What an amazing drummer you are - thank you for this excellent performance! 👏👏👏 TOOL's music is nothing short of a musical Big Bang, a cosmic creation and simultaneously, a poignant end to the universe. It's an experience that has left me utterly speechless, a testament to the profound impact their artistry has had on me. Their sonic landscapes unfold like the universe itself, with layers of intricate melodies, and each lyric carries the weight of a collapsing star - intense, deep, and emotionally explosive. In every note, TOOL manages to encapsulate the essence of a journey, a voyage through the vast expanse of emotions. It's as if they've tapped into the very fabric of existence, weaving together a tapestry of sound that resonates with the complexities of life. The music is a gentle caress for the mind and soul, a cosmic embrace that leaves an indelible mark. My favorite song from this album is "7empest", although all of them - without exception - are absolute masterpieces. And this particular song, it feels like the Big Bang of all Big Bangs - a creation that takes shape only to unravel, making way for a rebirth. It's a musical metamorphosis, a celestial dance where every note and lyric converges and diverges in a cosmic rhythm. This composition is more than just an auditory experience; it's a journey through the cycles of creation and destruction, a sonic representation of the universe's eternal ebb and flow.
So I guess if Danny is ever sick on tour or something, Tool could just call you up to fill in like nothing… amazing job once again man, totally blown away by your skills and dedication and amazing performances, not to mention your attention to detail and your overall drum sounds! Amazing \m/
Think everyone should send letters to drumeo and bombard them to the point they sit up and listen to this and invite you in - this kid is seriously talented- he is playing stuff drummers three times his age are playing and let’s not forget that the drummer for tool was voted 26th greatest drummer in the world- let that sink in - it would be absolutely amazing if they invited you along to play with them live and especially the cover you did recently 👊🏻🤘🏻🥃
💯 Not only are you immensely talented for having the technical ability to pull this off, but you have an amazing memory to execute all the intricacies so perfectly, and the balls to even attempt this in a single take is remarkable 👏
I absolutely love that the suggested video I get to this one is Mike Portnoy struggling to just get the groove down of one song. Absolutely astounding performance 👏🏻
this video is my new religion and i'll watch it religiously and work my hardest to get close to these skills. as another commenter said. there's only one person who could play this slightly better and that's danny himself
Man, im only on track 1, and so far, it has been perfect. You play each part so seamlessly that it sounds just like danny. 🎉happy new year! Amazing job!!!
It is just incredible what you have done there…and even in only 1 take!!! I can‘t believe what I‘ve seen!!! I have been listening to this album hundereds of times…but just sitting there and enjoyed every single note. You did also hear it BUT learned every single hit Danny did in this masterpice. It is just amazing what willpower and talent you got there! Thank you so much for this ❤ You will become just as great as Danny and are not far away from it Right now. Remember, Danny has more than 40 years in a lead ;-) All the best to you!!!
I don't normally comment online but you did an incredible job with this, you look how young by the time you're 30 or 40 you're quite likely be the best drummer of the time era
For years, I’ve said Danny is an alien because of his ability to play stuff like this. So, welcome to Earth “Tyler”! Tell Danny hi when you see him back on your home planet! Haha. Unbelievably good man!
Ok dude, you did it. This is the second random video of yours that was suggested to me through the algorithms.. you’ve got a new subscriber. You remind me of me at a young age. Played guitar since I was in single digits, had the same fire behind each note, and also loved to play an album all the way through. I’m 42 now. Great taste in music. Keep it going, stay focused, stay hungry 🤘🏼
Just realized I haven't dropped a comment on this one. Tyler you're literally one of the musicians I am looking up to right now. I have an advice for you, when you are waiting between songs, try and close your eyes and 100% focus on breathing, you are going to relax mind and body leading to a more (if possible) natural flow.
Learning this record by ear (or anything of Tool, for that matter), is an astonishing feat. You pointed out on your Q&A the rudiments and the frustation when one gets it wrong and also you said you like to leave the human factor in your recordings. You might not realize it yet, but that kind of self awareness is something most of us get much much later in life. Having that "I am not too worried about that" approach and just play the hell out of those drums is really the best approach. More than being sponsored or not, you are expressing your Soul my dude. Of course you should get an endorsment ...but, for heavens sake I have heard a lot of drumming in my life and if you can do this with those extensions of a "basic" kit.... well, endorsments might come but your talent is there to the fullest depth regardless.
