTH SING THIS?! I'm 24 now and I still cant believe how amazing this performance was. Absolutely incredible.

Jennifer with her over the top performance and Jessica with her thin voice compared to Jennifers. But they do complement each other in this song. I love it!
