The Satisfying Prep Detail Of A Brand New C8 Corvette!
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 27 июл 2024
- Today we're taking a brand new C8 Corvette and giving it the proper detail that vehicles don't get from the dealership. Sit back, relax and enjoy 19 minutes of satisfying auto detailing. We start with a thorough deep cleaning of the wheels, followed by a foam bath and decontamination. We then performed a single step paint enhancement with some isolated cutting as there were quite a few sanding marks from the factory. Following the correction the C8 received a top to bottom ceramic coating from Gtechniq. I hope you can all enjoy this auto detailing process video, they're a blast to make!

This is a man who understands the science and the art of this craft. Those animated title were awesome too btw. Always a pleasure witnessing your work!
Enough time spent watching your videos and we can all understand! Thanks Rick, you're the man!
I agree with Rad Garage. This is a detailing not like every washing car video now is called "SATISFYING DETAILING" .... what was done ? pressure washer, shampoo, vacuum, some sealant by DA 8" and finito - detailing..... wtf..... Detailing is a machine polishing - getting much from the lost paint.
Definitely my favorite detailing channel on RUclips. I love that its just music and audio. No talking, just an experience.
Andrew Campbell thanks Andrew! I really appreciate that, trying to catch the vibessss
Chromatic Auto Detailing I agree with Andrew as honestly said it best. My first time here at the channel and I have to say what a Great video and overall awesome work man!

Jay Kuykendall sooo good! GM did a crazy nice job
Fellow Ontarian! As someone in film/TV I'm impressed with the production quality of your videos, really enjoy your style!
As someone who is looking to get in to it for their own car, I'm having a rough time finding the best place to buy products from, and tools. Where have you found the best to be? Of course there's Amazon, but there are so many different brands but they all look like the come from the same place anyway, are they even quality? Would love to know where you've had the most luck! Thanks!
Awesome! Thanks Austin! Im slowly getting into it, trying to find my way haha.
Hands down the best place in Canada to buy products from is Carzilla in Calgary. They only carry high quality products but have stuff for all budgets. Website is super user friendly and they ship super quick. And for free above $100 I believe.
If you're in Toronto there is also a store called Pro Detailing Supplies. They have a store front location just behind Pearson. Huge in-store selection and staff that are willing to help you find everything you need to get started.
Hope that helps! Thanks for the comment!