Oh man, those electronic patterns to start. I'm sure I'll have more comments along the way, but I'm pumped for this listen through. Congrats on finishing this Ty, great way to ring in 2024. Happy new year, keep slayin'
Pneuma was awesome especially the tom stuff 2/3 of the way through. Masterful. I'm not used to the middle tracks, I made a playlist removing them and listen to that all the time.
What a Ride, thanks Ty. Gonna watch this one a lot. With all the attention that Lateralus got, I wonder how long it will take for this to hit 100K. Not sure what it would take for a cut up of failures, but seeing the struggle helps us think we could do this do. You could also contact Drumeo about using their drumless songs and doing some kind of promo when you do the next album.
Thanks so much for all the support man! Happy new year to you as well! I was definitely the most worried for Chocolate Chip Trip, and I did mess up in it, but it was super fun! Doing a video of mess-ups would be pretty cool, I'm not sure I will get around to it soon, but I can keep it in the back of my mind!
Bro, you do not only got the technique and speed, but to play all these polyrythms I think you might have a great talent in complex rythmic thinking, and this thinking quality shows a really important talent in creative abilities and potentials. Thanks for this video (and the others on tool)!
I’m absolutely amazed, man! I just wish that English was my native tongue, so I could convey how terrific your performance is. Should Danny see this, he’d be proud!
Even with afew hiccups here and there, it's MIGHTY IMPRESSIVE you did it all in 1 take. Normally someone would just re-record until it's perfect but those subtle hiccups really emphasizes that it's 1 take because you kept the human flaws in. Well done my dude.
I’ve said it before and I will do it again. Kid you’re incredible, but it is time to shed the constraints of other peoples ideas. Break forward out of this mold that you are in. Create your own soundscapes. You have what it takes to be one of the very greatest out there. It’s time to build your own castle, onward and upward. Your legacy can begin today, let us hear what YOUR universe sounds like. YOUR SKILL LEVEL IS INCREDIBLE, IT IS TIME TO MOVE FORWARD AND CREATE.
Thanks so much for the comment man! I have actually started creating some of my own stuff! I just recently started to pick up acoustic guitar, I still have lots to learn but I really hope to get an electric guitar and bass soon. If I am able to get those, I hope to start sharing original material!
Hey Tyler, as you did the full Album Cover of Lateralus I was surprised, but THIS is unbelieveable. Although you've proven that it's possible, I still can't believe it. That's exactly the same feeling Tool gave me with creating Fear Inoculum in 2019. At the beginning I was just jealous. Jealous, that you are blessed with endless Talent. Nevertheless you've kept me watching with being such phenomenal. I'm admitting it, because you really earn all credits for your content, man. I'm a huge fan of your work. I really learnt alot by watching you playing. Especially when I practise with your polyrythm videos. You help me getting better and better. I really appreciate it. I really have to ask you some questions, mate: 1. How did you learn the whole Fear Inoculum album that fast? Did you work with Guitar Pro or Songstar Tabs? Or did you just listen and found it out by yourself? 2. How did you get the original electric Tool sounds? 3. Your sound is just perfect. How did you do it? Which drumkit did you use? May you tell me all the components (Toms, Snare, Cymbals, Electronics, Hardware etc.) you are using? 4. How did you learn drumming that fast? What is your advise? What does help you the most with getting better on the drums? 5. How do you play Progressive Music like Tool on Drums? Do you count everytime while playing? Do you have an advise for me to count those complex beats? Or do you just feel the rythm without counting? You really earn much more clicks man. But you definately will, because THIS is pure content. Please keep it on and on and on!❤ Greetings from Germany!
I cant answer all the questions you had for him cause some of it changes per person- but ive also been playing a lot of tool covers on drums too (i havent recorded any videos so I don’t have any proof but anyways) but for me i dont count time really at all when playing the weird time signatures in tool or other prog bands. Mainly I just have to get a really good grip of the melody and I just play to the melody. Pneuma’s a great example- when the guitar and bass come in together with the drums, its a super weird time signature and would he horrible to try and count, but if you remember what that bass/guitar part sounds like and just play with that it becomes a lot easier. It gets a lot easier the more you practice weird time signature parts, so at first when learning it might help to keep count but I think with types of songs like tool the goal should be to eventually feel it more than count it. Hopefully that answers a little bit of what you were wondering!
