This is all very real and true. I learned at a young age, silence is golden! My Grandfather taught me this, The less people know about you, the better off you will be! I am a loner by nature and have spent more of my life alone than with humans. I never ever tell people anymore than what I think they need to know. At 18 I joined the U.S. Marine Corps and let me tell you what an education that was and still is as I speak at 67 y.o.. I learned to question and analyze everything and every person. Do not ever trust and or believe anyone or anything! I have no problem with admitting my faults or wrongs! If I f@$k shit up I own it and take full accountability for it! I am always happy for people who succeed and have positive gains in life and my heart is sad for people who hurt and or fail and I am one of the first to help them stand up and be strong. I treat all humans with respect and kindness until they give a reason not to. I listen very well and have learned more cool and awesome things in life by keeping my mouth shut and listening. I will tell who I am, A U.S. Marine and the rest speaks for itself. I walk my own path in life and I do not care what other people think or say and I do not judge anyone except for myself. I am very hard on myself and there is always room for improvement, I do not know everything. By choice I have lived alone for over 15 years now way back in the woods because I have yet to find a woman who respects me for the man that I am and who is trustworthy, kind and loving. Never been around ppl and basically live in my own head 😅.

Something never mentioned about Sigmas is: We have no problem agreeing to disagree, since we're always thinking 3 steps ahead! A mistake is just a learning experience.
But if your a sigma you know the fastest best way. So I may not be a sigma but I get frustrated with ignorance. When i tell someone the right way and they fumble anyways. Because they didn’t take advice. If it effects me then it will effect my responses.
Long life to Sigmas. Being many steps in advance is a big advantage in life, i cannot not do it, .people even tell me it annoys them. But sometime some people just don't get that and tends to overlook the sigma but it does not affect us. And it is really true, when we feel understood finally by someone we tends to drop the fences too quickly. It does that to me when I meet another sigma (this is pretty rare) and often it's fake.
That's actually not true. If you genuinely are and know it, and it's brought up in conversation, a Sigma may announce they are Sigma, but not for the reasons you're thinking. It's not to elevate themselves or feel special, but merely because they know themselves. We are very matter of fact people. The fact that I'm a Sigma is a matter of fact.

I guess it depends on the level and toxicity of that envy, but I personally have 1 friend who'll congratulate me even when I exceed him. My other friends seem to be silently seething, so I try not to tell them too many good news XD E.g. if the weather is great at my location, I might tell someone today is a wonderful day, but qualify my statement by saying that next week's weather is going to suck. I don't know any truly toxically envious people though, but it's hard to know for sure sometimes.
I don't know if I'm a sigma. Just know who I am and what I like / don't like, and came along the term "sigma" recently. I'll fit for the most in this so called label. I'm alone with Christmas, (my children are spending their time with friends) and I'm really looking forward to it. Just me and my dogs, doing what we love (long walks in a silent forest).
Sigmas are born, not made, anybody can pretend, but they don’t last, a true sigma walks different paths since childhood and nobody can fake to be one, that’s the reason only a very small group in humanity can claim that badge, I am a 75 years old sigma male and I ca assure everyone that there is no way to fake been one, period.
There's still a lot of variability, I think. No sigma has the 8000 qualities ascribed to sigmas by now if we were to survey the current RUclips theories on what constitutes a sigma. But personally I can identify sigma traits that go back to childhood. But a sigma could take two paths: the path towards normiehood, or the path towards cultivating his true self. So a bad sigma would be one who got swallowed up by the system, though maybe he'll learn to navigate.

I'm not sure, I think we see it as there is no way the world will understand us so why try to be understood. In other words you either get it or you don't, if you do, your probably another sigma.

