- Just a piece of advice for all those who are searching for the truth. If you are really sincere about finding the truth and you pray sincerely for guidance, God will guide you. However, when you pray you should pray to the Creator, the LIFE GIVER and the LIFE TAKER not to any false deity. We are all required to seek guidance from him on a daily basis because we don't know when death will strike, then it will be too late. I personally know people who had so many misconceptions about Islam. However, when they studied the Quran and the traditions of the prophet Muhammad peace be upon him with an open mind, they were guided to the straight path and they saw major positive changes in their lives.
- Islam isn't a new religion nor was it invented by prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. It's not a new religion in the sense that its core message is what all other prophets and messengers including Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus peace be upon them all called to i.e. the call to worship God and only God (known as Allah in islam). In fact, the Quran contains stories of all these messengers and how they conveyed this message to their people. Also, the quran wasn't invented by prophet Muhammad peace be upon him as some may claim. The Quran itself is proof that Muhammad peace be upon him couldn't have made it up for two main reasons.
- First, all historians know that Muhammad peace be upon him was an illiterate man; he wasn't able to read or write. All of a sudden, he started to speak these verses that none of the Arabs at the time were able to produce despite their great eloquence and mastery of the Arabic language. They were so eloquent that they used to say poetry in a spontaneous manner. This is why Allah challenged them to produce just one verse similar to the verses of the Quran when they denied and accused Muhammad of lying, but they weren't able to.
- Second, the Quran contains so much scientific information some of which was only lately discovered and much of if is yet to be explored. For instance, the Quran spoke in detail about the different phases that the human embryo goes through before it becomes a complete human. How on earth could Muhammad peace be upon him, being an illiterate man, speak about this. A Canadian embroylogist named keith L. Moore wrote a book entitled 'The Developing Human' and asked that verses from the Quran be included in it. Besides, the Quran included detailed information about the past generations and the prophets that were sent to them in a way that leaves no doubt that the Quran is in fact revealed from Allah (God). Otherwise, how could Muhammad peace be upon him know all this information.
- Finally, islam isn't and never was a religion for Arabs only. It is a religion sent to all mankind. In fact, today l Arabs make only 25% of the world Muslim population. The rest are all non-Arab. Why then did Allah send his final messenger to mankind? The previous books revealed to all other messengers were all changed and messed with to the extent that you will find opposing messages in the same book. Allah, then sent his last messenger with his last book, the holy Quran and promised that he will preserve and protect it from all evil hands keeping it unchanged in its original form. As a result, after almost 1500 years we still have the same Quran unchanged in its original form in the Arabic Language. In fact, since the time of the prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, muslims, even non Arabs have memorized the quran and taught it to the next generation until today. Nowadays, we have millions of Muslims including teenagers and even children who memorize the Quran by heart.
If you want to know about the stories of the previous prophets including Jesus peace be upon him, then read the Quran and you will see for yourself. If you are not able to read Arabic, I encourage you to find a translation that uses an easy English like The Noble Quran (translated by Taqqiyu Din Al hilali). I invite you all to submit to Allah as the prophets did. The word Islam means submission, obedience, and peace.
Allah says in the quran talking to the Chirstians and Jews: " Say, "O People of the Scripture, come to a word that is equitable between us and you - that we will not worship except Allah and not associate anything with Him and not take one another as lords instead of Allah ." But if they turn away, then say, "Bear witness that we are Muslims [submitting to Him]."

In my opinion, also included in the sphere of this prohibition are the various sacrifices offered in tombs and massouleums to earn the pleasure of the departed person buried in the grave or tomb. At the time of slaughter, whether the name of Allah is invoked or that of the person buried in the grave or tomb, the real reason of prohibition is not this invocation but the place at which the slaughter takes place.
The word (istiqsām) means to look up one’s share or to find out about one’s fate and future. The word (azlām) means arrows of divination or gambling. The practice of seeking divination from arrows was in vogue in Arabia, through which people would try to find out fates ordained for them. Similarly, the practice of gambling on arrows was also in vogue in Arabia through which they would procure pieces of meat or some other thing. I have already pointed out in my commentary on Sūrah Baqarah under verse 219 that people would gather at various places, drink liquor and in their state of inebriation slaughter any camels they could get hold of. They would pay the owner of the camels whatever price he demanded.