This is the second most impressive music inspired video I have ever seen on RUclips. The number one is a tie between every video Luca Stricagnoli uploads. If you haven't seen his stuff, be prepared to be blown away.
That is one hell of a display of dedication and discipline. One take...kudos dude, holy crap, honestly. Great hand technique during the heavy polyrhythmic bridge section in Pneuma, loved your interpretation on CCP, and you still kept rocking throughout 7empest. Keep at it dude, this was inspirational.
Mate, I hope that whenever you find yourself having a dark moment please never forget how impressive and inspiring what you have achieved and shared with us thus far is. Seriously, Tyler, this is worthy of a standing ovation. Out of curiosity, taking it all together, how long would you estimate it took you to learn this album? Keep them coming, please! Wishing you a phenomenal 2024!
I can't tell you how many times I've watched this. Having the drums be the more focus of these songs has been such a joy to listen and watch, plus this has been extremely helpful in learning the songs for myself. Appreciate and love the sheer effort this must have been.
I'm amazed! super complex parts, +1 hour one take footage, really, you inspire me a lot! seen your Lateralus cover also, that led me to this one, how much time do you take to study the parts and practice everything to perfection?
Thank you very much, I appreciate the comment and I am glad that I could help inspire you! I already knew the general structure and idea of the songs to some degree because I have been listening to them on and off for about 2 years. As for physically learning/playing them and preparing to record, it took about 2-3 months. It's not perfect and there are parts that do bug me when I listen back, but it was a super fun challenge!
He's just amazing.. Not even human. He needs to prove that he can create something like Danny, but still not taking anything away from him. It's kids like him that retired me.. UNREAL MAN.. Stay humble...
So unrealistic :D Even to be able to learn one Tool song but full album it's just crazy good job. So if Dany will want to take some free week you could easly replace him 🤘Just amazing job!
I've been playing drums for 40 plus years, and it took me a WHILE to learn Pneuma, let alone the whole record. Outstanding job young man! My only advice? Obviously you love Danny and Tool, but try to become the best YOU on the drum kit. There's already a Danny Carey- let's see Tyler Visser become a unique musical force!
Legendary behavior. As soon as my Tool phase kicks in I get this video? Hell yeah. Plus my phone recognized this song as the original. Very very accurate.
Holy shit balls! There is nothing else to do on the drums now. Pack em up, you win! Seriously, dude, this is insane playing... it was an insane idea just to try to play it.

I have to believe that Danny has seen this - and that he had his big Danny grin on the whole time. This is beyond amazing!
Necessary water break at 22:07. Amazing job covering the whole album, dude! Wow! 😲👏🙌
Probably the holiest thing to me is to listen to TOOL. Now you are the disciple.
💯 Not only are you immensely talented for having the technical ability to pull this off, but you have an amazing memory to execute all the intricacies so perfectly, and the balls to even attempt this in a single take is remarkable 👏
Not to mention your samples and dynamics are spot on 👌
i didn't think anyone could fill in for Danny, but here you are! they could hire you to fill in on tour for when Danny needs to piss or something! 🤣
This is the most impressive drum performance video I've ever seen on RUclips. Hats off to you man! You really have done something great here!
I absolutely love that the suggested video I get to this one is Mike Portnoy struggling to just get the groove down of one song. Absolutely astounding performance 👏🏻
I was literally sweating when you got to the Poly Rhythm in Pneuma. I saw you had to improvise a bit, but you nailed it!!!
Rumour has it, if you play that section 100% perfect you open up a comms channel with the netherworld. Only Danny Carey can deal with that
And this guy is the next Greyson Nekrutman, who is already a legend. Mark my words.
Your attention to detail is worthy of tremendous respect, and I appreciate your dedication and talent.
bro i got in the video thinking it was only the first song of the album, then continued adn i realised... bro, this is impresive a different level
Bro. I literally have no words for how amazing your covers are. You deserve a lifetime patronage from The Octopus himself ✨️ Keep on rockin dude 🤘
The Octopus reborn. Listening to Tool since 97’. You did Danny proud.