I simply wouldn't waste time nor energy in trying to lay claim to any personally type. All I am concerned with is that I lead with my words ..&. actions paralleling. You got that right I can not stand to lessen to small talk and I will not tell you how my day is going I have better things to do than talk on the phone about nothing.
Small talk to me is a 2 hour theological-historical debate with a priest I've nevet met before. But sitting opposed to a stranger for 2 minutes can be tiring. Small talk can be possible for sigmas with practice, but the trick is that small-talk should have a concrete purpose. It can be useful to engage the neighbors sometimes _IF_ you think you'll be seeing them for a long time... Just to learn that they're not insane and that you could possibly rely on them if disaster strikes. That said, many local communities are dead now because people are moving everytime, so it hardly matters. And you also risk those neighbors misinterpreting your friendliness and inviting themselves to a BBQ in your yard.
As someone that has been fighting bedbugs for the last 3 years, it's to far away to tell. It's a bug of some kind, just not sure which kind. Edit: After zooming in the bug is triangular and not a bedbug.

During group conversations, if I don’t know what they talk about . I listen, if they ask, I say I don’t know enough about the subject. If it’s a good conversation I listen and if it’s a worthless conversation, my mind is somewhere else while my body is present lol. If I know about the subject I give into the conversation a little at a time, without overflowing the conversation. You click with one person and then you talk freely and listen freely.
I have found that putting sigma on my course page as a professor. Which is a factual statement. I found it helps the students understand how the class works. I don’t see it as a brag. I see it As a warning along with my Myers-Briggs and the Socratic method of teaching I use. I found it helps some in a class where the teaching is nontraditional.

Labels…that’s not quite unlikely, but one things for sure. Consciousness is collective and unique. It’s a beautiful century to be part of today’s world I think.
A label like sigma could be seen as a hashtag for identifying certain general tendencies a person may have. But I doubt a single person in the world fulfills all 8000+ sigma traits described on RUclips. I figure there must be at least 8000 traits by now. I think we're more flexible than people imagine. I've been an extreme extrovert, but also an extreme introvert. I like to stay alone by default. Unfortunately I cannot just switch between modes, I dunno how to small-talk effectively anymore. Extremely out of practice.

i'm a loud mouth, but thats more part of my humor, cause everybody thinks that a loud mouth is just a loud mouth. when thy ask me to prove it and i'm not in the mood, i play it like i'm embarassed and trying to find excuses, when in reality all of the things i'm talking about are real. if someone strikes me thinking i'm just a loud mouth he's in for a surprize, because not only does he think i'm not capable of doing what i said, but in my loud mouthyness i never tell 'em everything i'm capable of. so it is a form of humor and strategy. Another thing is that i actually enjoy to be cheered upon, but i don't particularly need it. Also if i like beeing around a community and they suddendly hate me, it really hurts, but i can live without them and get on with my life. i guess i'm not a real sigma male. I first thought i was to fit in somewhere, but i remain to be everything and nothing at the same time

I am about 90% sigma compared to most people, but I also have my ups and downs and flaws. Sometimes I'm just an insecure fool or a simp, other times I just silently watch people make a fool of themselves. If I reflect on my 41 years on this earth, I am neither this nor that, but I have some core sigma traits that I've always returned to. If a sigma tries to become normal, he will become a simpa. Practising being social just means we turn into a normie fool. That said, it's nice to be able to be a fool when the opportunity calls for it. Just chit-chatting, presenting a good exterior, gaining people's trust. Merely looking at people with a dead expression and making them feel uncomfortable is not always the right move, unless we want to be left alone. I've been thru it all, but I prefer being alone. Being "simpa" is tiring. We could talk about introvert/extrovert. It gets complicated. I have an on/off switch, so I'm either overwhelming people with my thinking and talking, or I am not talking much at all. Anyway, sigma is a spectrum like everything else, but I think we have some core tendencies. One could loosely consider "lone wolf", "introvert" as related. Someone can be an introvert at heart but dabble in extroversion. But he'll fail at playing the extrovert game and tend to retreat into his comfortable introversion. Sometimes we get jobs that force us to become extroverts. But I felt like I never became a true extrovert, mainly because most people are not good convo partners. I can go into a church and have a 3 hour theological debate, but I'll struggle to have meaningful convo at the dinner table. People suck. Sigma is certainly a curious and rather pure spirit who values morality and truth, but prefers his ivory tower because people cannot keep up. Or something like that. I think a sigma in particular should choose hobbies to meet similar-minded people. Personally, I kinda like IT people because I'm a geek, but nowadays i may wanna go hiking and meet people that way, if I do want to know local people at all that is (I may not care). I dunno, just ranting.

