  • This is just a little walk around / tour / break down video of my 1993 Jeep Wrangler YJ. It's got a billion trillion miles on it and I am sure I missed some stuff that you guys may have questions about.
    Anyway... My buddy Brent and I are going to the Kern River in a few days for some camping, fishing, and we might even shoot some guns! So stay tuned for that...
    Thanks for watching,
    Feel free to comment any questions that you may have.
    See y'all next time, in Kern County!!!

    It's unlikely anyone will see this comment on a 6 year old video, but I've been in the mood for your fun Arizona adventure / life videos again, and this particular video reminds me that I've wanted a jeep for years, but almost everyone I know react with: "Oh no! They're not stable!" "They roll over!" "They break down a lot!" Meanwhile I see more and more Rubicons here in Canada and its usually some ordinary car that I see in the ditch or the side of the highway. [Edit: there's a video in the list at the side that is called "Don't Buy A Jeep Unless It Has This Engine". Sheesh! 😆 ]

    The thing that's nice about the older jeeps (YJ's, TJ's etc.) is that they are a great candidate for the DIY welder/fabricator...something easy to "tinker" with lol. I like your roll bar! Yes I'd add the shoulder harness cross bar. Thanks for the vid!

    I've had people ask me to talk about my Blazer and I usually answer with, "what's to say about it?". But it really does have some nice stuff for such an ugly thing. NP205 Xfer case for one. 12bolt rear pumpkin and you don't see those too often especially stock from the factory like that. The 350 engine was the first thing to get rebuilt and I've rebuilt the entire drive line over time. I want to lock up the front with an Eaton LS locker just like the rear. I don't want a fully locked rig because of the street driving this thing gets going to and from wheeling places. My Blazer has performed very well over the 16 years I've had it and never once let me down. My 8500 pound winch has only been used to help get Jeeps unstuck. I've never needed it for myself. My little US Army Shovel has gotten me out of a few stucks along with my 48 inch High Lift. The heater works. LOL... Don't know what else to say about it.

    @captain has your line lock break given you any bad days , battery dying etc.... I ask cuz I also had to remove my foot e-break to install my roll cage, and I had to Intall and pull ebreak, but cuz of that i had to get rid of my center console , but now I miss it and saw line lock break as an option .... thanx for your videos bro ! Is reaaaal nice

    • @CaptainGnarkill
      @CaptainGnarkill  6 лет назад +1

      The one I got doesn’t use any battery power. It simply holds pressure in the lines as if I was sitting inside holding the brake pedal down. The original emergency brake was better, but this will work as a parking brake and gives me a little peace of mind. Although if the hill is super steep it won’t hold the Jeep back. Thanks for watching buddy! More vids to come soon

    I don't know much about transmissions, but today I couldn't shift into 3rd or 4th gear on my 95 yj. I think some linkage may have failed, but if I'm going to open up the transmission what should I do to make it better for off roading? Any advice would be appreciated.

    I would like to know, of all the vehicles, why did you keep your jeep. They are uncomfortable, expensive and just a pain sometimes. Saying that...... I have had 3 jeeps in my life. I said I would always own one :) I just want to know what is it about the jeep that had YOU keep if longer than all the others? Is it better, worse, or you just like it, or just circumstances? Thanks.

    • @CaptainGnarkill
      @CaptainGnarkill  6 лет назад +1

      That’s a great question... there are many reasons why I like my Jeep and have kept it around all this time. Probably the biggest reason is I have sunk so much money and time into it, I know I could not afford to replace it if I had to do it all over again. It’s really really really fun to drive too.