This is another level of dumming and memory retention. Fantastic work! keep the videos!
this video is my new religion and i'll watch it religiously and work my hardest to get close to these skills. as another commenter said. there's only one person who could play this slightly better and that's danny himself
Your hired! And, playing in socks is the only way 👍🏻
😮 Danny Jr. right there!!!
Man, im only on track 1, and so far, it has been perfect. You play each part so seamlessly that it sounds just like danny. 🎉happy new year! Amazing job!!!
You are a fuckin' epic monster dude! Awesome!
Thank you so much for this ❤
You will become just as great as Danny and are not far away from it Right now. Remember, Danny has more than 40 years in a lead ;-)
All the best to you!!!
I don't normally comment online but you did an incredible job with this, you look how young by the time you're 30 or 40 you're quite likely be the best drummer of the time era
Damn Tyler your drumming is flawless! Excellent 🤘🤘🤘🤘
I have an advice for you, when you are waiting between songs, try and close your eyes and 100% focus on breathing, you are going to relax mind and body leading to a more (if possible) natural flow.
ive never seen a better cover of pneuma, it was amazing man.
Oh man that was a surprise in Invincible that you play the synth stuff during the Ponce De Leon section. Love it.
The look on your face through Chocolate Chip Trip is great. I'm not sure if that was the part you were worried about most, but you destroyed that
What a Ride, thanks Ty.
Should Danny see this, he’d be proud!
bro you have no idea how many times I've listened to this, I just play this instead of the album now
Strong performance. And quite the workout. This is my favorite album and you nailed it.
as if the insanity of playing this entire album wasnt enough.......HE PULLS OUT A GUITAR AT 55 MINUTES IN :D
OUTSTANDING JOB YOUNG MAN
Insane stuff 🔥🔥🔥
Mind blowing! How talented is this guy?
This is phenomenal , kudos to you🙌🏻
Even with afew hiccups here and there, it's MIGHTY IMPRESSIVE you did it all in 1 take. Normally someone would just re-record until it's perfect but those subtle hiccups really emphasizes that it's 1 take because you kept the human flaws in. Well done my dude.
this is incredibly impressive!!
@@tyvisser that’s awesome buddy. Don’t try to be the next Danny Carey. Be the first TyVisser
A kid your age listening to Tool, is awesome to me on its own. But then nailing these covers is prestigious on another level.
FABULOUS !!!!
No way been waiting for this! Amazing job, you killed chocolate chip trip. Do you think eventually over the years you will cover every tool album?
Thanks man, much appreciated! If I am able to get to them, I will try my best!
Sweet! Idk if you will see this but im curious what was the toughest part of this album and lateralus to play? @@tyvisser
As ridiculously busy as Danny Carey drum lines are, to do this so well in ONE take is nuts! BRAVO kid! You're gonna go far.
Hey Tyler,
as you did the full Album Cover of Lateralus I was surprised, but THIS is unbelieveable.
I really have to ask you some questions, mate:
Please keep it on and on and on!❤
Greetings from Germany!
Good questions!
DRUMEO! Don’t miss out on this guy!
Thanks so much man, that really means a lot to me! I still have lots to learn, but I am starting to create my own stuff slowly!
So unrealistic :D Even to be able to learn one Tool song but full album it's just crazy good job. So if Dany will want to take some free week you could easly replace him 🤘Just amazing job!
And then perform it in one take. It's otherworldly tbh. Insane amount of discipline.
See you on Drumeo, bro!
Impressive bro, the fact u done this whole album by Tool with synchronization and skill and the drum snares is perfect too!!! Keep it up dude 🖤🤘🏽
Hey, you missed one ghost note at-
Just kidding. Dude-this was FANTASTIC! Incredible work.
Legendary behavior. As soon as my Tool phase kicks in I get this video? Hell yeah. Plus my phone recognized this song as the original. Very very accurate.
I´m speechless. Your channel features genius content.
The look on his face, as he's just crushing it, reminds me of Neil Peart. What an immense talent.
Holy shit balls! There is nothing else to do on the drums now. Pack em up, you win! Seriously, dude, this is insane playing... it was an insane idea just to try to play it.
This is up there with the guy that played nearly the whole Leviathan album on piano in one take, as one of the most impressive things I've ever seen.