Alpha’s always shout that they’re alpha’s. Alpha’s needs Beta’s to feel in control. Sigma’s don’t boast or claim, but observe from the outside and don’t take part in things that are mundane.

I am a cross between sigma and alpha. I don't need a pack anymore I have came to the conclusion that people are evil and I want nothing to do with them which is sigma. And I get ready to fight if some one disrespects me which are alpha traits but as I grow older I am becoming more and more sigma.
With success / achievement it's a both-and, ie. there really isn't enough 'success' to go around (ie. could 8 billion people individually make products the whole world needs when most people regularly buy less than 50 products?). There's a saying that success is preparation meeting opportunity, lots of people prepare but most never see that opportunity. It's still no excuse to be jealous though of people who succeed, someone has to succeed and if no one did we'd be in even deeper trouble. The gist is that life is arbitrary and you really don't have a lot of control, and to some degree you need to give in and accept that (obvious caveats - without nihilism / fatalism) and just ask the question - what behavior from me makes the world better? Hint: it's not jealous or envy.
Except for the first action, I completely agree with the others. Because success and promotion are explained incompletely. If the success of everyone around you makes you feel unhappy or jealous, yes, it is not possible to be a sigma. But if you know this success is not due to talent but only because of 'az licking' or anything like that (because sigmas' observation ability is at the highest level) and you still don't care, you cannot be a sigma either. You can verify this; The people you choose to be around cannot achieve success by 'licking az'. Because you don't want these kinds of people to be around you. And so their success doesn't make you feel anything positive or negative. And also the definitions of promotion or achieving success can be defined differently for sigma. Relationships with benefits cannot be seen as success for sigmas. I hope I was able to explain what I wanted to say.

I didn't realise sigma was a popular view. I suppose there are individuals that will see it as trendy. They remind me of the individuals they buy those jeans that have wear holes in them. They are paying more for the holes. Clever marketing aimed at not so clever thinkers. They did it with mints too. Polo.....The mint with the hole.
@BWater-yq3jx that actually helps a lot, i looked up examples of famous sigma males and results were james dean, Muhammad Ali, and Bruce Lee. Basically it's just a word for someone who does what he wants to do on his own terms.
Being an alcoholic, which makes people more open books doesn't mean you aren't a sigma. At least I feel like that's what would be the case. I'm good on the first 4, but 5 might disqualify me. I would've passed the full test if it weren't for my drinking

Success isn't a mirror. It does make me mad when I see someone that take what they have not earned. This isn't somthing I obses about, but ya, when I see someone taking in what they have not earned I don't like it. I'm not sure why you wouldn't be bothered by this unless you are one of those that have not earned what you have. Too often this happens & those that do the work seem to be rewarded with more work.

A sigma is supposedly an introverted alpha. Alphas aren't BORN, they're MADE. Same standards should be held to sigmas. Sigmas are also supposed to have alpha traits, physically and mentally, the only divergence being social interaction/hierarchy. I've seen waaaaay too many dudes who just could NOT pass muster as an alpha, trying to claim sigma. Dudes who are scrawny or obese, weak, don't have that "drive" that is supposed to be inherent in alphas/sigmas. There is definitely a huge disconnect here. Maybe a new designation for the beta male equivalent of a sigma. Maybe a zeta? Kappa?
Yeah, I don't know where or when the Sigma personality type became cool. Obviously, after the concept was introduced and published. But it is more curse than blessing. I suppose all of humanity falls victim to "the grass is greener." What has been labeled as "Sigma" behavior/traits is much like trying to describe the smell of the colour red or the taste of the wind. The Bible teaches us that the Lord Jesus said: "You will know them by their fruits." Maybe, it's the growth of the victim mentality that so many hear of the Sigma stain (I call it a stain because it is a blot that permeates from the flesh to the soul - it's not a pure white gown but more like the grey of a leper) and actively seek the moniker "sigma." It's an immutable state of being - not a cute or trendy sobriquet. It just is what it is. It is no better, no worse. It just is. And the only value I see in Sigmaism is finally being able to accept that you can accept being Sigma without any feeling whatsoever. I'm not saying the sociopathy of feeling nothing. I'm saying to feel the indifference without feeling broken or virtuous. Just because solitude is preferable, a Sigma still feels the disconnect in some small way. It is that necessity to understand to the minutiae that nags - not the actual oneness itself. I don't possess the aplomb to express it.