Awesome video, very passionate guy. I'm trying to get that mask or respirator to apply my coatings, where did you get it from?
Thanks Ricardo, you da man. Its just from Home Depot. Really saves your lungs when dealing with ceramic products
@@ChromaticGarage ohh, oh right man, thanks a lot! Have a good one.
Hi. I just bought one. What about the soap and water in the engine?
If not already, you should get into installing suntek/xpel/stek ppf also.
Yessir! Xpel, its just not that popular in the area we operate
Me too i prefer
ahcene abbas glad you agree! Thanks!
in general, when doing an initial rinse on a dry car, wouldn't using a gentle hose rinse be better than using the pressure washer? It seems to me that using the pressure washer on dry dirt, oil, road grime, etc, has the potential to scratch the finish as the high pressure water forces the dry stuff across the paint surface. Using the pressure washer to rinse after the dirt and debris is lossened with soapy water is OK. your thoughts?
Typically I would agree and will always pretreat with ONR at a minimum. But this is brand new and as you can see has little to zero debris on the car. It was also being corrected so any minimal marring was going to be gone anyways. Thanks for the comment
I disagree with you on that one. A pressure washer used on moderate pressure (1000-1500 psi) at an angle will remove the loose dirt better than just a garden hose, and won't cause more damage than driving the car through everyday grime and dirt. Using a garden hose will do the same than a pressure washer, push dirt off the car, and rinse off, just at a lower level. Now if the dirt that is detached and transported across the panel with water can scrath the paint, we might as well stop trying to maintain the paint on our car, and use kitchen sponges.
amazing results...but how much would this cost your customer ?
Do you mix all three chemicals into your sprayer for the wheel cleaning?
Jacob Eason negative! Gyeon iron is the first chemical in the spray bottle. Brake buster is in the IK foamer. And degreaser is what you see me spray on the tires
@@ChromaticGarage where did you get the little container ur using to spray the wheels?
@UCjwQgNGpV0pKq2GgegRfKWA what do you think about brake buster as a wheel cleaner? It seems to work well for me
Which track is used in the background??
asmr!
You friggen know it Cameron
How long does it take you to edit these videos? Really enjoying all your work, thank you.
Thank you Chris! Usually about 3 hours. We animated all the titles by hand this time though, so it added a couple hours
Chromatic Auto Detailing incredible, thank you!
Just curious, are you polishing when you are using the machine? If yes, is polishing a new car necessary?
Ranjith Murali I am! The factory finish is pretty much never the best it can be. There was also a few areas of sanding marks which is why you see me cutting a couple times.
@@ChromaticGarage Got it. Thanks!
Is that Griots FCC with an Orange LC pad? Anything to finish or polish further?
Steve griots perfecting cream on the orange pad!
Thanks! I’ll have to give that combo a try. I’ve only tried Griots consumer line complete compound and polish and wasn’t too impressed. I’ve heard great feedback on the BOSS line though.
Cool video! What hose do you have for your pressure washer?
I believe this was just the standard SunJoe pressure washer hose. I typically use a KobraJet hose which I like much more!
@@ChromaticGarage do you have a link? And will it fit my spx 4000? How about pressure wise? Will it still I'll be the same? And what size is it? 50ft?
I’ve never seen anyone use their P&S Brake Buster with a 10:1 dilution ration. And you find it still effective at this rate? Thx
Tundra Whisperer that’s pretty much the dilution you have to use it at with the IK foamers. However it was used in conjunction with gyeon iron and the car has 100km on it. Not very dirty at all
Chromatic Auto Detailing ahhh…got it, makes sense. I use it 5:1 in my Marolex sprayer, love that stuff! Thx.
Tundra Whisperer how has your experience been with the marolex sprayer? I'm looking to pick up one and use it with Brake Buster at 5:1 in the foamers. Worth it over an IK Pro 2?
Chromatic Auto Detailing do you dilute the 3D citrus cleaner or just use straight up? Thx
Twiztid Metal unfortunately I can only speak to the Marolex, haven’t had a chance to use anyother foamers out there. But can say I really like this one! Very comfortable to use and the suds it creates with Brake Buster is great! Some day I’d like to try others just to compare. Thx
May ask you which BOSS cream you used?
I was primarily using Perfecting cream and them FCC on the cutting sections
What compound were you using on the polishers?
someuser griots perfecting cream on an orange foam pad for most of the vehicle. Fast correcting cream on a black microfibre cutting pad for the sanding marks
Top top top
fat08 thank you!!💹
Amazing looking car. Not sure on the square tailpipes tho. 🤔
///Moleman Inc. Love it man! But I agree, excites to see some exhaust upgrades across the platform
///Moleman Inc. Some RUclips channels 2020 Bette owners have already changed them.
What is your choice for a cutting compound and polish?
Mason Prososki griots fast correcting cream and perfecting cream. Will work 95% of the time when switching up pads
@@ChromaticGarage which pads do you use?
What’s the PSI ON the pressure washer
Great video! Out of curiosity, can anyone explain to me why he is polishing when its a brand new car? I would think personally unless it came from the factory with a bunch of swirls or marring, I wouldn't want to polish yet. But I am learning and genuinely curious.
Kyle Bell all new vehicles come with defects and a compromised finish. Whether it’s from transit or the dealership removing the protective film strips. There’s so many contact points for be cars to become damaged. Not to mention the factory paint just not looking it’s bed to begin in with. This car in particular came with a bunch of sanding marks as well. Thanks for watching Kyle!
Chromatic Auto Detailing thank you for the reply! This info definitely helps me now in preparing for a detailing business.
what camera do you use? it looks awesome.
Aaron Reynoso thanks Aaron! Just a little canon T6i
I don't like the new corvette.. But I'll still watch.
Haha I appreciate that. They're definitely not for everyone
I’m curious is your shop air-conditioned
Front end looks similar to the Ferrari 360 (lights & side vents on the bumper)
Very similar indeed! I believe I prefer this though
How much would you typically charge for a job like this
I'm in France
How long hour wise did it take to detail the Corvette.
Jason Nesbitt probably about 10 hours and then some cure time. Thanks for watching!
Love your show. Wanting to get into detailing myself. Been detailing cars and trucks since I was 15. Never thought of myself as becoming a professional detailer, I just love to make cars shine.
@@370znez Thats awesome man! I think you could definitely get used to it then!
I'm interested in your solution before delivering the car with rusted discs: Just do a few braking and then clean off the rust on the wheel, or just leave the car as is knowing it will make a mess later?
Typically the vehicles move after being washed to a designated coating area so its never an issue. But I film when the shop is closed so in this case I just cleaned them up after moving it for photos.
what soap are you using?
It is Meguiars Shampoo Plus. The blue one. I love it
Another beautiful car been prepared to be stored In the garage lol... won't understand till win the lottery and buy this kind of cars and star storing them away I guess FMBL
T Blanco haha. I am also waiting for that day
How was this car to detail? It has a lot of sharp edges and stuff.
Definitely a load of sharp lines. If the paint was in bad condition it would be challenging. But this was all good! Smooth sailing
Question. Why don’t you rinse after foaming then hand wash? Thought the whole point of foaming is to rinse away contaminants.
Jeff S never have and probably never will. If the car is dirty enough for a pre treatment I will use an actual chemical that breaks down debris prior to the initial rinse. This car has 20km on it and it wasn’t necessary
Typicaly depend on what product you use to foam the car. If it's a ph neutral shampoo with light detergent, i won't do much on dirt to be honest. Might as well use the foam as lubricant to avoid scratches.
But if you choose a powerfull cleaner/foamer, that can cut grime and detach most of the dirt, i would say then rinse the car after letting the product dwell for a sufficient amount of time. Then go to a handwash.
Different approach for different cases and people. I would prefer using a product that will actually cut the grime and dirt on soiled car, then rinse. But if it's a pretty clean car, i would avoid foaming, just good rinse with a pressure washer, and then good shampoo with a mitt.
What kind of pressure washer do you use ?
Commet 1700 Static

great video bro, 2:41 my Ik foam is not making a fan as big as yours, despite pumping a lot. What can it be ?
Lots of people say this! Did you see if the filter is clogged? Thanks bro!
dude fucking nice job!! two questions : on average what ball park figure would you charge for a detail like this? and second question, whats your opinion on PPF vs ceramic coating? thanks!!
Thanks man! This costs around $1300.00. PPF is awesome, ceramic is also awesome. I love ceramic on its own, and I love ceramic on top of PPF. I don't like PPF on its own though. Thats a very hard question to answer though. Depending on how the vehicle is going to be driven and how much, the answer could change drastically
@@ChromaticGarage thanks for the reply man! Would you say that PPF is more for luxurious cars in order to hold value or maintain their exterior appearance oppose to going to more less expensive ceramic coating route or is it all preference?
