Good practice to put the fountain pens in a ziploc bag. They are most apt to leak when taking off and landing, when the pressure change is greatest. Don't try to use them during takeoff and landing. If you carry extra ink vials, they should go in your liquids bag. I don't think the cartridges are an issue. It can also help to have the pens standing up instead of lying flat during flight. I personally haven't had a problem with leaking during flying, but keep them in a plastic bag to be sure.. Goulet pens has a video on flying with pens that is helpful.

I've packed fountain pens on my carry on while flying before. Nothing happened. Although I have read it's best to have the pen filled. Hope you have an amazing time. Can't wait to see the spreads when you get back!

I am having the same problem with using Regular or Passport. 😅
It’s such a struggle! I’ve yet to use my passport size for any type of journaling/memory keeping but it’s working great as a wallet this year!