Narcissism is a very different thing than being a sigma. Narcs need to have their ego constantly stroked, sigmas could almost care about that. Sigmas are often labeled as cold because they don't involve themselves in the petty social bullcrap that occupies the attention of the majority of people. Sigmas don't waste time with gossip. If they are having a convo, it'll be about places or concepts, hardly ever about people. Bear in mind that people will sometimes affix a label in order to force another into a mold of their creation.

I guess it depends on the level and toxicity of that envy, but I personally have 1 friend who'll congratulate me even when I exceed him. My other friends seem to be silently seething, so I try not to tell them too many good news XD
E.g. if the weather is great at my location, I might tell someone today is a wonderful day, but qualify my statement by saying that next week's weather is going to suck.
I don't know any truly toxically envious people though, but it's hard to know for sure sometimes.

Small talk to me is a 2 hour theological-historical debate with a priest I've nevet met before.
But sitting opposed to a stranger for 2 minutes can be tiring.
Small talk can be possible for sigmas with practice, but the trick is that small-talk should have a concrete purpose.
It can be useful to engage the neighbors sometimes _IF_ you think you'll be seeing them for a long time...
Just to learn that they're not insane and that you could possibly rely on them if disaster strikes.
That said, many local communities are dead now because people are moving everytime, so it hardly matters.
And you also risk those neighbors misinterpreting your friendliness and inviting themselves to a BBQ in your yard.

During group conversations, if I don’t know what they talk about . I listen, if they ask, I say I don’t know enough about the subject. If it’s a good conversation I listen and if it’s a worthless conversation, my mind is somewhere else while my body is present lol. If I know about the subject I give into the conversation a little at a time, without overflowing the conversation. You click with one person and then you talk freely and listen freely.
I have found that putting sigma on my course page as a professor. Which is a factual statement. I found it helps the students understand how the class works. I don’t see it as a brag. I see it As a warning along with my Myers-Briggs and the Socratic method of teaching I use. I found it helps some in a class where the teaching is nontraditional.

Labels…that’s not quite unlikely, but one things for sure. Consciousness is collective and unique. It’s a beautiful century to be part of today’s world I think.
A label like sigma could be seen as a hashtag for identifying certain general tendencies a person may have. But I doubt a single person in the world fulfills all 8000+ sigma traits described on RUclips. I figure there must be at least 8000 traits by now.
I think we're more flexible than people imagine. I've been an extreme extrovert, but also an extreme introvert. I like to stay alone by default. Unfortunately I cannot just switch between modes, I dunno how to small-talk effectively anymore. Extremely out of practice.

i'm a loud mouth, but thats more part of my humor, cause everybody thinks that a loud mouth is just a loud mouth. when thy ask me to prove it and i'm not in the mood, i play it like i'm embarassed and trying to find excuses, when in reality all of the things i'm talking about are real. if someone strikes me thinking i'm just a loud mouth he's in for a surprize, because not only does he think i'm not capable of doing what i said, but in my loud mouthyness i never tell 'em everything i'm capable of. so it is a form of humor and strategy. Another thing is that i actually enjoy to be cheered upon, but i don't particularly need it. Also if i like beeing around a community and they suddendly hate me, it really hurts, but i can live without them and get on with my life. i guess i'm not a real sigma male. I first thought i was to fit in somewhere, but i remain to be everything and nothing at the same time

some core tendencies. One could loosely consider "lone wolf", "introvert"
as related. Someone can be an introvert at heart but dabble in extroversion.
But he'll fail at playing the extrovert game and tend to retreat into his comfortable
introversion. Sometimes we get jobs that force us to become extroverts.
But I felt like I never became a true extrovert, mainly because most people are
not good convo partners. I can go into a church and have a 3 hour theological debate,
but I'll struggle to have meaningful convo at the dinner table. People suck.
Sigma is certainly a curious and rather pure spirit who values morality and truth,
but prefers his ivory tower because people cannot keep up. Or something like that.
I think a sigma in particular should choose hobbies to meet similar-minded people.
Personally, I kinda like IT people because I'm a geek, but nowadays i may wanna go
hiking and meet people that way, if I do want to know local people at all that is (I may not care).

