Its always nice seeing a video from one of the three former councils that now make up the larger Northern Beaches. From being there recently myself earlier this year it makes me think how niche it would be if those councils never merged and still where 3 seperate LGA's! I take it that Wednesday was purely dedicated to the veg bins and the whole council was done in the one day? Woulda been cool to see this unit sweeping around on the larger/heavier green waste collection. Great video as always Mitch ;)
Wednesday was the dedicated day for Veg. The first Wednesday of the month would be the Monday area then the second Wednesday would be the Tuesday area and so on except for the 5th Wednesday of a month which would be all day clean up. I have a video of this truck doing veg but remember Manly Greens at the time of these trucks was also still Manual with bundles and crates. So the side loader wasn’t always ideal. Often a runner would have to run along side the truck and load all the bundles and crates into a 240L and keep re lifting the bin or drag bigger and bulkier items to a cross street for a rear loader to get or also just send a side arm down the street for the Bins and send a rear loader for the bundles and crates.
Great video, always love to see footage of the mj recycler hoppers on garbage. Did this truck end up being brought by another council after 2019 or did it just get scrapped?
Superb mitch glad to the trucks had been scrap since i remembered when the northern beaches council new fleet trucks had arrived since 2019
Mad video Mitch, always have a soft spot for these older GenV models. Memories from when I was a little kid.
Good video and good truck, this must've been some modern tech back in 2011.
