I think she missed out on the most awesome and endearing part of being a Husky's parent. Husky's talk to you. Brother don't Husky's talk to you. The craziest thing is over time you kind of understand what they are saying. Husky's think they are having a full on human conversation with you. My Husky is part alarm clock now that I'm retired. He crawls into my bed in the morning. Puts his big head on my shoulder. If I don't get up or acknowledge him he sticks his big cold wet pink nose in my ear and breathes. If I don't get up he commences to singing. If I don't get up he sings while smacking me with his big fluffy paws. Then I get up and join him in singing. Thank goodness the nearest neighbor is 3 miles away.

I had a border collie, a rescue dog at 7yo. He was absolutely magnificent. Double-coated, long hair, so lots of grooming. And a bundle of energy. Cold nose on the ear or on the nose while deep asleep in bed. You instantly have to get up, dressed and out the door, or there is hell to pay. They can swear and curse at you better than any sailor ever born. That means hurricanes, nuclear wars or anything, you are out of that door at the crack of dawn, with barely a second for a mouthful of coffee.
If you want a fascist personal trainer, a BC is for you.
I am biased, but he is the best dog I ever had. And I don't care if you passed the Mensa test, he is going to outwit you one day. Very clever and got bored easily. I really should have got two. We have an Ok back yard, but a farm is ideal for them.
And when he dies, he will break your heart.
They are independent thinkers, but treat them as if you were an older bother or sister, rather than being an alpha or parent animal. They can be stubborn, but you can work with that, because they are also logical. I rarely had to use the "command voice" and that was only for potential danger. [A ball that goes onto a road or something] Once you get that bond cemented in, orders are friendly suggestions.
I imagine a Husky/Mulamite as much the same, but bigger, and with better singing voices. Dogs with a working background are terrific. In their senior years, tone down the activity a little. They can work hard until they drop dead. So sometimes, you have to be the adult in the room.
I am too old to be a good companion to such a dog now. Lifting them into the car to take them to the vet to get treatment, for example. But I never tire of watching them.