They ask what is lawful to you: “Say all good things are lawful to you as well as [the prey of] the beasts you have taught, training them as Allah has taught you. So eat of what they catch for you and [before you let lose the beast to catch the prey], pronounce upon it9 the name of Allah. And have fear of Allah. Swift is He in taking account.” (5:4)
It is evident from the context of the above verse that since the verse preceding it states that an animal that has been cut open by a beast is only allowed to be eaten if it is found alive and then slaughtered in the prescribed way, it was but natural that the question should arise: Is such an animal allowed to be eaten as has been pounced upon by a tamed beast of prey and the animal dies before one gets the chance to slaughter it in the prescribed way?

Imām al-Zamakhsharī writes:
The word (maytah) mentioned in the Qur’ān must be understood according to its linguistic usage. Is not the case that when someone says that he has eaten maytah, we never include a fish or a locust in its connotation. This is similar to the fact that if a person says that he has drunk blood, we never include liver or spleen in its connotation. Precisely because of such usage, jurists say that if a person swears that he will never eat meat and then he consumes fish, this will not break his oath although in reality he has eaten meat.5
Owing to similar reasons, about sea water, the Prophet (sws) is ascribed to have said:
Its water is pure and its maytah is not forbidden.6
In other words, the above quoted words of the Prophet (sws) also pertain to dead fish and certain other similar things which cannot be regarded as maytah as far as the usage of the word is concerned but which are maytah in the literal sense of the word.

And what is slaughtered at the stone altars and [forbidden also] is the division of meat by raffling with arrows. This is [an act of] disobedience. (5:3)
While explaining this verse, Imām Amīn Ahsan Islāhī writes:

Nusub means the stone altars on which sacrifices and offerings are made. There were several such altars in Arabia where sacrifices were offered to please numerous deities, demons and the jinn. The Qur’ān has also prohibited such a slaughtered animal. It is evident from the words of the Qur’ān that the real reason for their prohibition is merely to please a deity or to seek its nearness - it is of no consequence whether the name of Allah has been invoked or not in such cases. If this prohibition was owing to the fact that the name of someone other than Allah has been invoked during sacrifice, then there was no need to mention it separately since such a prohibition has already been mentioned earlier in:

The verse answers the question in the affirmative and says that cutting upon of an animal by a tamed beast of prey is tantamount to tadhkiyah, and therefore it can be eaten even if it has not be slaughtered in the prescribed way with one condition: the tamed beast of prey has preserved the prey for his master and has not eaten from it. In case it has, then such an animal should not be eaten. This condition is stated in the words (what they have preserved for you). Moreover, in this regard, there is no need to discriminate between tamed beasts of prey and tamed birds of prey. Birds like falcons, eagles, and hawks also can be tamed for catching a prey.
The Prophet (sws) is reported to have explained this Qur’ānic purport in the following words:
The adjective (poured forth) which qualifies blood shows that the blood which is left in the blood vessels of the animal is an exception to this directive.
In this list, the fourth and last thing is the meat of an animal while slaughtering which the name of someone other than Allah is invoked. The verse itself explains that the reason for the prohibition of such meat is not the (impurity) of the animal but the (defiance) of the person who slaughters the animal. Since slaughtering an animal while invoking the name of someone other than Allah is an idolatrous practice, it has been termed as (defiance), which is a form of an impurity pertaining to one’s beliefs. Consequently, sense and reason demand that anything which contains such impurity should be analogously included in this prohibition. So on this very principle, the Qur’ān has prohibited certain other similar things:
The question to be asked to the music professor should also have included the recitation viz a viz music to the hears and his expert opinion in that respect.
