On October 10th, 1995 the rap world was blessed with a classic album from Brooklyn, NY's legendary lyricist AZ.
Starting his career off by spitting a 16-bar verse of fire on Nas' "Life's A Bitch" cut off his epic debut album, Illmatic, AZ was engulfed in a bidding war for his MC services. Landing with EMI Records in 1995, he released his debut album with the club/radio hit, "Sugar Hill".
With a stint as the co-D to Nas in Dr. Dre's super group The Firm, AZ has gone on to make 9 (yes, 9!) solo albums. Check his resume and watch the clip to see if his 10th album, the upcoming Doe or Die 2, will be his last.

I agree with you, I think once people saw the chemistry AZ and Nas had, that it would only be natural for them to do a album together. Nas has hinted at it in the past but would never write anything in stone. It's all good though, AZ and Nas still handling their business in the rap game. AZ has some good hits under his belt ( a couple of them produced by Premo )

Isaiah Watson Nas was supposed to be in that video but stood up Jay. There is a video of Biggie asking E Money Bags where's Nas. E Money Bags even talked about it before he got killed.

0:57 and that's where he fucked up. Should've went with Sony. I get he didnt want to do it out of respect for Nas and the money looked good. But Sony Columbia was pretty stable and they had a roster of R&B singers for singles and hits. The Nas and AZ album would've been done by now.
So Instead, AZ went through a series of labels that kept being bought out, folding and failing or didnt know how to handle rappers. EMI, Noo Trybe, Motown, even Koch got bought...smh.
