This episode was so educational, to know that people actually destroyed a town because it was thriving. I like that I actually got a glimpse of the town in it's glory and saw the town getting ready for a dance before the tragedy took place. Hippolyta coming back from her multiverse trip speaking straight knowledge I was hype af!
Periodddd I didn’t get it the first 10 mins till I realized they were back in Tulsa... brought me to tears seeing letti walk down with all that pain, sadness, rage and she sees everything around her burn. 😪
15:51 YES!!! Unmatched in the scifi/horror genre indeed. So much content was mixed in, perfectly. The thoughts/discussions every episode this season from y'all were always nice to hear. Thank you Tre and Tasha. Tic's great-grandmother, _"He will be my faith turned to flesh"_ that was great line - layered and powerful.
Not gonna lie, when this episode aired it gave me a nightmare. My great grandparents could have EASILY been a victims and yet somehow they made it far enough for me to exist
As someone from Tulsa, who lives in one of the neighborhoods that the black community had to take refuge to, this episode was so powerful. They don’t even teach us of this in school.
Y’all would enjoy the podcast with the head writer of the show. They even had show runner Misha Green. It gives a lot of insight to,how they put it all together.
Give us the knowledge black king and queen I thank yall I watched the whole show and a lot of shit went over my head but watching yall break it down is a blessing
I’m obsessed with this series and your critique I just came across this show and wonder why I never even heard of this show Jordan peele is pure genius
love your channel. love your passion. y'all rock. btw a series based on Nnedi Okorafor's book "Who Fears Death" is coming to HBO if you are looking for some Black post apocalyptic scifi/fantasy. It was a fantastic book, and i hope the TV series does it justice.
A History of Black America by the late great Lerone Bennett Jr. (who worked with Ebony Magazine) taught me my history.......it's why NAT TURNER IS MY HERO. School didn't teach me about him!
My sister and I were talking about how we never learned about the Tulsa Massacre in school until we got to college. We were commenting on the fact it was on Watchmen too. The thing that makes this the hardest is that it really happened, which is so much scarier than any of the horror elements. It's an excellent show. Btw, Oklahoma only made it part of the history curriculum in 2020. We're coming up on 100 year anniversary of the destruction of Greenwood next month.
I love your reactions. I wish more people focus on the similarities of others that are different from them. This world has Plenty of space for all of us even if we have different beliefs, lifestyles and cultures. Take care and stay safe.🌹
You guys should look up ADDI (the African Diaspora Development Institute - ouraddi dot org). They're a nonprofit organization with various projects to connect the Diaspora with the continent and developing the economy
Tasha dnt ever do that again, tha gay show runner purposely threw that shit in so u could say wat u said about wat our ancestors "were doin". Lee Daniel tactics, dnt let them change tha narrative, if we did that it was learned behavior

One thing that is sad to me, is learning the survivors had to watch their family possessions be worn by their murderers.
Someone on Twitter said that grandma told Leti that she peeped her Air Force 1s.
😂
They definitely hit you in the face with real facts. Great show loved every minute of each show

His mom said what happened to him in a documentary. It was way worse than what they showed to Christina.

I like that HBO is giving all these black created things a chance to show and be prestige television
Same, that's a show I'm looking forward to, as well as the film adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi's book "Children of Blood and Bone". I enjoyed both books.

A History of Black America by the late great Lerone Bennett Jr. (who worked with Ebony Magazine) taught me my history.......it's why NAT TURNER IS MY HERO. School didn't teach me about him!
I understand that Leti was invulnerable, but how did the book itself not burn up amid all the fire & explosions? XD
this episode was like a kick in the chest. sad af
This show has touched me mentally physically and emotionally
It’s sad I have to learn more of my history from this show like I never heard of Tulsa or Josephine baker

What's with the subtitles.
no one claims man makes flowers grow and seasons change. if you want to say "God" did it. that's fine but science has answers for both of those things
