Starmer's misogyny laws will not include foreign cultures because they will get cultural exemptions. It won't apply to Muslims who are horrifyingly misogynist but a white guy joking that women shouldn't be allowed to drive will feel the full force of the law.

I agree with your point. However, I am not sure if the police were present. Even so, they were still reluctant to act when she complained to them. The incident was clearly depicted on the restaurant's CCTV and the identity of the man was undeniable.
As with the 4 minutes and 33 seconds of common sense spoken here by Alex Phillips, it will all be ignored and the "clear and present danger" of a culture which sees women and indeed, most other humans, as inferior, akin to farmyard animals, will be excused, nurtured and evermore tolerated.

I am so impressed by you Alex as a professional woman who is now 77 years old but still functioning. I admire you, your intelligence and articulateness. I thought women had almost won in the late 70’s but I am so upset that we have to fight all over again. Many western men, including myself, are deeply ashamed of previous attitudes and actions.
They have awoken to the misogyny that was prevalent in their society.
They don't want their daughters to suffer this sort of behaviour. There is a threat from extremist religious groups among the community. These follow a dogma that represses their women and despises women outside their faith system .
What can we do about these new influences? How do they threaten our young women?
How do we help oppressed women in these zealous religious structures, to gain autonomy?
These are questions we should be discussing, if we want an equal and free society. Religious zealotry, in any faith system, is the antagonist of equality, freedom of expression and human rights across the globe.

I take your point Alex about women being sympathetic to woke ideas. Some women may be, just as some men are. However, many of the changes we are suffering from in the UK were actually brought about by men - Blair/Brown/Straw - that Labour govt cabinet were mostly men. I once heard a scientist say, that the huge amount of young women, taking actively part in the refugee welcome industry, looking after migrants and helping them, has not only ideological, but even biological reasons. Most of these women are of an age, where most of them would have been mothers to small children, but mostly are not, because of their choice to delay or refuse motherhood. The "mother instict" though stays and is poured on the migrants and often in a way, as if they were helpless children, ignoring the fact, that they are everything but helpless and small.

In Sweden all migrants are put in a classroom and told how the Swedish culture promotes that women and men are treated as equals and migrants must adhere to these rules. I saw an example of this lecture in a government video and the migrants looked bemused and shocked principally because the person in authority giving the lecture was a woman.

I have never seen women and men treated equal in Sweden.
The men in question are usually from Islamic countries. Here in the US we have a lot of immigrants, but they are not alowed to put their beliefs into practice where it conflicts with the existing law. And most immigrants here don't. For the most part they tend to integrate into the larger US society. For some reason immigrants to the UK, don't seem to integrate at all.

I immigrated from a country that is listed as 25th most dangerous for women in the world, to a western country. Many women who have never been to a third world country, have NO idea of what true misogyny is like, constantly looking over your shoulder, having security guards for safety, living behind barbed wired 6-ft fences, men thinking they have the right to sexually touch you, men following you around, and a high risk if being kidnapped.
Living in a Western country for 20years, I've only encountered misogyny a handful of times and even then it was child's play compared to what I experience in my home country.
UK government importing large quantities of young men from highly misogynistic cultures who have no access to women in their own countries are going to put the UK's women at high risk of being taken advantage of.

Well guess what? By the time they're at the end of their 30s it's too late, then they realise, men have gone their own way.
