I came across this song while listening to Spotify and it hit me differently! I'm into Underground Dance Music and I might know 5 words in German, but I instantly embraced the deepness of this work. I'm now listening to it on a daily basis, looking at the lyrics, although it's hard to keep up with such a fast-paced rapping. I have also looked at the ENG translation. I think this guys has nailed it!
I hope the Translation was a good one, I am bored so here is one from a german to english: We ran across the streets carried by adrenaline. Today you look different, the years have taken thier toll, (the years have gone into the country is a 1:1 translation) I almost hadnt recognized you, as you where standing at the gas station Plastic bag, Korn (A kind of cheap booze), Westpoint zigarillos (a big pack of cigaretts), bad skin, Chemnitz - (City in germany known for a large part of right wing citizens) - city swag, everything looks somehow sad. The memories of you and the old days simply over tattood, (Overwritten with new tattoos) erased, for the buddies that you loved, you are no more than a dark spot in the biography. And they dislike talking about that phase in thier life. Thats whey they do not great you when they see you on the street. Back then you made action, back then you where "clapping ticks" (not even I know what that means), back then you made 16 year olds eath the curbstone. Now you loose theeth yourself, glass like eyes, stench of beer. Today noone gets bullied anymore, noone is afraid of you, rather they are afraid for you, because you are drunk to the max. Under the neon light gas station advertisement sits... Ref. End Here my interpretation: Essentially this is a story from the younger to the current days of the artist Felix Kummer wo was born in Chemnitz but his family originally came from the east. Therefore he apperantly got bullied and abused by "neo nazi" types back in his younger days. He is roughly discribing the life of one of these thugs from his perspective. First when he was younger and then when he was in his pretty sucessfull adult years. If you got any questions, ask away.
