    Pretty bad ass. Falling hollow trees is bad enough, but falling a hollow tree that's been burning internally for who knows how long, adds a whole different pucker factor into the equation.

      @@AndreRMeyer now that I see it on a computer screennow it definitely wasn't a conventional bore cut but it did have components of one.
      Bore cut. That is when you cut your notch into the tree and then instead of doing a conventional back cut you bore through the tree, finish your hinge and cut from the inside out to finish your back cut. You can do a partial conventional back cut which allows you to put wedges in to keep the tree from sitting back on your cut. It is a good cut to know for trees that's are at risk of barber chairing.

      In a hollow tree, the rotten wood inside is more flammable. If there is an open spot in the trunk that allows air to get in, the fire will smolder until it opens a passage up higher in the tree. The fire will then burn very intensely because the heat causes the air to flow rapidly through the inside. It's the same principle that makes a rocket stove burn so hot.

    • @danielbutler578
      @danielbutler578 Месяц назад +1

      It's a matter of controlling when and where the tree lands when it falls. A tree burning like that is a risk that would have to be watched until it falls and burns out. When I was a kid, I found a tree that apparently was hit by lightning and burned. Fragments were in a field that it was close to and the tree had burned and fallen apparently during the storm from the remnants of a hurricane. The trunk was mostly burned up leaving branches laying around it and the stump was just small parts of it sticking above ground. If the surrounding woods had not been saturated, we would have been dealing with a pretty bad fire.

      As you can see a small ground fire has gone through, burning the underbrush. Early in the video you can see that there was a hole in the base that allowed the fire to catch hold on the tree. Healthy newer trees are able to withstand fires but when they rot on the inside they are susceptible to burning. A tree like this can continue burning for weeks after the main fire was put out. This means that as it burns internally, it will eventually burn to the top, spreading to the upper portion of the surrounding trees. This is to be avoided. Once a forest fire is up in the top(or crown) of the trees, it becomes incredibly difficult to control. This is why they have to go through and find these trees and cut them down.

      @@elektro9564 with all due respect, you're wrong.
      For better understanding of what you're looking at watch the most recent upload on my channel that features 4 live plasma fires I filmed last summer and hundreds that I filmed for the past 4 years

      @@jeffsnyder210 No.
      The big Ponderosa Pine probably had an old fire scar and some internal decay, and so when a wildfire burned up to it it got into the punky wood inside. The pie-slice had a gap internally where the rotten wood was that burned away. More oxygen in the rotten wood means it can burn much more readily than sound heartwood. If not for the entry point for the fire and the rotten wood, the tree likely would have just been scorched a bit on the bark.
      Not going to your website. "Plasma"? Are space lasers involved?😯
