Im a guy who lives in Perth, Western Australia and loved watching 77 Sunset Strip as a kid, back in early 60s. I recall writing a fan letter to Ed Byrnes at Warner Bros studios. I was so delighted on receiving his reply soon after, a autographed fan postcard that read....."Your friendship means a great deal to me. I cant thank you enough for writing" Best Wishes Ed Brynes ( Kookie ) . I still have it somewhere today in my treasures..
Seeing Ed "swing" into that car reminds me that I used to love the acrobatic moves he would make, and although I loved the two main stars, I would have loved Ed to be given more screen time.
Connie was not mentioned because she played "Cricket" 119 times on another Warner production for ABC which was called "Hawaiian Eye". She was on "77 Sunset Strip" only 4 times.
@@jeffreyfabian6791 Ha ha, took you a long time to get around to insulting me! Why were you even looking at this channel if you didn't like the show? I'll bet you're a softie, still dream of your own young love & wish you hadn't lost her...now I feel bad for you.

Freakin loved this show. Los Angeles in 1960. The place to be!!!
You bet!
I've been watching all six seasons of 77SS and it's a lot of fun. Kind of a shame they couldn't get Roger Smith to do a reunion movie with them

Fascinating revelation by Louis Quinn about how he landed the role of Roscoe despite not being an actor!
Wow! Stephenie is his daughter?!.... Of course! See this is why I love watching all these old interviews, you learn something new all the time!
Zimbalist isn't exactly a common name. I figured they were related.
Ed Burns was 52 at the time this aired and Efferham Zimblast Junior was 67. They both looked very good for their ages 👍
And Louis Quinn was 70....
Louis Quinn died right after this.
Edd Byrnes (1933 - 2020)
@ stupid idiot
@ no, that would be 87.
They were private detectives, not government agents, (although they had been previously).
Terrific.
It is remarkable how much the Stevenson clan resemble one another.
Did he say they were Govt. Agents? I thought they were private investigators?
Vicki Ross Originally, they were a private eye firm but in its final season Efrem Zimbalist Jr. was converted into an undercover government agent.
zoperxplex thanks, & it was not as good. Didn’t it only last one season?
Vick Ross Yes, it was a transparent attempt to ride the James Bond phenomenon of the sixties to shore up tepid ratings and, of course, it failed.
Both were former OSS, although Roger Smith's character was probably Korea Era CIA.
Why wasn't Connie Stevens mentioned as one of the main actors in this show??? She was adorable & fit the role perfectly, deserves credit, dammit!!

Oh mikey
@ In my country schmuck means a wise man. So smile when someone calls you a schmuck schmuck
I used to have hair like Edd Byrnes
Where's Roger and Jaqueline?
Roger Smith had myasthenia gravis and was mostly managing his wife, Ann-Margret. Jacqueline Beer had retired from acting by this time.
Roger Smith passed away in 2017, Edd "Kookie" Byrnes passed away January 2020.
@@friedchickenicedtea Didn't she also return to France?
loved efram
love it
Ed Byrnes was a great actor saddled with this silly character 'Kookie' that diminished his future. He should have been a movie star.
HELLO LARRY!
