'YSL' Gang Member Pleads Guilty Ahead of Young Thug RICO Trial

  • Rapper Young Thug's co-defendant and member of "YSL" Antonio Sumlin, known as "Obama" among the group, pleaded guilty to four charges against him on Thursday. Sumlin received 15 years of probation for each charge with all four sentences running concurrently, which includes conspiracy to violate the RICO act and participation in criminal street gang activity.

      I mean, a 12 hour job at a warehouse can fix that. They naturally should've been in their heads. $22/hour and if you can drive a forklift it's $25-28 an hour. Stay long enough to be supervisor and it's $28-32/hour. It pays bills. 1day if PaidTimeOff every month. Combine it and not use it until December and that's two weeks minimum paid vacation. I'm saying I wish that life for these men. If that money is too slow, then they're moving to fast.

    He got a curfew, this probation is tough. Have to be in at 10 pm - 6 am. Good luck to him and hopefully he can abide by the rules, but honestly I don’t believe he’ll be able to and at least probation can end in 10 if he can do it.

    For all you young guys that think he's scotch free, wrong! One mistake, one hick up could be a violation and he's back in that system again which would have nothing to do with the previous case.     I love their strategy because they know most of these YSL defendants are thinking short term. And so they offer them plea deals to get them back on the streets ASAP but they know d*** well within the 15 years at some point they're going to receive a probation violation and then they'll have to serve the reminder of the suspended sentence

      The point of the Alford Plea (which is what this is called) is to get the low level people to all confirm that it’s a criminal organization committing egregious crimes. Then they use all the low level testimony against the leaders of the “criminal organization.” In this case, they’re using gathering these Alford pleas to target Thugga.