I am a cross between sigma and alpha. I don't need a pack anymore I have came to the conclusion that people are evil and I want nothing to do with them which is sigma. And I get ready to fight if some one disrespects me which are alpha traits but as I grow older I am becoming more and more sigma.

With success / achievement it's a both-and, ie. there really isn't enough 'success' to go around (ie. could 8 billion people individually make products the whole world needs when most people regularly buy less than 50 products?). There's a saying that success is preparation meeting opportunity, lots of people prepare but most never see that opportunity. It's still no excuse to be jealous though of people who succeed, someone has to succeed and if no one did we'd be in even deeper trouble. The gist is that life is arbitrary and you really don't have a lot of control, and to some degree you need to give in and accept that (obvious caveats - without nihilism / fatalism) and just ask the question - what behavior from me makes the world better? Hint: it's not jealous or envy.
Except for the first action, I completely agree with the others. Because success and promotion are explained incompletely. If the success of everyone around you makes you feel unhappy or jealous, yes, it is not possible to be a sigma. But if you know this success is not due to talent but only because of 'az licking' or anything like that (because sigmas' observation ability is at the highest level) and you still don't care, you cannot be a sigma either. You can verify this; The people you choose to be around cannot achieve success by 'licking az'. Because you don't want these kinds of people to be around you. And so their success doesn't make you feel anything positive or negative. And also the definitions of promotion or achieving success can be defined differently for sigma. Relationships with benefits cannot be seen as success for sigmas. I hope I was able to explain what I wanted to say.

I didn't realise sigma was a popular view. I suppose there are individuals that will see it as trendy. They remind me of the individuals they buy those jeans that have wear holes in them. Success isn't a mirror. It does make me mad when I see someone that take what they have not earned. This isn't somthing I obses about, but ya, when I see someone taking in what they have not earned I don't like it. I'm not sure why you wouldn't be bothered by this unless you are one of those that have not earned what you have. Too often this happens & those that do the work seem to be rewarded with more work.

I have some tendencies though for the most part I'm egotistical and materialistic.
A sigma is supposedly an introverted alpha. Alphas aren't BORN, they're MADE. Same standards should be held to sigmas. Sigmas are also supposed to have alpha traits, physically and mentally, the only divergence being social interaction/hierarchy. I've seen waaaaay too many dudes who just could NOT pass muster as an alpha, trying to claim sigma. Dudes who are scrawny or obese, weak, don't have that "drive" that is supposed to be inherent in alphas/sigmas. There is definitely a huge disconnect here. Maybe a new designation for the beta male equivalent of a sigma. Maybe a zeta? Kappa?

Yeah, I don't know where or when the Sigma personality type became cool. Obviously, after the concept was introduced and published. But it is more curse than blessing. I suppose all of humanity falls victim to "the grass is greener."
What has been labeled as "Sigma" behavior/traits is much like trying to describe the smell of the colour red or the taste of the wind.
The Bible teaches us that the Lord Jesus said: "You will know them by their fruits."
Maybe, it's the growth of the victim mentality that so many hear of the Sigma stain (I call it a stain because it is a blot that permeates from the flesh to the soul - it's not a pure white gown but more like the grey of a leper) and actively seek the moniker "sigma." It's an immutable state of being - not a cute or trendy sobriquet.
It just is what it is. It is no better, no worse. It just is. And the only value I see in Sigmaism is finally being able to accept that you can accept being Sigma without any feeling whatsoever. I'm not saying the sociopathy of feeling nothing. I'm saying to feel the indifference without feeling broken or virtuous. Narcissism is a very different thing than being a sigma. Narcs need to have their ego constantly stroked, sigmas could almost care about that. Sigmas are often labeled as cold because they don't involve themselves in the petty social bullcrap that occupies the attention of the majority of people. Sigmas don't waste time with gossip. If they are having a convo, it'll be about places or concepts, hardly ever about people. Bear in mind that people will sometimes affix a label in order to force another into a mold of their creation.
