So I found out how to do the “later” option. Without resetting the switch. In the E Shop, go to your account. Same page/tab that shows all your points and such, go to the very bottom and there will be something along the lines of “games linked to console purchase”. Forgot the exact wording. But it will be there to download. I selected the later option and thankfully found it again after messing around with it on my own. Just wanted to share what I found because this was very weird it wasn’t a download code like we are used to. 😅
@@MALICEDOLL79 agreed! I think Nintendo is trying to avoid that you can just give away the code to someone else and it will never be actually downloaded on the intended switch. But having the code is sooo much easier and less confusing.

I already have a game card for ACNH on my current Switch, but on the aloha edition, I will have another island. By the way, I got questions about using the same Nintendo account: Will my profile icon and my friends be on the other, new Switch as well, or will it just have a completely different profile linked to the same Nintendo account?

I have a regular Switch, a second Nintendo account and a physical copy of the game. I'm trying to decide which account I should use on my new ACNH switch lite. I could use my first account and download the game no problem because I've already bought it. I could also use my second account and stick the game cartridge in, again, no problem. So what would happen to the download version attached to serial number of my new Switch Lite? If I don't register it, would it still be available to someone else in the future if I pass the system on? Is it even possible to use my already existing download purchase and not register the one that came with the console? If the digital download is going to be used up no matter what I do, I'd rather it go to the account that doesn't already have it, but I'd rather not have to use it at all if possible. I hope that made sense. Thanks for the video.

Did you know that if you have a physical or digital copy of the game, you can make a new island on every Switch you have because the game data is saved on the console? You just need multiple copies of the game if you want to visit your other islands. Anyway, I'm mostly wondering what happens to the digital copy I would get if I don't need to register it with the serial number of the new console. I can use the account that already has purchased the digital copy. I'm assuming from you resetting your console that the game would still be available in the future if I give the system to someone and they want to redeem the game under their account. I got one on monday so yeah same question my sister had her physical one but where can i get my own digital copy so i had friggin wait her on sunday she own me about getting in the wifi fiasco due to her internet wizard smarts i had to rely someone who make difficult passwords in the first place

If you haven't registered the game, it will be available, but Nintendo hasn't stated how long the game will be available for.
