a trick i learned from itzjolted is that i made a habit of doing extra tapping at the end of every song- if the white lines still appear, that means the song isn’t over yet!
i still tap after the final note on songs i know for certain have ended, HAHA… but doing this has definitely saved me from pretty much every potential fakeout!!
ETA because i didnt wanna be annoying and add another comment: what gets me about this video is that your hands are never visibly frustrated after you get tricked… like you’ve skipped every stage of grief & went straight to acceptance 😭

as far as I remember two songs got me with a false ending, they were Gehenna and Imperial Girl
I think everyone falls for this "prank" when they do it for the first time, but over time you get used to knowing when it really ends.

Actually I didn't fall for gehenna the first time I've played it... Around the time I started playing I saw a video with advice that if you tap on the chart and it lights up the song isn't over and it just kinda stuck with me and I do it pretty automatically, so both the fakeouts didn't get me ehe. Its a really good trick!

A rule of thumb for me is to never leave the screen until the clear indicator shows up, so Im practically immune to fake outs lol

Even though it's the very start of the song so it doesn't really count, Cendrillon has a pause of (I think) 2.46 seconds in between the clock dings, making it a longer pause then Alter Ego
I'd say an honorable mention would go to Worldwide Wander and its' last 2 flicks, almost got me
Peaky Peaky's last 6 flicks on expert too, that got me😭
i always check my score to see if its over or not. typically, my current team gets me a high A range score every time, so when I see that my score is still a B, i know theres more left.
Although I don’t think it’s as bad as others here, the fake out in “Even so, it’s OK” still gets me from time to time 😭

For me the one that got the most was gehenna, when it came on en I played it for the first time when I was on the university waiting for the teacher to appear and while I was playing; my friends where arriving and we say hi with a fist pump so i have to pause, say hi and restart the chart because i miss some notes and adding that is a long chart with a lot of fake outs that got me one time each because i was distracted so it was very annoying🥲
