My favorite outlaw artists like Cash and Coe had a tendency to set aside social conventions in order to talk about the darker parts of life most artists avoid. The trickiest part is doing it in such a way that you are not spreading darkness. Much modern commercial music sacrifices this trait in order to be more palatable at the cost of relatability. Makes me think of the scene where Cash suggests anyone who has a problem with him recording live albums in prison wasn't a real Christian. I'm not religious, but damn that sentiment hits hard. ❤
This is awsome 2 years sober from fent and ice now married and found eastern Orthodox Christianity ☦️ im breaking the cycle Never heard of this man until a FB post showed me this song i appreciate your music man
God bless you brother. I found the Orthodox Church myself, and it amazes me how much practicing my faith has almost entirely done away with my cravings. Maybe I may cross paths with you in a parish someday.
I see on social media people saying “a song about meth what a thing to be remembered for” what they don’t understand is it something to have lived through!! Imagine trying that!
The ones complaining are the kind with no backbone. If they get the slightest hint of the drug they loved they go back to using. They can't stay sober on their own
This song isn't about meth it's about fentanyl, one hit two hit hitting the floor ... you don't doze off or hit the floor when you do meth, he even mentions in the song fentanyl
I used to do a lot of bathroom cooking. I sometimes miss that smell, and drawing it up into the rig. I had to stop once the veins in my feet stopped working and I had no choice but to go to my neck and then those stopped working… I just got clean. After almost 15 years of squirtin the dirt. 2 years clean and I’m 34 and I look and feel like I’m 20 again.
@@itsheff3929hopsital gave me dose of fentanyl last month due to pancreatitis- haven’t used heroin , myself almost 8 years now due to fentanyl I got my life back - waking up to the paramedics and a needle in my neck handcuffed to the hospital bed I’m pretty grateful to be here today - meth wasn’t something I seen so much in Ohio - this is an awesome musician - listening from Maine - coast to coasters !! ❤
Man, as someone else pointed out, it's crazy how humans can take such a painful and horrible thing into a beautiful work of art. Shit really hits if addiction has ever touched your life, it's really quite beautiful song. Love your work mate.
I love this dude, every once in a while you come across a unique and distinct voice or song, and he is just that!! Your amazing hunter, wish you all the best, and keep up the good work!!! been listening to you for a long time. You never ever dissapoint!!!!
Seen you 3 times this year Hunter! Driven all over the east coast to do so. Keep it up man. The show in Harrisburg at ABC was my favorite. It was special with your friends there. Congrats!

Such a good song. And I give him props for singing about this topic. There are so much drugs where I live. I can only imagine what some of these kids go through.
My buddy’s dad (who was like a second dad to me) would have loved this song. This is art. It helps a lot more people than you might think. God speed brother
Good thing his daddy wasn't A corrupt government shill or he'd be in the bathroom like the other Hunter! 😆 Can't wait for the video cuz This Hunter got skillz.
Hey man just want to tell you me and my kids love your music, eveytime we are in the car you are there with us to. Love from your home town brother, keep it up !
I feel this song deeply. I grew up with addict parents, not the same one you sing about but close enough. Brings up memories. Forgave them for it but hurts to this day. Your song gave me tears
... best music comes from personal pain and passion....perfect example right here... Edit: sorry to not include a thank you to Hunter Root for sharing... thank you brother... Great song great musicianship... A long life for you brother. #849 l #101 c
This has the soul of old outlaw country from when I was a kid. It scratches that brain itch that modern country just can't.
You named it 👍🏻
Outlaw country sounds good for it 🤝
Pop rock/rap mixed with a country bassist

It amazes how people can turn such immense pain into beautiful art

I agree with book yall. But this ao good if they feel that way. They can stay out the way of all of us I. Recovery. Cause this hit ms home.
Some people can turn turn their pain into art and others can only turn their pain into complaints.
